Warning: Maybe this is the dumbest thread ever but at least its something different.
Imagine some sports science company developed a robot the same size and speed as lets say, Manny Pacquaio. The robot punches with similar power, is a southpaw, etc. Basically a replica (maybe it can even be controlled by a trainer with a remote control). How much money would an opponent and his promoter (especially a wealthy one like Floyd Mayweather) pay for this to be used in training. I would think if the robot is made well, this would be a very valuable asset for training camp.
How far off is technology from achieving this? I imagine it can be done, but would carry a 7 figure price tag. Also, it would be better if there was a computer system that tracked data, tendencies, speed, power, etc where you can change how the robot operates depending on what opponent you are facing next...(think floyd opening a screen and changing the opponent from Pacquaio to Berto for his next training camp).
With sports science, analytics, tendency tracking that is going in other other sports, there will be a day when boxing catches up. Or is the just not enough money and or smart people in boxing for anything like this to occur?
They are in the prototype stages...

Hehe.
Imagine if you just hit the Khan-robot with a semi decent shot and it then performed a baby-giraffe walk. :lol1:
This is very far off and just a dumb idea to use even if it were made right now.
The robot doesn't have human will, emotions, and thought patterns. Boxing is a support where you practically "undress" yourself in front of the crowd. Your character is on full display in the ring.
Men and even boxers would rather have a robotic sex slave that can mimic a moaning whore with throbbing labia when they have orgasm, self oiling orifice, plump textured breast etc.
I think this will happen many years before your sparing partner robot
If they invented something that costly and advanced the last thing investors would want is to some boxer practice hitting the damn thing as hard as possible. :pat:
Besides, robots can walk and do lot of things now but they still move very robotic, they're not fluid.
Clottey Inc. already produced one of those robots. Their first prototype called J.o.s.h.u.a. Clottey still has a boxing license and is fighting on a regular basis against other Pro boxers. The WBO hasn't caught up yet.

wtf? if they could do that they wouldnt use it for sparring. it would be in circus style, man vs robot ppv fights
Would be pretty cool. i wouldnt think technology would be to far off. Dont be surprised if it already exsist. ..
Being able to switch out length of legs and arms would be a plus.
