Could current or prime Hopkins disarm/breakdown GGG.
GGG is a monster it would not be easy. GGG jab is very effective.......

GREAT G is too strong, too smart, too experienced. he has everything. power, IQ, footwork, great chin, ring generalship, timing, everything. he's a universal monster. deal with it.
I think it's an even fight, prime Hopkins was no joke and can arguably match GGG in every category except power. Hopkins seemed to be vulnerable to speed and work rate throughout his career (RJJ, Taylor, Calzaghe, Dawson). I don't think GGG would overwhelm Hopkins in any of those areas.
GGG has the edge in power but Hopkins has always been known as a spoiler and was still able to neutralize power punchers in his mid forties. Hell it took a legit monster like Kovalev to prove that Hopkins was actually slipping and even that didn't happen until he was almost 50!
I know GGG is a special fighter but I would never count Hopkins out against anyone.
There is just no way of knowing. GGG wasn't tested yet. But if you think about it, Hopkins wasn't tested by really great middleweights as well. Or, if you count first fight with Jones, he failed the test (of course it was before their both primes...) Then he beat a lot of good solid fighters, some were great (but not as middleweights)... If Hopkins fought prime James Toney, we might had a better idea, but the timing was slightly off - when Hopkins became a factor, Toney was no longer a middleweight. The problem is - really great fighters don't come along very often and sometimes they don't have adequate dance partners.
ggg disguises his punches well man, and he has excellent variety on them
i take the bhop that beat tito over ggg
but i take ggg over the hopkins that beat pavlik.
pavlik allowed hopkins to clinch him when he would corner him. and when bhop ducked low kelly didnt throw any hooks to the body. ggg is an excellent accurate body puncher and he is strong in the clinch and has the feet to move backwards when bernard moves in for grab him
oh come on guys
GREAT G > John david jackson
GREAT G > Tito
GREAT G > Oscar
GREAT G > winky wright
GREAT G > B-Hop
GREAT G > Pavlik
GREAT G > jermain
GREAT G > maravilla
GREAT G > Cotto
GREAT G > canelo
GREAT G is too strong, too smart, too experienced. he has everything. power, IQ, footwork, great chin, ring generalship, timing, everything. he's a universal monster. deal with it.
He gets all the credit for doing something even Hopkins couldn't do, knocking out legit top ten MW and making it look easy.
Even Hopkins struggled against some comp he was facing and some of those guys weren't even top ten.
What were witnessing it truly special I can't think of the last time someone has just demolish legit champions and contenders like this.
**** is so unbelievable that fans are just giving him automatic wins over Canelo, Cotto, Quillin, Jacobs, and Lee and saying he should just move up.
:hahaha: tell me you trolling please because that is just fcking stupid.
B-hop even in his past prime already schooled ATG, HOF and Legit lineal champions like John david jackson, Tito, Oscar, winky wright, Pavlik, Tarver, or many ABC belt holder. B-hop does not K.O all of them because he is not a puncher but still comparing Little G's one win againts ABC belt holder to B-hop's legendary resume is really retarded.
people keep saying power power (pertaining to golovkin) do you nimwits get that it wouldn't matter against a prime hopkins? hopkins had an extremely strong body & chin. very durable work horse like fighter.
thats the very first thing thats gonna go against hopkins. he would take that right away golovkin wouldn't have anymore power.......hopkins could beat golovkin alone just with trickery. in the glen johnson fight he killed him with smothering shots. hitting johnson off the break. stutter stepping and then wacking jonhson repeatedly when he least expected it. golovkin would look like he's trapped in sand and his face would probably be beaten bloodied and ripped.
i don't know who in their right mind would pick golovkin against a prime for prime hopkins. athleticism gives hopkins problems not ultra slow guys like golovkin who doesn't even move their head. if you gave hopkins a fighter like golovkin (with as much power as you wanted) you basically just gave him a gift.
In their primes I'd take Hopkins and I think it'd be a downright ghoulish fight to watch. But the athletically gifted spoiler BHop was during his prime wins a wide decision over GGG in my opinion.
Right now, no chance. At 160, I'd probably prefer Hopkins.
Though I don't mind GGG facing Hopkins. Practically everyone praises Kovalev high on their list on P4P after he beat Hopkins.
Prime Hopkins has a good chance of defeating any middleweight in history. He was one of the best middleweights of all time. The current 50 year old Hopkins would get knocked out in my opinion. I think Kovalev didn't go for the KO out of respect for Hopkins. GGG would go for the KO and get it like he always does.
^^^ I knew about Chino beating Broner... don't know about this guy tho. (Silver)
But yeah, I see prime Bhop being too savvy and scrappy on the inside for GGG. GGG has yet to show me truly good inside skills though he is quite good, don't get me wrong. Pretty much how Bhop dismantled Tito is how he would get at GGG. Get inside and SCRAP in a phonebooth...
And your point is?
He passively accuse me of not knowing about boxing because I picked Manny over Mayweather.
But he picked Broner over Maidana.
We both picked wrong. So either we both don't know **** about boxing or we both do.
So maybe you should check your friend Larry X for making that silly comment.
PS, I picked Maidana over Broner. Anyone who saw the PDL fight should have known the outcome.
Mayweather over Pacquiao was a farily easy prediction. It was a good fight, the most competitive PPV fight in boxing, on paper. But, since the fight had been flirted with back in 2010, Vegas odds always favored Mayweather. It was pretty easy to choose Mayweather.
With Broner-Maidana, it was not easy to pick Maidana. Really only like 20 posters here chose Maidana, while 100+ picked Broner. My point is it was difficult to predict that Maidana would win.
If you don't mind me asking,on that 20 fight title defense run,who on that murdurous list of fighters, other than maybe Oscar, and Tito, makes you think that golovkin would lose that easily to hopkins?
Basically every opponent from mercado all the way to Trinidad were solid.
Broner was favored to beat Maiana by everyone. Most picked Broner, even experts picks favored Broner. It was an epic upset.

Prime bhop definitely had some intangible qualities. To me it's more that he was hard to beat than anything. Although he did have close fights against less than elite opposition, its still hard to picture him losing. Just one of those guys you could see beating anyone.
Height
B-Hop 6'1"
Golovkin 5'10.5"
Reach
B-Hop 75"
Golovkin 70"
Golvokin is going to have to reach to get at B-Hop and B-Hop in close will muck it up. Golovkin has to be at a certain point to be effective while B-Hop has leeway. Golovkin is good at range control but B-Hop is pretty good also, so that is a pretty tough ask to be able to get to a certain spot again and again. Add to that B-Hop is as tough as nails especially talking 160 B-Hop, so just getting there a few times isn't going to be enough.
Not a good match-up for Golovkin.
