Since AJ turned pro, he's been billed as the next great heavyweight hope & potential champion. And he very well might be, however, in his first fight - which was beyond cringe - he was billed as "the next people's champion".
I mean, first off, you don't really build yourself like that in my opinion. Secondly, he's not a people's champ kind of person.
He's extremely talented obviously, big and strong and very skillful, but he's also very arrogant and doesn't really come across as the sort of guy next door.
In my opinion, since Dillian Whyte came back, his reputation as being a stone cold thug has changed a lot. He's always smiley, has time for everybody and really comes across the normal 'bloke down the road' kind of guy.
He is also a straight up kind of person as AJ himself found out in the Klitschko camp a while back, so did Malik Scott and recently Johnny Nelson said on IFL TV that Dillian came over to him and told him they needed to straighten some stuff out - and then they were good.
Since AJs hype got insanely big after 5-6 fights, I've liked him less and less as a person. I like him a lot in the ring, but outside the ring he comes across as big headed and arrogant.
Dillian Whyte is the exact opposite.
Who do you like out of the two? Or who do you hope to win?
Btw, if you haven't seen Dillian Whyte fight yet, go and look at some of his early pro fights. He was pretty scary then.
Anthony Joshua appears to be a bona fide elite "A" level heavyweight, the first one to come along since Wladimir Klitschko in 1996.
.
Based on what?
They said the same about David Price at the same stage Joshua is at now until he ran into Tony Thompson. If you don't believe me, go back through this forum to around the time just before Price fought Thompson. Everything they're saying about Joshua now, they were saying about Price then.
I'm not saying he can't be, but people are jumping the gun a bit with Joshua. There's been plenty of guys who have looked great at the stage Joshua is at now.
It's easy for Dillian to be how he is. He doesn't have the sponsorship and contracts that Joshua does.
Joshua is very much Flowing the K brothers clean image to make more $.
I have no problems with that.
I prefer how both Whyte and Joshua are to how Fury conducts himself.
I like them both. I feel Joshua can make the most shakes on the world level, and i'm excited to see how he does on that stage, so i will be pulling for him to win.
I like Whyte though. He comes across good on the TV IMO.
Joshua is going to be a huge draw. In fact I'd argue he already is. Out of all the boxers I've heard name-dropped in casual conversation, by casuals, here in the UK, Joshua tops the list.
I think he's a decent guy, does a lot of things the right way, but I warn you in advance his growing fanbase will be unbearable at certain points. He'll catch some flak by association.
I like AJ as I've met him many times on a personal level and we've always got along. We even used to have a similar circle of friends although, from what I've heard, he doesn't spend as much time with them now but it isn't anything personal, he just doesn't have a huge amount of time to spend lol
But, from tv interviews and so on, I like Whyte's attitude, he even called Sky out on their bull**** hype of that Scottish guy against AJ.
Obviously, I'm a supporter of underdogs and I'd pull for Whyte but AJ is a guy I know and I'd like for him to win too. Hard to decide.
That was a golden moment. Johnny Nelson was trying to big up the big scottish guy who looks like a grown up version of Dorian Darch, and Whyte just wasn't having any of it.
That Scottish guy was a joiner by profession who got 6 weeks off work to prepare for that fight!
:lol1:
A lot of them are blatent
Wilder, Joshua, klitschko are all using.
Klitschko is almost 40 years old and looks like that
see natural heavies that height, fury, price, helenius and compare to the guys above
it's obvious
Joshua had that exact same physique in the Olympics where he was tested.
Also, he was tested two days ago.
I voted Whyte, as the division needs a stir up. I don't think Joshua comes across as arrogant though, but he has the Mr. Nice Guy image too much in him. Like a black Vladimir, lol.
It is hard not to like Whyte.
He comes across honest, up front and reasonable.
Joshua just sounds like a puppet with Eddie Hearns hand up his arse.
All you hear from Joshua is whatever Uncle Eddie tells him to say.
Klitschko is probably on PEDs too, Dillian was busted for some kind of stimulant. They probably all are. I'm not saying Joshua is alone.
But come on. It's like "natural bodybuilding" where everyone knows they just stopped their cycle in time for competition and juice the rest of the year. He is blatant.
I am not that clued up on drug testing or substances to be honest but one of my friends who isn't a big fan of boxing but never out of a gym says Joshua is clearly using HGH, the human growth hormone thing.
Apparently it can't be tested for using the methods we use to test boxers?
Maybe that's totally inaccurate. I have no idea.
Dillian is more likeable than Joshua
Even Wilder is more likeable than Joshua
However Joshua is probably the best boxer out of the three, despite being the most obvious steroid user in boxing history
Joshua was drug tested as late as 2 days ago.

Following the great tradition that the Klitschko's started.
That was a golden moment. Johnny Nelson was trying to big up the big scottish guy who looks like a grown up version of Dorian Darch, and Whyte just wasn't having any of it.
I know, me and my mates LOL'd so hard and then Glenn tried jumping in and DW just shut him down looool :boxing:
