GRJ has some of the fastest hands I have ever seen. His weak spot is his legs. When he fought Loma he was always out maneuvered and found himself in a vulnerable position every time.
Positioning is so important at the top level. The timing difference looked huge, but the reason is Loma always made sure he was in the punching position and Gary was not. Gary has great timing just like Loma, but he does not have great legs or positioning. It made it look like Loma's timing was so superior, but he was the guy who created the angles. Gary was in a constant mode of always trying to to play catchup
Loma's feet and Ring Generalship dictated the fight that night. Gary tried to adjust by stopping playing chase and was letting Loma come to him, but even when Loma did, he would always come in from the side. He was making Gary flail his shots.
that's a matter of skill, set up, and timing. that's not what the TS asked for!
floyds a more accurate puncher than rigondeaux. better example of the "best" speed you are talking about rigondeaux is an accurate power puncher when you are in range, but his jabs are throw away punches, and rarely land. that's why he's got trouble making things happen, and relies on mistakes when you're in range so he can counter.
russel's hands move faster, especially now that rigondeaux's clearly slowing down. his hands are faster, which is what the TS asked for.
Russell Jr. Was so 5 years ago and still is but saying that makes everyone wonder why the lack of competition
Rigo has the best speed cause he hits you and your on the floor. Russel throws 10 punches and the fighter doesn't know if a fly has been pestering him or is it punches from Russell

Only a fool would think that. Another fool would also think that Loma didn't showcase his higher caliber speed that night against Gary Jr. There's a reason why he was reduced to volume arm punching. The positioning/timing/speed of Loma was too good, that night.... But yeah, Gary is faster 99/100 other nights, just not that night. It's all good.
GRJ easily has faster hands than Loma, but that was about it. Speed alone doesn't always get you a win, it's often neutralized by timing, defense, and footwork, all of which Loma was superior in. Not sure why you have such an issue with this, if anything it's a compliment to Loma that he was able to neutralize a guy with crazy hand speed so easily.
the thread asks who has the fastest hands...

I like how Gary Russel is mentioned over the guy that blitzed him(Loma). That's alright, we beat him 99 times out of a 100. Loma just caught Gary on an off night.
Beating a guy doesn't mean you have faster hands, it means you are a better fighter.
GR had much faster hands that night.
Garry Russel probably has that fastest hands in the sport right now.

there have been plenty of instances where a fighter with faster hands loses to a guy with slower ones. that fight is an example.
russel's hands moved faster. lomchenko landed the more effective punches and won the fight.

Hahahahahahaha
... who thinks that May held the 'fastest hand speed' is wrong. Floyd was fast with overall movement.
This is true but throwing single shots, it was Mayweather.
speed and timing are two different things entirely
also, just because fighter A beat fighter B, doesnt mean fighter B doesnt do somethings or have some things better
Timing beats speed, but Gary Russell arguably has the fastest hands in boxing and definitely faster than Loma. Loma has better technique, balance and timing
On that night, Loma performed above Russell in all athletic measurements. But like I said, it was only one night. There are many other nights.
