First 32 fights were garbage fights with taxi drivers and tomato cans. Larry Holmes was 80 years old when he fought him. Michael Spinks was a good one. Lost to real opponents such as Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. Loses last two fights and even quits on his stool showing lack of heart and courage.
The only reason people think he is good is because he looked good against nobodies (his first 30-40 fights). I can easily record a video of myself knocking out 10 year old kids with autism, can I be the next Mike Tyson?
Nobody who knew what they were talking about has ever really praised Tyson's resume. He just had a fun style (in his prime) that makes him fun to talk about in fantasy matchups.
I genuinely can't recall ever seeing anyone say Tyson had a great resume. I didn't know it was an argument.
Do people think GGG hits as hard as Tyson p4p? I don't! GGG might be better than Tyson at some things, but I wouldn't be sure what GGG does better than Tyson?
Tyrrell Biggs was a common opponent of Lennox and Tyson and said Tyson was better so it kind of puts his abilities in perspective.
Also Tyson beat Bruno so well and Bruno wads a decent fighter so I'd never belittle Tyson at his peak
No GGG has already beaten more quality guys. Tyson sadly lost to all of the near prime or prime quality guys he fought less Ruddock(who fought like an idiot). Tyson is easily the most overrated all time heavyweight. I will say this he did usher in the super sized heavyweight era as girth wise he was larger than most of the opponents he fought. Today he would struggle with his size against a Fury or a non frightened Wlad.
Who are all these quality guys?
Fans loved his style and the whole 2-3 round TKO thing. It's the same with GGG, terrible resume, it's like Tyson's resume in the negatives. But fans love his style so they backup his resume. Writers even rank him highly at top 3 P4P with not one win against an elite. Best win is Martin Murray. No GGG has already beaten more quality guys. Tyson made his fans based on how he fought and people are rarely interested in who he fought because his knockouts were spectacular. But he reigned over a terrible era of the HW division.

You'd probably lose to a few of the less retarded 10yr olds
