while these two make a terrific HBO combo, Chocolatito puts on a master class of boxing and while GGG tries his best, I as a boxing fan cant help but feel that roman outshines Gennady and gennady knows this
Most defintely, IMO.
Roman is so fluid with his hands and feet whereas Golovkin is abit stiff IMO.
Roman has shown inside fighting, slipping and countering and just a lot more versatility.
lol, dude, no he didn't.
And yeah Viloria is way better than Lemieux. Lemieux just has elite power, nothing more. He was shown to be one-dimensional before fighting ggg.
I'm a massive Martinez fan but there's no way you can honestly believe Murray didn't come close to beating Martinez AND Sturm, unless you haven't seen those fights.
Look, you're going off of Viloria's reputation, rather than what he has done recently. But it's ok, if you just wana fan boy Gonzalez and Viloria that's cool.
What the absolute **** are you talking about!? Viloria a lesser opponent than Lemieux!? Get a grip!
Before Vilorias SD loss to Estrada he was a consensus top ten P4Per and had beaten an amazing run of opponents. He is so far ahead of Lemieux in literally every single way imaginable than even the biggest Lemieux ****sucker should be admitting that without any reservations.
Arguably better than anyone on GGGs resume? It's not arguable. He is undoubtedly better. No one on GGGs resume has ever been close to even approaching the top ten P4P or beaten the list of guys Viloria has. Viloria only went out after losing a SD to another P4Per in Estrada in a close war.
Julio Cesar Miranda
Omar Nino Romero
Giovanni Segura
Hernan Tyson Marquez
Juan Francisco Estrada
He only lost the last fight by SD. That set of opponents is as good as anyone in boxing over the last few years.
Listing a bunch of 112 lbers doesn't mean much. That division is weaker than MW has ever been, and it doesn't take a great fighter to dominate it.
At this point in their respective careers, Lemieux was a better, more dangerous opponent. Not to mention that Gonzalez got caught by Viloria a hell of a lot more than Golovkin got caught by Lemieux. Their both at the top of their weight class, but Gennady's win was more impressive.
---------------------
Both guys got the goods. While I couldn't stand HBO blowing Gonzalez from the opening bell, heck, they practically made the first round where Viloria put in good work, as if he didn't exist in the ring. BUT, he's an awesome little dude to watch. He really puts the beat down on you from every single angle imaginable and doesn't give you any time to breathe.
Viloria is no slouch. He's always fought at the upper level for many years and put in some really solid wins against tough competitors. He looked real good against Choco in the 1st round but the fact that he did and it didn't faze Choco one bit goes to show something about Choco's resilience and willpower. Viloria came out quite fast and looked frightening fast, it didn't faze him one bit.
GGG on the other hand, equally as brutal of a fighter, but because of the weight class, your not gonna see him dancing around as quickly as Choco for instance and peppering his opponent the same way. I could almost say they are equal in their own right in their respective weight classes.
Murray almost beat Martinez and should have gotten the nod over Sturm. Viloria hasn't faced anyone on that level since losing to Estrada.
I like Roman but I won't hype him up for no reason.
lol, dude, no he didn't.

A master class? No.
I would hope he looked better, considering he was fighting a lesser opponent than Lemieux in one of the most shallow divisions in the sport.
Master class my ass.

Gonzalez is great. GGG is obviously an elite fighter but Roman is far better to watch in my opinion. Way more dynamic and varied. GGG is robotic by comparison.
They both looked sensational and made very dangerous opponents look futile.
And they did that without running, they stayed in the pocket and out-timed them and stopped them.
You can't ask for more.
My observation on GGG/Gonzalez:
Choco needs to move up. He look weaker and balance not as good due to weight issue. GGG has better footwork and ring cutting ability. GGG greater power and better chin(both has great chin). Choco has killer inside fighting and combinations. These two warriors' punch variations are awesome. Some of the best in history.
I place GGG higher on P4P list than Chocolatito vastly due to intimidation and domination factor. Chocolatito breaks you down, but GGG destroys you!
Gonzalez got hit with a bunch of punches while it looked like GGG got tagged with 10 solid punches all night.
A matter of styles and the opponent. Roman came forward against an arguably larger man while GGG fought behind a really good jab against a smaller and shorter fighter with super short arms. Roman;s footwork and inside fighting is nasty and being an inside fighter, he's going to get hit a bit more.
why do some people think wlad is a better boxer than roman? roman actually boxes while wlad clinches(a tactic to prevent boxing from happening) roman is completely fluid, wlad had no rhythm at all. roman has good defense(rolling, slipping, blocking), wlad's defense is clinching(illegal), roman has an amazing punch arsenal, wlad has 2 punches.
You dont half talk some sh*t when it comes to Gonzalez, Soul.
Martin Murray :lol1:
Murray almost beat Martinez and should have gotten the nod over Sturm. Viloria hasn't faced anyone on that level since losing to Estrada.
I like Roman but I won't hype him up for no reason.
Nope, not at all. Viloria was once a very good fighter but its all about when fights take place. Currently, Lemeuix or Murray were better at MW than Viloria at this stage.
now, if you had said Estrada, then that's a different story.

Roman impresses the hell out of me
His infighting ability is nasty
whilst i think the whole "pound for pound" debate is a waste of time I also think that, on present showings, Gonzalez is better than golovkin.
That old Viloria is arguably better than anybody on GGG's resume.

GGG got better jab, chin and power. Gonzalez is a better combination puncher and his foot work is more versatile, i like how he was side stepping and punching at the same time like Pacquiao.
this. gonzales is the best combination puncher in boxing.
golovkin has the best jab.
golovkin also fights in a much bigger division, where guys can hurt you more easily, so you've got to be more cautious.
if golovkin ate some of the shots chocolatito ate he'd have gotten hurt. if golovkin landed some of the combinations chocolatito landed he'd have knocked lemieux clear out of the ring.
it's very, very difficult to compare a 5'3" former minimumweight to a career middleweight.
