I have seen him in 3 pro fights and highlights of olympics. He looks good but obvi a lil green still ( like All pros are so do t think I'm talkin ****). But I was just curious from those who know him well. Is he the real deal or a Michael Grant?
He's still a work in progress but he is the first to admit that, which is good.
There's still a lot we need to learn about him. Can he deal with pressure? does he have an inside game? can he cut off a ring if he has a mover in front of him? can he make adjustments if Plan A isn't working? - He did get rocked by Whyte and went stiff and looked tired for about 2 rounds before getting a second wind, i don't think a good accurate finisher like Haye would have let him off the hook.
So far so good in his career apart from a spell in the Whyte fight, but i'd need to see more sides to his game before saying he could compete with the top fighters. Maybe he has them, we just never had chance to see them yet.
Dan, do you see what im saying about AJ developing his countering game?
They arent perfect, but he is clearly working hard on them in the gym and pulling them off come fight night. The first KD in particular was beautiful, reminded me of a 244lb version of a Rigondeaux move.
Still has lots to work on im sure, but his dedication is paying off IMO, and im seeing improvements/new and refined skills pretty much every fight i see him in.
I reckon he will not fight the best this year, but hopefully we'll get a few tough, established contenders to see what he his really about.
Yeah I was impressed with those counter punches to be honest.
Perfect shots down the pipe not once but twice.
He looked good yesterday. Now to see how he does against the elite. If he can do that to Fury, Haye, Wilder, Parker, etc then I'll hold my hands up.
I think Joshua needs to ease up on the weightlifting, he needs to be more fluid if he wants to beat someone like Fury because at the moment he really does look and fight robotic, He certainly has power and he was a lot more calmer than he was in there against Whyte.
I know Fury said Joshua beat him up 6 years ago in sparring but Fury as come a longer way since then, he has learn to use his size advantage to win fights and this is one of the things Joshua would need to work on as he goes along his own journey.
One thing i like about Joshua is the fact that he himself recognise that he has a lot of work to do and like he said last night he is a quarter on his way through that journey.
My big worry about Fury is consistency. His head is a strange place and im not convinced he can maintain the standard he set for himself in the WK fight. Hopefully he does.
I think pretty soon Joshua is going to be the favourite, but right now it has to be Fury's to loose. Joshua will not like the movement and length.
Joshua defo went too far on the body building. But that doesnt mean he cant still become a very good boxer, even if he doesnt have as high a ceiling as he once did.

I'm not comparing him to anyone I'm talking in general. If I had to compare him to anyone it would be Frank Bruno but with less skills.
I completely disagree with almost every point you made.
I don't see any counter punching ability, he's certainly not quick IMO, not seen an inside game and defintely not an outside one. Seems to be like an aggressive fighter who walks you down and try's to blow you out, not seen any real head movement and he's very stiff and robotic.
That's my view. It's hard to judge his skill level or just general level at this point like I said the only part of his game I've seen that he made me think that was good is his punch. Nothing else has impressed me. You say his speed has impressed you it certainly has not impressed me.

He's already had plenty of experience against different styles. The fact you keep mentioning his getting knocked down and hurt is actually a great plus in his favour. We know Fury is the goods because of how he's reacted to that. Joshua just got his first chin check in his last fight, and while he reacted well, it remains to be seen how he does against a bonafide knockdown.
Fury I don't think your a bad geezer ...you rate fury I don't it happens...look joshua has not been knocked down and you will have to ask yourself who will be able to knock joshua down in reality....yeah it might a be massive shot by a contender but the contender is also gonna have to be in range of joshuas shots.....like it or not whyte is a decent power puncher who has knocked out most of his opponents and trust me when I say this Joshua took that left hook bang on the point of the chin coming forward....that was a monster shot because it was bang on target and he took it and came back almost instantly...if you look at the clip after joshua actually waves his glove at his chin and says bring it....the fact you have a lot of time for fury I respect that but it don't make me into a believer...I think it was in 1990 or 1991 I saw this fight on bbc between Gary mason who was 35 and 0 coming up against this not so well Olympic ex champion in lennox Lewis and bear in my mind LEWIS was a nobody and mason was the favourite ....after that fight finsihed I looked round to my dad and said this guy is gonna become a great world heavyweight champion...I knew it just by watching him...my mates said yeah sure f@ck off lol...low and behold LEWIS became in my eyes probably the greatest heavyweight of all time...and although I cannot see joshua being as great as LEWIS I still see him becoming something special...I am very seldom wrong when I see talent but of course that's just my view...my view is that joshua beats fury even now to be honest with you....but he's not inline yet so he will have to wait his turn and grow ...u like fury and fair play ..we will see...so you tried to make me a thief lol..
You said Leonard held a physical advantage over his opponents....which I have proven you wrong again....your a ****in idiot and a word of advice to you...I know more in my left bollock than you could ever know sonny ...your lose everytime
"Your" is the second person possessive adjective. The correct word to use is "you're" which is a contraction of you are.
Something to bear in mind next time you insult someone's intelligence.
Dominate the division lol...how is that ? He has just won one fight and he is still an unknown in terms of how he will cope with other challengers with different styles....you putting up your fan club on your page shows your not impartial and your actually the cheer leader......enjoy your membership this year...as for next year your gonna need to change fan clubs.....fury will get smashed to pieces by joshua .....it's coming....p.s thanks for the gift and when Joshua beats him it's nothing personal

:lol1: more bull****! A welterweight is a welterweight regardless of where they started, guys like Floyd, Pacquaio are welterweights nowadays and they cannot make the Jr welterweight division without going through hell. Their best weights may not have been welterweights but they are still welterweights now and they are the top of the division. The fact you can't come up with any welterweights today who are as big as SRL just showed how foolish you are and the only ones you came up with were guys considered big welterweights throughout history.

You said leonard had a physical presence over other welterweights...don't change the subject.....Wilfredo benitez was 5ft 10 , thomas hearns was 6ft 1 , Larry bonds was 6ft 1, Bruce finch was 5ft 9, ayub kalule was 5ft 10 , Pete ranzany was 5ft 10, Randy shields 5ft 11, roberto Duran was a lightweight and he was 5'7 and hagler was a middlweight and had the physical advantage..so don't try and tell me leonard had the physical advantage over his opponents you f@ckwit and finally wil you admit your wrong lol...nexttttttttt
Here we go with the skill bollocks again...
The fact of the matter is this;
Klitschko fought tentatively against Fury and allowed Fury to execute his game plan of boxing behind the jab, pot shotting. Why was Wlad so intimidated, perhaps it was the size of Tyson Fury or his pre-fight antics. Perhaps he didn't expect a man that big to move like that and punch as quick as he does. Speculation but two things are for sure, Wlad fought tentatively and he has never fought someone as big as Fury. Your comparisons are weak and prove nothing.
We'll agree to disagree, take your strawman with you.
That's your option but ok we'll have to agree to disagree.
Let's not confuse welterweights with guys like mayweather,cotto,Pacquaio...each of them are not natural welterweights and have moved up from smaller weight weight classes Leonard was a natural welterweight the same as don curry, Ray robinson, Wilfredo benitez was also 5ft10, Vernon Forrest was 6ft 1, Milton mccrory was 6ft 1 ...no leonard never had physical advantages over welterweights because natural welterweights were Leonard's height ..in fact if ever there was a natural welte eight sugar ray leonard was it bongo..mayweather started at super feather, pacquaio flyweight, cotto lightweight,Oscar lightweight, mosley lightweight...I hope you understand there is a difference between a natural welterweight to a welterweight nowadays lol

I think so!
Like Larry X thread about fighters getting hurt and how they react to adversity can tell you a lot of about a fighter. We seen Joshua hurt and in trouble and the dude handles it well, recovered an destroyed his opponent
Scary thing is that Joshua is only going to get better so by the time he reaches his Prime as a fighter he is going to be extremely hard to beat. Also was impressed with his ability to Cut The Ring off vs Kevin Johnson and Whyte, both have pretty good footwork for Heavyweights
Yes he is a bit stiff but hey so was George Foreman but he has good footwork for his size and very fast hands
Sicko at last some one who sees it with open eyes......your talking sense son and I like you....let's start a joshua fan club lol
I wouldn't mind having a conversation with you if you use a bit of commonsense. You're the crackhead who keeps saying Joshua will be fury is a few years basing your arguments on speculation! How insane is that?! You call that knowledge? I call that insanity. You keep saying the same thing over and over like a broken record. Do you really believe SRL wasn't a big welter? How many top welters nowadays have SRL's physical presence?

Wilder beats him, I'd probably favour Joshua to beat him based on his potential and working on flaws after Whyte. I actually favour Klitschko to beat him if he grows a pair, Povetkin to beat him and Joseph Parker.
I want to see Fury fight Carlos Takam, I even think Takam could beat him. But seriously Takam is a good contender better than Malik Scott or Pulev.
I think the same....fury I think would get brutally stopped by wilder simply because he can punch from a distance and he throws in clusters...wilder won't need to get tangled up in the games fury plays ....joshua beats him simply because fury does not have the power to hurt him or the chin to survive Joshua's punches...if klitchko just lets his arms go and not waits then he can beat him but he is so programmed it's hard to get him to do different at this stage of his career...not sure about povetkin to be honest as he would need to get close to hurt fury..but Parker on current showing could upset fury because he has size and good movement
I think so!

I know more in my left bollock than you do about boxing....I don't care if it's your, you're or yours , and you just been shown wanting for lack of knowledge , it was your comment in the first place that created my knowledge to over rule you....what was it you said ? Joshua wil not beat fury next week , next month or the next 2 years ...I beg to differ and my last word on this is when it finally happens that's if fury has managed to hold into his belts....your gonna lose a lot of money to me ....don't respond to me in the first place if you don't like f@ckin losing

That isn't using my logic though, is it.
Fast feet - so you can manoeuvre in and out of range.
Fast hands - land before your opponent, land on your opponent
Reach advantage - Further away from danger than your opponent
Height - He's 6ft9, when he leans back his head is further back etc things like that
Then all you need to do is jab your way around a very tentative and scared Klitschko. I actually have to give Klitschko credit for making Fury look that good, you're mistaking it for Fury being that good. Never have I seen a champion throw away his decade long reign like that.
Jennings has fast feet, fast hands and reach advantage. Only thing missing is the height. However is he uses his hand speed, foot speed and reach he should be able to stay out of range and win a decision right? He's got the reach and speed, should be easy if no skill is needed.
