If any, out of the current contenders? :boxing:
Clearly size is gonna matter here. Fury against much smaller guys will most likely see him morph into Vlad and just hit and hug all night.
But anyway we have..
Wilder
Povetkin
Joshua
Haye
Jennings
Parker
Ortiz
Ruiz
Anyone missing? Imo the contender needs to be of a similar height, some speed, some movement, a solid jab and most important a HUGE punch (lol so basically an all-round game)
I think Wilder and Joshua probably have the best chance because those two are perhaps the biggest punchers in the division today and they will go to the body aswell which is something Tyson didn't have to worry about against Vlad who is simply lacklustre in that department.
Povetkin is the only one with a shot, everyone else has a punchers chance. Anthony Joshua is at least 3 years away from being close to ready and needs a new trainer.
My exact thoughts.

U forgot Arreola.
Wlad might get a rematch. So in that case I'd give Fury the slight edge in beating him again. I think Fury has every right to tell Haye to f*ck off. He really screwed him over backing out of the fight.
Wilder would be an interesting fight. I say let Fury rematch Wlad or get soft defense early next year, like Briggs! Then have Wilder vs Fury next. Imo Fury beats him.
Povetkin and Hayes are the only ones with a chance I think.
Skills ? All I saw last night and in previous fights was a slow flat foot monster relying on reach, weight and height advantage to reach his goals...
That's because you know **** all about boxing.
Povetkin has no chance, he's too small. Wilder has a punchers chance, but he's levels below Fury in terms of boxing skill.Skills ? All I saw last night and in previous fights was a slow flat foot monster relying on reach, weight and height advantage to reach his goals...
Intersting to wonder how long fury will reign for...I can't see Joshua being the guy to swoop in, it is still too soon for him to go for that.
Haye will probably try and kick up some fuss after his comeback fight, which if he wins and looks good will probably get some backing with some fans, but Haye seriously does not deserve that shot so I doubt that too.
Wilder vs Fury is interesting...total clean sweep of the heavyweight titles but I am really not sure on Wilder having the beating of Fury to be honest.
Stranger things have happened in the sport of boxing than Wladimir winning them all back in the rematch but unless he adresses the issues he displayed last night then that isn't going to happen either.
If Fury defends them all in the rematch, then we can start having a better idea at who will actually be around to potentially beat him but for now it is pretty hard to tell.

It's gonna be interesting because with Fury being only 27 he's likely to be around for a while so if the young guns like Joshua fail against him we could see a long reign for the gypsy king.
Not a great heavyweight division right now.
Probably Wilder with his power could give problem to Fury.
I think original Mike Tyson in his prime would knock Tyson fury out in 1 or 2 rounds.
I think povetkin can do it. The way wlad was allowed to hug and lean on him was a disgrace. In a fair fight he can become the champion.
Wilder might do it. Haye also depending on what he has left, his legs and reflexes might be gone at this point.
Definitely not the coward wilder. Bum squad will only fight guys ranked 20 to 50.
"Bum squad" LOL good one. But yeah with Deontay he's got massive reach himself, is tall and has probably a big punch than Tyson!..also can move as he showed against Stivern!!..i think it would be an interesting battle tbh.
