I know lucas is coming off a bad loss, but i think broner-lucas is one of the best fights to make in all of boxing..
I still think lucas would beat broner
Not sure how much Lucas has left but normally I would pick him to beat Broner.
We Cannot base it on last weekend because Lucas faced an undefeated fighter and Broner fought some that lost his previous fight. Different opponents so it means little.
That seems to be the case and wasn't the first time he's shown this behavior.
Broner on the other hand tried to win against Maidana in the later rounds, even after getting knocked down and hurt repeatedly.
But Broner is no Postol... He can't outbox Mathyssee the entire time. It'll be fireworks similar to the Maidana fight, but would be equally sized.
Mathysse was a cyclops vs Garcia for 6 rounds and he came forward non stop trying to win. Lack of heart is a bit harsh after one incident where he was really frustated, lost his head and had a serious eye injury. Broner has the tools to win but is the same size as Lucas so Matthysse wont have the same problems he had with Postol. If Broner stands still and tries to block he will pay.

I do too. Broner is a joke.
Both about the same as far has skill goes but Lucas lacks heart and the will to win when things get hot. He is the most overrated on nsb.

I think it's a good fight. Both guys seem to be B level guys. Broner can take a punch, and has decent power. Matthysse gets flustered when thrown off his game, but has the power to put Broner down. It all depends on who asserts their self. Broner shells up under pressure, andd Matthysse loses confidence. Whoever applies that pressure first has a big upper hand.
He was aggressive against a guy with a 40% K.O ratio, he fights that way vs Lucas and he will get his face broke.
I was comparing his level of aggressiveness to that of when he was at WW. Anyone can see that he is and will be more aggressive at LWW.
People on this forum seem to forget that Broner actually has power. He's going to be a more aggressive fighter at LWW. Just watch last nights fight.

Lucas batters the absolute sh*t out of Broner.
Postol is far superior to Broner and a stylistic nightmare for Lucas. Broner vs Matthysse will be fought at mid-range where Lucas will badly hurt the static Broner.
Lucas is made for Postol, Broner is made for Lucas.
Broner is trash, fighting a semi-retired guy coming off a loss doesn't change a thing.
depends if broner can frustrate lucas and keep him from being able to land his power. I'd still pick lucas. Broner isn't spaghetti arms and super slick. hes flat-footed and has short arms and fights at mid range
smaller guys aren't gonna be able to do what postol did
postol is ****ing good. his size makes him a very difficult out for anybody at 140
That was a taller longer fighter who used his height and long arms. Broner is shorter, with shorter arms, more of an attacking style and he doesn't clinch. Matthysse can win.
Oh for sure, I'm not saying Lucas can't win. I just think if Broner continues to show me what he did yesterday, he would be a problem for a lot of guys at 140
Come on guys style make fights. Frazier beat Ali and Foreman destroyed Frazier...some styles are just really difficult to overcome and Postol's stylee along with his physical attributes was Lucas' kryptonite.

broner always looks good vs light hitting fighters..
I agree that he is a major player at 140 but i want to see him succeed vs a dangerous puncher
