Everything about this fight makes me want to watch it. Even though Froch has been out of the game for a while and is 'getting on' a bit, the Cobra comes to fight. He has beaten everyone they've put in front of him other than Ward, and knows how to use his jab (unlike Lemieux).
I can see it being a battle of the jab for the first few rounds, then an action-packed for the rest. Golovkin wants to keep that KO streak going and let's face it, Froch can only win by stopping Golovkin. That's why he will try to do, with everything he has got.
Ultimately I see this fight going the distance, Froch being knocked down once and Golovkin getting a decision.
How can you not love this fight?
I'm really close to putting you on ignore. You're understanding is very limited it seems.
Macklin wasn't a bad fighter when he fought GGG and stood on even terms with Strum and Martinez. Martinez is definitly better than Froch.
:lol1:
YOU'RE right. Who is to say that Froch is any better than Geale or Macklin? Anyone who says that is obviously a GGG hater. Also anyone who says Kovalev is better than GGG is also clearly a hater.
God damn these haters and their perfectly logical thinking!
Yeah man! Totally! And whose to say Froch is any better than Macklin?
Phuck tha haterz!

To me it also seemed like Carl and the recent comments to Hearn will try to make GGG move up even higher and wants to fight him only at 170 or even higher.
Carl is really much bigger than GGG and has a longer reach as well. GGG will have to work hard and will take a couple punches to get to Froch, but ultimately he will hurt Froch more than Froch hurts GGG. I see Froch winning a couple early rounds but GGG just being more comfortable as the rounds go by. GGG will hurt Froch in the mid rounds and stop him in the last third of the fight. Round 8-10 KO/TKO.
I wonder want happens if GGG easily beats Froch like all the rest of his opponents.
I remember back when he fought Macklin everyone was saying it was his toughest fight to date and then Afrter GGG easily beat Macklin everyone called him a bum.
I think we'll get the same result and same responses.

Carl looked great in his last fight, and I hope that's how people remember him. But, don't be fooled into forgetting how rough he looked in the first Groves fight and how downright sad it was to watch him in that sluggish, 2nd Kessler fight. This is bone-picking for Golovkin. Let the retired stay retired.
All I want for Christmas is Golovkin vs Canelo. I really hope Canelo doesn't duck after he beats Cotto. That will be three generations of Latino legends becoming cowards in the presence of Triple G and voiding contracts to weasel out of their beatings while the whiny Americans cry "who he beats, he didn't beat nobody!" When Sergio Martinez ducked him for a mandatory title challenge for years, the Cotto ducked him like...a duck and now Canelo is already talking about ducking if he wins. Caesar Chavez Jr ducked out of fighting GGG, Floyd refused to acknowledge the fact Gennady would come down to 154....why? Because he knows he's a threat. The guy has beaten 6 or 7 top 10 MWs all by knockout and anyone with an eye can tell he's incredible. His amateur career is insane too.
Meanwhile he offered to fight Ward at 164, Ward who has been out for over a year and is trying to get gimmie fights at above 168...But GGG is ducking, the different is GGG is a MW and the guys ducking him are in his division with belts and mandatory defense clauses where they are supposed to fight him so anyone saying "but he won't fight Ward" you are a moron this is as open and shut as it gets. A lot of racist boxing fans and just piggish haters.
Not terribly interested in Golovkin going up to 168, especially to fight a semi retired pretty old Froch...who is great but eh, I'd rather him face Ward too, but I'd rather Ward face Kovalev and Canelo face GGG. If GGG gets ****ed over again by Cotto/Canelo, then he should probably either fight Froch, Lara or the winner of the Andy Lee title bout.

i feel like Froch knew all along he wasn't done and he just wanted to spend some time with his newborn without being bothered so he took the time to do that and stayed in decent shape, if he did it will be a good fight bc the power and size advantage but who knows if thats what really happened, either way its gggs toughest fight to date and deff fan friendly, also if ggg wins it makes more hype for the ward fight and hopefully he will be forced to do it
Taylor never really hurt Froch, it was the speed that troubled Froch more than anything. Golovkin is pretty slow despite being a better puncher than Taylor.
GGG a little slower but I think his timing is much better.
GGG would win by KO. He is ten times the fighter and puncher Taylor is and Taylor hurt Froch a lot. Froch is not as good now as he was when Taylor dropped him. I doubt Froch will go through with this fight. It's one thing to talk about fighting GGG and quite another to actually fight him. Froch is a good fighter but GGG is a better one and he can spot him the weight and still knock Froch out.

would be a great fight, but its been a while since Froch has fought, a tune up wouldn't hurt.
Froch is pretty old and had some grueling fights and is probably comfy chilling at the crib

Ward vs golovkin would have been so much better
2 undefeated fighters that look unbeatable.
Instead we get golovkin vs froch.
1 undefeated fighter vs a past prime fighter that has been out for over a year
Good style matchup, but no glory for golovkin if he wins
Froch being bigger and having the reach advantage are fairly new problems to GGG and he is of course also easily more proven than anyone GGG has ever fought. That being said he has seen better days.
I'm picking Golovkin to win on points. I think this is a good fight and real test for GGG that will give us a much better idea of where he is against top fighters. It still won't make him P4P #1 obviously but it'd be much more telling than either Murray or Lemieux.
Agreed. But I think the fight itself would be great to watch
