For champions we have:
a weak chinned Andy Lee
GGG who in his first 14 title defenses only fought a few in the top 10
Miguel Cotto who never fought at middleweight before getting a title shot and can barely get up to 155
David Lemieux won't be champ for much longer
Daniel Jacobs seems to be the only legitimate champ because he is actually making legit title defenses
You're clueless. Lee defended vs Quillin in his 1st defense. GGG is about to fight his 7th Ring top 10 opponent, no one else comes close. And Lemieux best wins are same as Quillin, NDam and Rosado.
lol so you think if a champion fights 7/15 defenses in the top 10 thats good? I wasn't even trying to discredit GGG but now you're just obligating me to. I think what GGG is trying to do is to get Lemieux's belt so that the other belt holders have to fight him or move up. It's smart and I hope it works because I want to see GGG either wipe these guys out or finally lose.
None of the divisions north of 154 are particularly strong, it's just that GGG haters try to discredit him by saying his division is the worst in the sport.
But let's look at the others. 168 has only two good fighters, Ward and DeGale. Arthur Abraham is not good and never was, this dude had a "quadrilogy" with Robert Stieglitz ffs. Groves has been exposed, Badou Jack got KOed in 1 round by a journeyman, Andre Dirrell is one of the biggest underachievers in the sport, his brother isn't much better (he went 10 rounds with Rubio ffs). Is it better than 160? sure, but it's not that much better.
175 has only two fighters as well. Sure you have guys like Beterbiev roaming around but he only has 9 fights under his belt. The other challengers are cannon fodder.
200 and HW aren't that much better either (although HW might soon become one of the best divisions).
Beterbiev would have beat Stevenson by now, but they both are GYM-Haymon fighters. He would have fought Kovalev also. In fact you have only two fighters at LHW -- Kovalev and Beterbiev. The pimp is a spin off already.
No, it takes legitimate title defenses. Quillin=Legit title defense. Also Mora and Traux were legit title defenses. Golovkin rarely fights anyone in the top 10. Lemieux's resume is weak and he got tko'd by Rubio.

So all it takes is fighting Quillin to be legit? Lee fought him, GGG tried a few times, now fights Lemieux who's probably better

You got me...I'm really an african warlord.
But fr, I only said Jacobs was the legit out of them because he is fighting Quillin in december, if he had not been fighting Quillin then I would have said he was the worst. Like I said earlier in this thread.

OP is not an actual dagowop. Trying to cover his tracks by naming himself that and seeming unbiased by downplaying white fighters and bigging up Danny Jacobs who everyone knows is trash thereby which exposing his true identity. That, not of a dagowop. Alterior motive exposed.

It's better by way of some star power, but two of the three guys who make it attractive aren't really full fledged to class yet. Rough spot.
Yea but some star power will force other talents to gravitate there away from 154 or shrink down to give it a crack. The possibilities are at least there now (for the moment) but while 154 has improved a bit I don't know that the conditions exist for 160 to get hot.

I wouldn't call it "Weak" Promotional and Network Divide has Crippled this Division as well as the Light Heavyweight Division. So the best guy in the Division haven't even fought any of the Top Guys in the Division because of this Great Divide in Boxing which is not good for the sport at all
Regardless of who I think would win, I would love to see winner of GGG vs Lemeiux fight Andy Lee or winner of GGG vs Lemeiux fight winner of Quillin vs Jacobs.
I like the prospects in that Division though: Eubanks Jr, Ievgen Khytrov, Antoine Douglas and Hugo Centeno Jr. Dominic Wade is the only one that don't impress me much but he has some Raw Talent. Yeah Khytrov struggled his last fight but he fought sick apparently. Now if Canelo, Lara and some of the other 154 fighters start to move up to 160 then that Division will quickly become one of the best
Notice how it's only trolls with red K or 1-2 rep bars who make these type of threads.
The hate is real.
Gennady Golovkin, the best/most dominant fighter of all time. A white kid from Kazakhstan, the most powerful/strongest puncher in the history of the sport. That eats you up inside, it deeply bothers you. And you have to live with that REALITY every day of your life.

It is actually probably better than it has been in recent memory, which is a pretty low bar. The problem I have with the division is where are the prospects to keep it moving in the right direction and vibrant.

Lol....wut? You were going well up until that last sentence.
I assume that was the troll bait. Middleweight hasn't had any sort of consistent depth since the early to mid-90s. There hasn't been a GREAT era in the class since Nunn, Toney, McCallum, Jones, Benn etc. were lighting it up in the post-Hagler years. The class was livened by the 01 tourney and had a few bright years between 05-07, but it fell off quick and is, like most classes right now, mired in mediocrity below a few high quality guys up top.

After he beats Lemieux, he should fight Quillin, Lee, and Canelo if Canelo beats Cotto to start. Then move up to SMW or LHW. He should have moved up a while ago.
What has Quillin done to deserve another title shot? He has spent his career ducking Golovkin. He came in overweight for his last title shot against Lee and the title was not on the line. Then he came in weighing close to LHW range for his last fight. Quillin will NEVER fight GGG.
If you knew anything at all about boxing, you would know that there was already a Lee - GGG fight signed which was cancelled when Golovkin's father died. As soon as Lee is available, I am sure that this fight will happen.
Golovkin is a NATURAL middleweight. He is not big enough to move up to SMW. He does not have the height or the reach or the size in general. There is no reason for him to move up. His body is no longer growing and he will never have problems making weight at 160.
A true champ fights the best of his era. Golovkin clearly isn't doing that.
Maybe you should complain to the best MWs of his era who lack the spine to get in the ring with him. What is Golovkin to do? Kidnap their family members until they agree to fight him? Force them into the ring at gunpoint?
