FORMER IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch has revealed he is contemplating coming out of retirement in order to give a 'pasting' to the belt's current holder James DeGale.
Froch, 38, called time on his glittering 12-year career in July.
Prior to his decision to vacate his IBF title and retire, the Nottingham native was on a collision course with DeGale - who became the mandatory challenger for the strap with a fourth-round TKO victory over Brandon Gonzales at Wembley in May 2014.

Thats what google trends say about popularity of GGG vs DeGale in the UK!
GGG clearly ahead even in DeGales homecountry.

No chance.
There isn't the same narrative or controversy with Froch and DeGale.
Degale would be able to hype the fight, he has a potty mouth and would be in his element.
It would be a big fight, and worthy of a football stadium.
Froch deserves and expects nothing less.
Maybe Emirates Stadium, Degale is a gooner.
Froch began to look his age in Kessler II, and he's deteriorated considerably since.
If this fight does happen, I see DeGale winning.
He should stay retired. It was the correct call.
Froch / Degale would be massive in the UK, maybe even bigger than the Groves II fight.
These types of domestic fight are not that common but when they are made, you don't really need the USD.
Froch would spank Degale at Wembely, in front of 80,000 fans.
Sweet.

DeGale the fight fans want? DeGale the bigger draw?
I mean look at the top comments, its funny.

And then GGG

Its pretty clear what the fans want to see.
This is all you need to see to see how genuine Froch is about fighting again. He's a shameless attention whore.
I'm not making it an any stronger case than it already is. DeGale should be more popular than he is, but he's not. It's why DeGale & Hearn would bend over backwards to get another fight with Groves.
If Golovkin/Murray had taken place in the UK we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. If Lee beats Saunders, and Lee/Golovkin happens early next year in the UK, it won't even be a comparison. And that's if DeGale gets by Bute. UK fight fans will take to Golovkin, where as they've already passed on DeGale.
No one cares about Andy Lee over here. That's why they've moved his fight with Saunders 3 times. He couldn't even shift tickets in Ireland in his hometown of Limerick. If they do Lee-Golovkin in the UK, it will bomb.
DeGale is gaining momentum with UK fans actually. He was booed heavily on his pro debut and most didn't like him for his antics in the Groves fight but he was cheered loudly on his last appearance at a UK show.
Again, I do live here. I would rather see GGG-Froch personally but I'm giving you a wider context.
Idk. Maybe they do, or maybe they put the brits on US time like Calzaghe/Lacy.
You can't fight at Wembley or in a UK Stadium at 4 in the morning.
And it would significantly decrease UK PPV buys staging it at that time.
Not the best predictor in the world, but here's Google's Interest over Time with the locations restricted to the UK:

The part you should highlight there is where Loeffler says...
"I’m not sure if it would be as much as Froch made against George Groves, because Golovkin would obviously be looking to get a bigger cut of the loot."
So why would Froch fight Golovkin for less than what he got against Groves?
I do take all that into account which is why Froch-DeGale is bigger than Froch-GGG in the UK.
Duh. You're just making the argument stronger.
Are HBO going to run an afternoon PPV?
Idk. Maybe they do, or maybe they put the brits on US time like Calzaghe/Lacy.
You are just a little bit emotionally involved it seems. Maybe too much?
I just posted some facts and number for you and all you can do is come up with some weird insults. Gay? Wow.. that hurts man.
Who made these polls? Your beloved Carl Froch on his own facebook site.
So all of 350.000 Froch facebook fans are gay online bloggers who wouldnt travel to the UK. Interesting assessment.
A little homophobic twat sitting in his basement day and night insulting people on a website that became his life.
Haha perfect picture :)

Stop. DeGale is an undercard fighter in the UK. Comparing apples to apples he hardly outdrew Golovkin on Channel 5.
01/03/2014 James DeGale-Gevorg Khatchikian - 810,000 (Channel 5 #25)
21/02/2015 Martin Murray v Gennady Golovkin - 740,000 (Channel 5 #29)
Now take into context that DeGale was a UK gold-medalist who had been on UK tv numerous times before and Golovkin was making his prime-time debut and that Murray/Golovkin was happening outside the country, DeGale should've been way ahead of Golovkin. Hardly a bigger draw. His boring style vs Golovkin's, fans would flock to Froch/Golovkin over Froch/DeGale.
Really? With his "boring style" fighting a bum in a leisure centre?
Whereas Golovkin was fighting a Brit for a world title. Why didn't the viewers "flock" to that fight?
Bottom line - casual fans in this country have no idea who GGG is. I know cos I live here.
I can always gauge it by which of my friends (none of whom are boxing fans) start asking about a fight. I've had a few messages about Klitschko-Fury but never any about when is Froch going to fight GGG.
Evidence?.

I don’t think Froch is going to come out of retirement, even though a fight against Golovkin would likely make him big money. I’m not sure if it would be as much as Froch made against George Groves, because Golovkin would obviously be looking to get a bigger cut of the loot. But the fight would be on HBO pay-per-view in the States, and on Sky Box Office in the UK, so the money would be very good. I can’t imagine why Froch wouldn’t want to come back to get that payday.

As for money, Golovkin brings HBO but does DeGale bring Haymon? If Haymon buys the fight for the PBC in the UK, then that could be bigger money, but then again Golovkn/Froch would sell more US ppv than Golovkin/Lemieux to the extent that I think Hearn & Froch know Golovkin brings more money.

... 13,900 'likes' for the GGG fight against 7,800 (DeGale)... I would like to see the "demographics" of these 'likes'... :)
