Pretty sure both of those would take back seat to Canelo. But it's impressive he tried to fight Froch last year, right? How many guys go up a division to face a guy like that with no tuneups on the other guy's home turf?
Not this guy

More money less risk.
Let's face it, its not about the belts. If Chavez Jr or Carl Froch were the one's who sent that offer instead of Roc, GGG would have jumped on that immediately.

sure, give up the IBF title and a crack at Canelo to move up 8 pounds and a year from now fight a guy who cant sell 10 tickets.
Brilliant career move that would be.
Haha yeah these fools are just pathetic.
Once again here's the real deal, if team ggg thought he could beat Ward the fight would have been made. The rest is just smoke and mirrors

It's way more money, way more exposure, for 3 belts and lineal. What's not to like?

If it was a joke then negotiate it. Right now 50/50 is more than fair since GGG proved he wasn't a PPV draw.
Kovalev vs. Ward is agreed to. "Inevitable" according to both camps. No "maybes" about it.
You want a guy who sold out msg to have a 50/50 fight with a guy who fights in front of 5000 people and whose promoter has to pay to put him on TV? You can't see that their careers are going in total opposite directions? Your dislike for ggg has made you retarded.
Well for one beating Ward would mean a whole lot more than beating any of those guys. Secondly, there is no clear indication that Canelo fight him this year. In fact, I don't believe that fight happens any time soon. And if his year is Johnson, the Lee vs. Saunders winner abd some other weak stiff, it will be even worse than his 2015. And his stock will continue to go nowhere.
I cant believe I didnt see this a minute ago.
Are you honestly saying that beating Ward would mean more for GGG's career than beating Canelo???????????????

it is certain however that at least ONE of these things will happen with canelo:
1. Canelo will agree to fight GGG in May
2. Canelo will vacate the title and GGG becomes champ
3. Canelo will pay step aside and make a deal to fight GGG in Sept.
Its also certain that NONE of those things happen if GGG had foolishly accepted the absurd Ward "offer"
Negotiate it why??? For what purpose?
GGG's 2016 ideal schedule has 3 names on it, and none of them are Andre Ward. The names (in any order) are:
Johnson: do the IBF mando to keep 160 unification plans on track
Canelo: Pick up WBC title and a ton of money and exposure
Lee/Saunders winner: Pick up WBO title and complete 160 unification
So why on earth would anyone waste time "negotiating" with Ward for a fight that would make no sense???
You keep going back to the "chavez and froch doe" time period like it was yesterday. It wasnt. The Chavez thing was almost 2 friggin years ago. The interest for GGG to look at 168 back then only came about because at the time he could not get any of the other 160 champs into unification bouts. Thats no longer the case, so whether its Ward, Froch, or anyone else at 168 right now, until GGG finishes up his business at 160 I doubt he has any interest in them at all.
And you can speculate all you want that GGG would abandon all his plans at 160 now if Froch came calling, but that is simply your opinion, not fact.

Think about it. You always start negotiations with your highest number then compromise at some point. If Roc thought he was 50/50 they would have started at 60/40 then work down.
And lol about the fight being for next year. ggg camp is the one that said they plan they're schedules out etc etc. this would have gave them ample time to schedule Ward.
:lol1:
Like I said, Ggg gets Canelo in the ring and Ward is lucky to get 25%. You don't negotiate a purse with a huge fight in the pipeline. It's like Winky Wright asking for purse commitment from Floyd before the Oscar fight
AFAIK none of Gggs opponents was signed or even chosen 6 months ahead, much less a year. And nobody is signing with an injury prone B sider wanting 50/50 a year ahead, while they're mando for a massively bigger fight. Like, I bet you can't come up with one example to the contrary
The deal is in place for Ward to fight Kovalev.
A similar deal could have been worked out if Golovkin had wanted it. But the powers that be protected Little G and now he's safe.
Sleep easy.
Not similar. This one was forced on Ward by HBO as part of the 3 fight deal. It'll be a massive money loser, but apparently HBO is willing to take the hit, since they have 2 expensive non draws in the same division with no other prospects. Ggg Otoh is a pretty good draw himself, and has a much bigger fight in the pipeline

yeah, and he already pulled out of one of his tuneups with an injury.
Yep, that deal is off to a fantastic start lol
Im telling you, hes gonna retire. Someone also mentioned that ward in his recent interview that he said he already wrote his letter in October.

Show encouragement? Wtf is that? Team Ward came to him with a laughable 50/50 offer for next year, a joke.
Ward fans are fine with him vs Kov maybe in 2017, so not sure why the whining

No dude 50/50 is not fair since Ggg is a way bigger draw. Neither Ward nor Rohan Murdock can sell a PPV, does it mean 50/50 is in order there?
I heard "if and when", " hopefully" from Wards camp, so not inevitable. A lot can happen in a year, esp when one of the guys is so injury prone, litigious, and feels forced into it
