First things first, both are great fighters and legends in their sport. But any one with knowledge of boxing will know that Floyd is a much greater boxer.
Here are a few reasons:
- Much tougher competition. Floyd beat Oscar, Pacquiao, Shane Mosley,Zab Judah... list goes on. Who did Tyson beat besides Michael Spinks?
- Floyd was smart and had better strategy. Floyd strategy = outsmart, outbox, frustrate, counter punch and neutralize opponents. Tyson strategy = look like a bad ass and knock him out in one round - which resulted him in losing 6 times
-Floyd defeated 23 World Champions. World Champion in five different weight classes. Tyson only fought at one weight class
- Floyd had more skill/expertise and technique. Tyson relied of fear, intimidating and natural strength of his punches
- 49 - 0 baby
Of course, Pacquiao, De la Hoya, Mexican boxing fans will all disagree because of their hatred for Mayweather, but anyone with at least half a brain will know Im spitting the truth. Tyson was good. Mayweather was the best
This guy is not even using his brain. A lot of Floyd critics are arguing using emotion not logic.
Use your brain man. Ask the average boxing fan if they know who George Benton is. Then ask the if they know who Floyd Mayweather is. I'm sure far more people know Floyd than George Benton. Before Floyd became popular you rarely saw people using the shoulder roll. Now, a lot of up and coming boxers are using it. If you don't think Floyd is the reason for that then you ar simply not thinking.
that lady in uk don't know Floyd
Only on NBS would you find people debating who comes out the best in a situation where guys rape or beat a women.
As for legacy. Tyson has massive legacy in terms of being well known. Everyone knows him, even casual and non boxing fans know him and have seen his KO's. Only him and Ali have that stature.
Mayweather has the best resume and will be ranked higher.
isaac clarke started it
as for legacy they will be remembered for what they did in and out of the ring.
I know he didn't invent it, but do you really think that Randomupandcoming Fighterin2015 is trying to use the shoulder roll because he saw George Benton doing it?

If you want to look at it that way but it's been done long before Fraud did it so I don't see how he made it more popular ..Guess it's the world we live in today .

Mike captured the imagination and was exciting more than Floyd ever could so in that sense is greater than Floyd. Tyson fought everyone available at that time, bar Holyfield and Lennox Lewis as they weren't ready in a sense with Holyfield a cruiserweight and Lennox still learning the trade. But Tyson didn't ask for CWs and worry about what gloves people wore or that the people he fought were bigger than him.
Floyd is smarter and in that sense is greater and has a better resume.
He never says Mayweather invented the shoulder roll. The guy you're replying to is pointing out the fact that Floyd has popularized the shoulder roll moreso than any other fighter. That is all.

Floyd took a layoff to avoid prime Cotto, Margarito and Paul Williams. Tyson had a jail time, but he didn˙t take layoffs on his own to aviod dangerous opponents.

i know floy would never rape a woman that's not his type.

Hmmm....You appear to be living vicariously through that story. Good on you.
Tyson was also a wife beater, so....

only in isaac's world raping a girl is worse than beating numerous helpless women to a pulp gloves was never an issue then.

Only in Rath world is beating your ex worse than raping a virgin teenage girl.

Tyson isn't even a top 10 heavyweight. Casuals like him for his KOs and antics.
That's how boxing works. One guy dedicated himself to his craft, constantly sharpens his skills, works out at 3am, stays in shape year around, took every opponent seriously and won every fight.
The other guy let fame get to his head, lost to Buster ****ing Douglas, made excuses for getting obliterated by Bus, lost the biggest fights of his career, quit on his stool, bit an opponent that was totally outclassing him and was kissing Lennox Lewis and calling him poppa after getting his **** pushed in.
I guess people can relate more to the loser that took the easy way out and failed when it got rough.
Mayweather didn't invent the shoulder roll Hell there fighters long before him who did It

disable your account and leave the site now if you're looking to get away from the stupid ytbc rhetoric because nsb has a lot of those same retards posing on here. watch the poll results if you think i'm lying.......tyson will actually either be close or he might even win the poll which is fvcking absurd.
:lol1::lol1:
Floyd Mayweather Jr. 19 46.34%
Mike Tyson 22 53.66%
I'm no fan of Floyd's but I see evidence of his legacy virtually every time I watch a fight these days. Somewhere on that card you will find someone attempting to fight like Mayweather. He has inspired a giant portion of the generation of fighters who came up watching him and while 99.99999999999% of them will never quite get that shoulder roll down perfectly, I'm of the thinking that 50 years down the line you'll still see prospects coming up attempting to master that man's style. I've seen fighters drop their hands in front of their opponent and turn the shoulder, allowing themselves to be hit (like Mike Seals), and you know exactly where they got it from.
