Yea or nay?
I say yea because if you're looking for which rivalry over the decades has produced the better quality matches in terms of action and excitement then IMO you'd go with the Mexico-Japan rivalry.
how the **** ppl here saying Mexico dominates Puerto Rico 95% of the time?? showed me prove I GOT PROVE and A LIST that perhaps is a fact that Puerto Rico is dominating Mexicans in the real fights "Title Fights"... or any interim title fights too... Mexico got over 10000 boxers and Puerto Rico 100 boxers. HAHAHAHAHA
Mexico - Japan is a great rivalry!
Mexico - PR has been a great rivalry!
Hopefully we will see a big crop of talent from the Philippines again. They got a few now, I hope sonsona gets his mind right! He is good!
I agree as well. Puerto Rican's tend to fold and are "Safety first" type fighters when fighting outside their hometown (NY,PHILLY,PR). Japs always have that Kamikaze type mentality and I think they might actually be beating Mexico in the lower weight classes.:boxing:
I have to agree as a unbiased observer.
I personally find the Mexico - Japan and Mexico - Philippines "rivalry" more entertaining than the Mex vs PR one. Mexico dominates Puerto Rico 95% of the time. PR boxing is currently in a slump but there are a lot of nice prospects on the come up!

I think the Mexico vs Japan rivalry is great. Japanese fighters are highly underrated in the sport of boxing. I think this rivalry is overlooked mainly for 2 reasons, 1 this rivalry usually takes place at or around 108-116lbs and the media doesnt pay to much attention to fighters at that weight. And 2, for the most part Japanese and Mexican fighters are very humble, which in turn again presents nothing for the media to feed off of. If Japan produced a loudmouth boxer or a loudmouth trainer calling themselves a "Mexicutioner" this would heat up the rivalry and bring epic fights into light. You have to bring the Machismo out of it basically which is what and why the Mexican vs PR rivalry thrives off of within the media.
