I ran into a fan yesterday who claimed that he thinks Canelo Alvarez should rematch Mayweather for a win. His belief is Canelo would win that fight with Mayweather because Canelo gained experience and learned from that fight. Are there fans out there who thinks he would still win? What's your prediction?
Bruh, WTH is makati tho? sounds like an island in tahiti
Ram rod city! The best part of Manila! Gonna lay pipe!
But more importantly, gonna see my daughter! Take her to the mall & school!
A mall so big I always quit half way through it! Too big!
Correct! Canelo should fight Manny! But after Floyd beat manny so easily...
I don't want to see Mayweather vs Canelo. I will watch it, but won't pay to watch it!
In 10 days I will be in Makati! Can't wait!
Peace bro!

I would say watch the Canelo-Cotto fight and use that as a measuring stick. If Canelo beats Cotto better than Mayweather beat Cotto I think it would indicate that Canelo has improved enough to beat Mayweather. Canelo would be over two years stronger and Mayweather would be over two years older and further past prime. The rematch would be at 154 so Canelo would not be drained as he no doubt was in the first fight. If Canelo loses to Cotto or just barely beats Cotto then Mayweather would probably beat Canelo again. Rematches don't always go the same way as the first fight. Just because Mayweather beat Canelo doesn't mean he owns Canelo for life. If Canelo beats the hell out of Cotto then I think he beats Mayweather in a rematch at 154. I know I will probably get a few triangle theories don't work. But often triangle theories do work especially if that's all you have to go on. If you believe Cotto is a better fighter when he is trained by Roach then Canelo will be fighting a better Cotto than the Cotto Mayweather beat.
Huh?
Floyd has never fought Canelo, he fought Drainelo
ginger cant even make 154, much less a bs catchweight of 152
I'd like to see a fight between Floyd and Canelo for the first time
too bad Floyd will never come back, not now that his ped testing will be carefully scrutinized due to his cheating with IVs, lance armstrong style

Why? It's pointless. The beating Canelo got was embarassing on so many levels. Losing to a 40 y/o Mayweather for a rematch will absolutely crush Canelo's confidence and legacy.

It would end the same way! Beating Kirkland is one thing. Even that Japanese guy ishida beat Kirkland!
Floyd is a whole other story!
Waste of time! Only Manny was easier Money!
floyd wasn't even very good when he beat canelo. he was outboxed by manny pac for crying out loud and limited maidana gave him hell and yet canelo couldn't do anything. it was like floyd was tom cruise in edge of tomorrow and knew everything canelo would do before he did it.
Canelo learned a LOT from the Mayweather fight and is a much better boxer because if it.. But I don't think he leaned how to beat Mayweather.
I think he'd be able to take him in 2017, but Mayweather retired at the right time, so age wouldn't be a handicap and things like that wouldn't happen.

So, you're basing Canelo's ability to avenge a whipping he took from Mayweather TWO years ago on how well he performs against a fighter that Mayweather beat FOUR AND A HALF years ago?
Do I have this correct?

Just no. No, no real boxing fan wants to see that fight again. At most, you might get an older version of Floyd possibly losing 2-3 rounds. Woooow, such an intriguing match!
No way Let that cheating coward Mayweather stay out of boxing Ban him for life
As for Canelo If he beats Pinky Cotto he needs to grow a set & face Golovkin at 150 for the Undisputed title
