I personally think the soonest we see a PBC championship is 2017. Haymon needs to accumulate more WBA/WBC/IBF titles first. It's just a fascinating dance to watch because we all know it's coming, the WBO knows it's coming, and somehow Haymon has convinced the WBA & WBC that it isn't. Not sure how the IBF feels, but they follow their rules, so it wouldn't really matter either way.
As many have pointed out, this has nothing to do with PBC and was discussed while the PBC was still effectively GBP.
If this arrangement goes through between the sanctioning bodies, they will undoubtedly change the name to something else instead of "Premier."
It's what I stated, something Jose's son has been talking about for a while now but I highly doubt it happens any time soon. Too much politics and too much corruption.
This is old news way before PBC existed. The WBC is trying to create unified champs and IBF and WBA are hoping along with it while WBO wasn't part of talks. What haymon is djinn is creating a PBC belt for his fighters frown the toad. Spokes and oranges.
Read the begining of the next paragraph: "The International Boxing passport, which will come into effect in mid 2011 ..."
Clearly, this is an old post from sometime before 2011.
The WBA, WBC, and IBF met twice in late 2013/early 2014 to talk about this. Nothing came out of it. WBO didn't want any part of it either. Isn't the WBO suing Haymon right now?
Funny to see the WBA involved in these discussions when they can't even unify their own organization. They just recently crowned an interim interim champion for christ's sake.
The WBA didnt want to be left out. The WBA have discussed dropping regular champions numerous times, yet nothing seems to happen. For a while, it seemed that the WBA stopped promoting to super champion, keeping 1 champ per division (+interim), around the time Broner held the WBA 147 belt. The practice was short lived though. I hope they sanction the WBA super belt for Jones-Enzo so that Lebedev could take them to court.

isnt that what a ring champ is??
No more belts please..
Id guess the 'premier' world champion would be the equivalent of an undisputed champion... the champ with all the belts
The RING title barely matters anymore. It was originally a lineal system, but the rules for the RING title have drifted away now, its lost a lot of lustre. Heres some examples:
Canelo-Trout was the for vacant RING title, yet a vacant lineage was established with Canelo-Floyd
Garcia/Khan was for the RING title, yet Peterson was ranked higher than both Khan and Garcia. Garcia-Matthysse established the lineage at 140.
Laughably, Floyd-Guerrero was for the vacant RING title. The May-Pac figjt established the universal lineage
Hernandez-Cunningham 2 was for the RING title, but no lineage really existed at cruiserweight
Vitali Klitshchko was the RING heavyweight champion even though hardly anyone recognised him as the clear no1. Theres tons of debate on this one, and this was way before the RING implemented their downfall.
Im sure you get the idea
Haymon wanted to have PBC Belts. The Idea of one champion. So pretty much the sanctioning bodies are doing kinda what Haymon wanted.
Adding a PBC belt to the multiple array of belts already out there isnt the idea of 'one belt'
Unifying the 4 major titles into one is
The two scenarios are completely different
Is this new news or old news? Cuz the WBC been trying to do that for awhile? But they can't get all the alphabet groups on board last I heard. Believe one alphabet group is 100% against it.
Obviously the name of it is interesting. Wonder if its the WBC saying "I see what you're doing Haymon" or if Haymon stole the premier word for himself or if this is new news & something that could be interesting involving alphabet groups for the first time in a long time.

All the title are still going to be around , its just the guy holding the WBA,IBF, WBA, WBO Permier world title is the main man in division

Well if you're the Premier champ, why would those other belts still be available? That kinda defeats the purpose.
The current belts that are now world titles will become interim titles for the Premier World Champion.. So if you have any of the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO current belt you have 6 to 9 months to cash-in your title to fight the Premier Champion...
I don't like the idea of providing oxygen to a fighter during a match -- if that's the plan. The aggressor works to tire his opponent namely runners and then this cunt gets a boost to do more laps GTFO.History would look a lot different right now if they allowed this back then ; the outcome would be in favor slick boxers and less KOs.

They said before, the other belts would become the unified champ's mandatories.

What does this have to do with Haymon?

ah, so nothing would change and the frauds running those shady organizations will continue to take bribe money. good. i hate change
Yep, and the WBA will then have claim to 5 world champions per division.
