I wanna see Thurman win, but if I was making a pick today I'd probably go with Porter (although I don't love that he got dropped by Broner). And on the flip side, Thurman has been hurt to the body by guys who aren't as good to the body as Porter. It will be one guy chasing the other and the start of each round and backing him to the ropes and working him over and that is Porter.
Porter will put it on Thurman but One Time will be catching him as he comes in, who wouldn't with that reach and height advantage. Close fight though, for me!What height and reach advantage? One has a half inch reach advantage and the other has a half inch height which makes them the same size.
Each guy backed him up for literally a round or two each, and got beat up in the process for it. I don't really see your arguement here as neither guy really had any sucess. On the other hand, Porter was completely neutralized by a jab and clinch strategy which Thurman will be taking notes on.The guys that backed up Thurman are no where near Porter's smothering, pressuring style and they backed him up more than one round. Collazo was nailing him and so was Guerrero and it was very obvious he had less success during those rounds and was even hurt to the body on both occasions and was very uncomfortable being pressured. And Thurman doesn't use a perfect jab like Kell Brook or have the same pinpoint timing either. Thurman relies on athleticism and doesn't know how to employ a jab and clinch strategy which wont help him against a better physically stronger fighter. And Porter showed since the Brook fight how to avoid being clinched by using more angles and breaking free. Only one fighter is comfortable inside and that is where the fight will take place for most of the fight with Thurmans back against the ropes or running away. Porter's style does not allow for Thurman's style to have breathing room. Porter will win the fight by making Thurman very uncomfortable with no breathing room. Thurman wont be nailing Porter when he comes in because he will already be in, all the time, every round.
Is this freaking fight even happening? Come on, sign it already!
I think Thurman wins a pretty clear decision. Porter will have trouble landing anything really clean and closing distance, and Thurman will land hard counters to discourage him. Could be a bit of a messy fight. Porter's style naturally lends to messy fights and Thurman isn't an inside fighter.

This. Thurman punishes guys as they come in (although his competition hasn't been too great). Besides, what's wrong with being backed up for a couple rounds? Especially if you catch them coming in. A lot of people think taking a step back is a crime. Porter will put it on Thurman but One Time will be catching him as he comes in, who wouldn't with that reach and height advantage. If Collazo and Guerrero could back Thurman up, Porter pins his back to the ropes and works him over. Porter's style is all wrong for Thurman who needs the right distance to get his shots off and Porter will not allow that. Thurman is very uncomfortable on the inside as well as being backed up and that is where Porter lives, what defines his style and strengths.

Thurman has exceptional movement, it's not going to be easy for Porter to close distance on. If he can close distance, I expect Porter to win, but by the same token he could get caught on the way in. Tough to call.
I don't really expect this fight to happen though.

Is Shawn Porter going to fight Keith Thurman or Is Shawn Porter going to be part of WBC Tournament? Why can the boxing media ask team Porter the question?
I wouldn't worry about it. Boxers can be good friends and still try their best to win. They are fighting for bigger paydays in the future so they put friendship aside. great point. i hope they bring it
At his best, Porter has one of, if the best, inside game in the WW division.
That's not much of an inside game at all, it's not even worth noting. That's like saying Bika has an inside game, both can be similar up close, granted Porter more organized with it but you get my point.
Funny how we've been reduced to hypothesising about a matchup between two contenders of the same promotional stable. Get used to it because that's all it'll be: a fantasy matchup.
Al Haymon saving boxing, y'all!

To give him a tag like that he has to of proven it time and time again. Only time his inside game was worthy of that tag was against powerless Paulie, a former very good fighter who had little resistance at that point of his career.
I got Thurman by KO.
Porter is too sloppy. He even got knocked down by Broner. Porter used to fight at middleweight and he got KD by a blown up light welterweight?
F#cking this. Heard nothing, then its Dec. 12, heard nothing & than its not Dec.12, than its Jan. 23, heard nothing & than its not Jan. 23 (it would seem anyway, can't see this as a co-feature to Garcia vs Guerrero) & now what the f#ck is going on.
I think this is a super close fight & I'm really excited to watch it whenever it happens.
Same here, I think it's a toss-up 50-50 fight. Like you said the date keeps moving though and we still haven't heard the official announcement yet.
Just hope Haymon and PBC aren't having second thoughts about making this fight.
