People dont realize by GGG is creeping up on the middleweight title defense record, he is sitting at 15 defenses, 2nd highest of all time behind Bernard Hopkins. Anyone doubt that he will make 5 more successful defenses? He is fighting 4 times a year.
It could be argued that he deserves hall of fame recognition as it stands for 15 title defenses. That is not an easy feat. Considering that nobody outside of Bernard Hopkins has ever done it.
No it can't be argued.
tarver has as much chance to get in as jmm.. both are only known for doing one thing
Marquez is a Shoe in as the rival to a great champion, just like Sandy Sadler was a shoe in for his rivalry with Willy Pep.
that 15 defences includes his defences of a BS interim belt though
His first defense made him full WBA champion. His path from guy that fought nothing but bums to legit undisputed best of the division is paralleling hopkins run pretty well also.
Ward is not even close either....
Bradley is 10x closer then he is honestly.
Wins over Pac and Marquez and everything he did at 140. Even though the Pac win was BS, it will be weighed in him getting in.
Ward beat Froch, who I think will be a Hall of fame and that's really it. Kessler was a good fighter but he pretty much lost to all the top guys in that time.
Ward gets Kovalev,Stevenson or GGG names then he's a shoe in.
GGG needs to unify and reign for a few years and beat Canelo handily plus move up for a big fight at 168 against a champion considered top level..Degale,Jack or whoever is the man in a few years.
Canelo is definitely making a case for heading there someday. He's the guy who fights everyone in boxing these days. Close wins over some good fighters and a good solid win over An older Cotto look good on his résumé.

King Khan got wins over hofer MAB and borderline guys in judah and malignaggi. And he's been ducked by 3 guys that will make it Floyd, Manny and Bradley
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
I don't know if Tarver's getting in, especially considering the latest parts of his career.
I think everyone has already said the obvious ones, so I'll go borderline:
Cecilia Braekhus???
Holly Holm???

i could see Brian Viloria making it to the HOF due to his accomplishment in unifying his division, a feat that hadn't been done in almost 5 decades. On top of that he was steamrolling past good opposition and even flattened Segura back when he was in his prime and on some PFP lists.
Timothy Bradley easily has one of the best resumes of any active fighters. Controversial or not he has a win over two legends in Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao. As well as a slew of other top names and strong contenders,
Nonito Donaire is easily another HOF worthy fighter. Winning belts in 5 different divisions, with wins over other established and well respected fighters, continually fighting the best names out there, even if he loses those fights... He still displays the courage many other fighters lack and is always willing to challenge himself.
fvck off
Mosley yes...Bradley close..Canelo on the right path..Ward close..GGG and Garcia not even close
Floyd is not active and Roy i already listed

Pack of decent fighters to be honest. Decent is being generous.
Fair enough, I can't say I disagree with you. I feel as though he largely fought what was available to him though and I don't think he should be faulted for that. Plenty of other guys have gotten in with much worse resumes
You may be right. But I think he's done enough to at least be considered.
Multiple division champ
Destroyed nishioka (#1 rated super bantamweight at the time)
Destroyed darchinyan (p4p fighter at the time)
Destroyed montiel (p4p fighter at the time)
Beat a variety of world champs and top 10 contenders including:
Arce
Mathebula
Vetyeka
Sidorenko
Vazquez jr
Narvaez
Mthlane
Maldonado
Tyson Marquez
Raul martinez
Got shut out against rigo (amazing defense, p4p fighter) and ko'd against walters (big puncher, top featherweight). No shame in either loss. Other than them and lomachenko I would still favor donaire to beat all other 122-126 lb fighters today .
Way to defend your argument man. He did have some good wins I wonder if those losses will hurt him or not, if zab gets in then maybe donaire should as well
