I'm a big 3g fan, why doesn't he get shiz for not fighting ward but canelo gets it

Someone needs to start closing these threads. Surely every single angle of the 'Ward/GGG/Canelo/Cotto" debate has been done a thousand times by now

I am a Canelo fan, but this catchweight stuff is pure bullcrap. I criticized Cotto when he did it, and I will criticize Canelo just the same if he does it(which he seems he is planning to do). People are letting their hate of GGG get in the way of looking at this situation objectively, let's say it was any other middleweight opponent do you think it's right for Canelo to severely drain his middleweight foes just because he is the "A-side". I understood it when he was fighting at 154, as much as people complain about his size most of the 154 fighters he faced where around his size and two of them were actually bigger(Trout and Angulo), but parading himself as the Middleweight champion and fighting at 155 is simply ridiculous. I would think that boxing fans would want to see these two fight at even ground to see who truly is the better fighter, and that can't be done with a catchweight(and a ridiculous one at that 155 is one pound above ****ing light middle).

I mean what gives.... andre ward has been calling gennady out saying he has proof that he's tried to make the fight. why does he get a pass for not moving up but canelo has to move up or he's ducking Because canelo has a belt and fights within the same division. Is this a serious question?

GGG is not obligated to fight Ward at 168 because GGG is the middleweight champion and he is a career middleweight. GGG has never fought at 168 in his life. Ward is a career 168 pounder and GGG has no plans to leave middleweight. Why should he fight a much bigger Ward when it does nothing for his goal to unify the middleweight division and get all the belts? The Canelo situation is completely different. Regardless of the fact that Canelo won the WBC middleweight title at a catchweight of 155 he is still the champ now. The proper weight limit for middleweight title fights is 160. People are asking Canelo to defend his WBC title against number 1 challenger GGG at the standard legal weight of 160 pounds. That is totally different than the GGG-Ward thing. GGG is not and never has been in the 168 pound weight class and has no obligation to fight Ward. This just a fight Ward and his fans and GGG haters want at 168 so that GGG is at an 8 pound disadvantage. GGG did say he would go to 168 for Froch but Ward is better than Froch and everybody knows it. Ward challenged Mayweather to fight him at 160 but Ward won't go lower than 168 to fight GGG, Why not?????????

I'm not even a Golovkin fan, but Ward is a huge joke. He never showed any interest in the fight. He just pretended he did. People need to wake up and stop this nonsense.

Canelo is the middleweight champ, GGG has not fought at Super Middleweight. I would like to see GGG fight Ward, but it isn't comparable to Canelo avoiding GGG whilst waltzing around with a Middleweight strap.

Ok since u don't get it canelo has been a mw, above 154lb, for last 2yrs n is now the champ which ggg is the mandatory to fight for. Now ward hasn't fought since idk, n his last fight was at lhw which is 2division above mw. N u call uself a fan...

GGG is Canelo's mandatory, and Ward pretty clearly at this point only used the GGG talks for publicity to keep his name in the game, and gain him leverage in a deal of fighting bums leading up to a Kovalev fight. Ward was already planning a move to 175, at the recent news has made clear. Also even if the fight was signed, Ward would have pulled out with an injury to move up to 175 off the publicity.

Because Golovkin is mandatory to Canelo for the belt of the same division where as Ward's scenario has no such things. Is it so hard to understand you stupid dumbfck.

GGG has never fought above 160 and Ward is currently campaigning at 175 anyway. That's why.
