Let's say there was a boxer with the skill set, style and personality of Floyd Mayweather, but was English. Hell, an English Floyd Mayweather. How do you think the British public would react to him? Would he be as hated, more loved and appreciated?
I am curious because typically, the fighters throughout history British fans loved were the 'British Bulldogs" who wanted to fight. I wonder how the public would react to a more calculated, smarter but boring fighter who had more success than anybody in British history.
His name was Naz
and Floyd copied his persona
Although Naz was far more entertaining in and outside of the ring
Naz was more like the British Roy Jones. Crazy athleticism, flashy ring entrances (although Naz was more flashy), and not great technically. I don't see similarities between Roy and Naz.
But he was only like 27 when he lost, so not really. Btw I love naz he's the first boxer I can remember watching on hbo
27 going on 37
he peaked early, bad hands, weight problems due to an accident, trainer change etc...
naz was on the decline even before the antonio barrera fight.
amazing boxer, all the talent on the world, after his loss to barrera, Floyd Snr offered to train him....Snr was a big fan of him and believed in his natural abilities
But Naz heart was no longer in the sport and his hands were in his own words "brittle"
In his prime he was unbeatable....

Don't see the resemblance to Floyd and Naz. Naz and Mcgregor are pretty similar though. I've never seen Mayeather go around shouting I'm the fastest, I hit the hardest, I'm the prettiest and handsomest of all etc.
Floyd has his own dumb trash talking style while the other guys seem to be copying Ali. Just being honest, I think I just unintentionally complimented Mayweather even.

But he's obv not as good as Floyd. It's not just about the c0ckiness it's the skills too that factor
He would fight in front of 80k at wembley. I think Floyd would still have a big impact on American ppv. He would have to be like khan tho and have most of his fights in America. And not like hatton who only had 3 USA fights before he lost to floyd
Prince Naz was from England and Floyd essentially copied his persona. He never used to be like that back in the day, he was a choirboy type of guy but you'll see that Floyd switched it up soon after Naz debut in the USA with the Kelly fight. Floyd copied Prince Naseem Hamed (who is from England).
From what I heard, Floyd was actually humble in his Pretty Boy days.
Shows you how money changes people.
He would be very popular. But I also think he would be less of a dick. He just would never be as ignorant as he is if instead of being from Vegas he was from say.....Romford.

They would be wondering where he went to school
my question would be what if Floyd a Cuban?
he'd have been as popular as Rigo and would have lost those close fights he had with mexicans, etc... so overall he'd be about 600 million $ less off..
