This is what Golovkin and K2 were waiting for. This exact outcome.
Now he has a huge fight with Alvarez (much bigger than Ward), which never would have happened if Gennady had fought Ward already.
No way Canelo would have agreed to fight Gennady if he had already fought at SMW.
Now Golovkin-Alvarez can happen, and then maybe Lee or Quillin, and it's on to 168. One or two contenders, then Golovkin-Ward.
You get it now, guys?
I feel mean for saying this but it honestly seems that Golovkin fans tend to carry a lower IQ than the average NSB member. The arguments they make are so broken and illogical.
I don't even hate Golovkin. I just feel tha thalf the form makes up complete horseshyt to support their fandom for him.
Please don't judge all of us because the user "Golovkin" is retarded. Sadly, "Golovkin" the user stands out the most. lol

With Golovkin's insistence that the fight be at 160, I see Canelo happily becoming champion emeritus and moving on with his life.
Canelo will continue to fight at 155, 154 if a title opportunity opens up, and the likely next opponent is the winner of Clottey-Rosado.
You add that the Lee=Saunders winner is likely to fight either the Quillin-Jacobs winner or Eubank-O'Sullivan winner, and Golovkin is still up ****'s creek.
It's true, GGG-Canelo is a bigger fight. Ward just isn't a draw.
However, it's also completely irrelevant. What killed the GGG-Ward fight was by the time Ward came back the size gap had become too large.
I don't think they planned it this way. Why not? Because getting Canelo to agree to fight Golovkin will be the real fight. Visually, based on last night, Canelo has a far lower chance of beating Golovkin than Lemieux did, and everyone knows it. There's been no real evolution. He's still a slow toughguy who relies on weight games. A higher-class Chavez Jr.
I'm thinking Canelo-Cotto rematch, some half-assed "calling out" of Floyd while warming up against a nobody... Years will fly by while he changes the topic.

Austin Trout, Perro Angulo, and Lara aren't household names either.
If Canelo wants to be MW champ he has to prove it vs the best fighter in the division(also his mandatory)
That's true but money always plays a factor in making these type of fights...IMO Canelo has the edge as far as A side and B side...its risk vs reward and Canelo can fight lesser names for more $$$ than Triple G can...Canelo being Mexican has a bigger following and can dictate negotiations to a certain point...Canelo is asking for a 155lbs catch weight which I don't like but I think 157lbs would be fair...
Canelo and Triple G will not fight anytime soon...IMO Triple G isn't a household name yet where as Canelo has fought Floyd and casuals know his name...It always comes down to $$$...they'll wait to build it up...

Lol yeah, go down in weight for a fight in a different division. You guys are absolutely ridiculous thinking he should have to go down in weight to fight for a title in his Own weight class. Then you have the nerve to compare it to asking for a catchweight, 164, in another division. You guys are so biased and irrational it's nuts. You dont even realize how absurd what you're saying is.
Golovkin doesn't HAVE to do anything. He can pick up the vacant belt if he insists on not meeting Canelo's requirements.

He shouldn't have a problem going down in weight for a big money fight. He said he would.
But if this is too much of an issue for him then he can pick up the title when Alvarez vacates it. No need to cry about it.

That's great but he shouldn't have to go down to fight for a title in the same weight class, it's ridiculous. If canelo still fought at 154, sure go down, but how youre okay with canelo demanding a guy drop five pounds to fight for a mw title is mind boggling. The real issue in this instance is canelo not ggg.

GGG said he would go down in weight for a big fight. Well, here's a big fight staring him right in the face.

Thing is he still ducked Ward , he could have fought Ward Canelo can have another MW fight win against a top guy , and then GGG beats Ward comes back to MW and the Canelo fight is a blockbuster , much bigger than it is now .
It meant investing in winning the high risk Ward fight to ultimately make the Canelo fight build to where people think Canelo can win then its huge , right now people dont think that Canelo can win .
:lol1: because going up to 168 and then back down to 155 for Canela is so easy right?
Retardation man...
GGG offered a 50/50 everything, that's quite frankly not bad for Ward. Nope, Ward is the diva and Ward gets what he wants
Shouldn't canelo man up and allow the fight at the full limit? How is manning up going down five pounds within your division for a belt? I get you guys don't like him but this makes no sense.

GGG ducked Ward man just let it go...
Not saying that it wasn't the right decision, but he had no intention of fighting a healthy Andre Ward, ever.
Ward wasn't ready to fight then.
He's not fighting now.
He's wasn't even fighting at 168.

Canelo is going to force Golovkin to fight at the weight that Canelo wants. If GGG doesn't accept then there is no huge fight.
Let's hope Little G mans up otherwise we will have gotten neither Ward-GGG nor Canelo-GGG.

Golovkin isn't going to ever fight Ward.
You know, if Kovalev defeats Ward.. Ward might try fighting a big name because of desperation, GGG might be available by then. We all know Ward wants to cement his greatness. Although, they'd need to meet at 168
