I have barely seen anything on mainstream media regarding the fight. For a fight that people were predicting would do at least 1 million PPV buys there is absolutely zero buzz for this fight and we are two days away! Did the Mayweather/Pac fight turn the casuals/mainstream off that much?:grumble:
even on this site, i dont get a sense of buzz...i expected this place to be a war zone but motherfvckers talk more about Rousey or what Broner is up to than the fight
:lol1: so true. The site seems kinda slow too. We need the peasant crusher to get things started
I don't even think I have seen one commercial for this fight, I didn't watch any TNT basketball though so there should have been some there.
Looking forward to it though.
I've actually seen a bunch of them on the TV's at the gym I go to. Not sure what channel it is, maybe ESPN, but I know that I've sen at least one commercial for it every night I'm there.
Originally fighting for the middleweight title at 155 pounds, that's the first mistake. Then Cotto with this WBC bullshiet crushed some of the intrigue. Above all, Pac-May likely ruined most PPV values for the next 3 years or so.

Iono I saw a lot of repeated segments on the fight on ESPN in the morning
And have heard about it on Spanish radio
And a lot of Hispanic FB have posted the face off

You are wrongly assuming that casual fans guide/influence the media and their focus, when the truth is the other way around.
Maybe Cotto/Alvarez didn't pay enough or don't have the connections
I have PR friends and they don't really care about this fight I was kind of shocked I thought this was the biggest fight for the Latino Community
Perhaps there's more buzz in the Mexican community because it seems that Canelo has a lot of support and stake riding on this one.

That's part blame. Turned off a lot of ppl but the fight is all I'm thinking about.
Hype really aint there. It's ok though. DLH did his best by trying to bring hype into the equation with his 1.5 mil, floyd, rousey cover talks but it just isn't happening.
I just want a good fight. I still haven't picked who I'm going for in this one

You must not have any Latino friends.

Maybe it's because the fight has been unrelentingly positioned as Puerto Rico vs. Mexico, so who else really cares? The media in those markets are (I assume) going bat***** crazy right now. But I'm sure many "mainstream" media in the states probably assume the fight is mainly only for those groups.
