Everywhere I go I see fans arguing about Ward vs GGG matchup even though it's almost unrealistic. GGG fights at 160 and it appears he won't be outgrowing that division anytime soon. Ward used to fight at 168, his last fight was at 172. Why not fight Kovalev? it seems to me all this GGG talk by Ward is BS to avoid the Krusher at 175, this fight seems more realistic to me, we all know Kovalev is eager to fight anyone.
I don't know what you mean by that but whatever. It's actually a good thing that we expect Golovkin to deliver on Sanchez's words. You guys complain about him not having a resume, well now he's in the position to start getting those names. And Ward is not his only big fight, hate to break it to you. It's more that Golovkin is the only big fight for Ward. Ward/Kovalev is a great match-up but that probably wouldn't be as big as GGG/Ward. You can argue about Canelo or Cotto not fighting him, but we don't know that yet, so you can't automatically rule them out and go straight about Ward. And no fighter is ever a "completed" pro fighter. And you of course had to reference his whole resume as "cans," which is the convenient argument to make. We're not going to agree so it's best we just end here.
Ward smashing Golovkin, in the manner that most Golovkin fans are fearful of, will have K2 go from having this "destroyer with a smile that everyone is deathly afraid of" to having a 33-year old middleweight, who isn't indestructible, left to fight in a 160lb division that is in a deep lull. All of the heat basically vanishes in a single fight.
People are significantly overstating the options actually available to Golovkin. Cotto/Canelo are unlikely to take the fight, especially if Team Golovkin tries to dictate weight, Quillin/Jacobs/Lee/etc are all with/affiliated to Al Haymon and PBC, and Golovkin seems not willing to go up even one weight class.
If the Cotto/Canelo situation goes as many people expect (with both passing on the fight), who is out there for Golovkin to fight?
Sanchez wrote a check that Golovkin's backend can't cash, and things have gotten to the point that, mixing metaphors, Andre Ward is about to force the entire camp into bankruptcy.
Because, for all the work that Sanchez has done, Golovkin is now in a position where boxing fans are gonna start expecting him to deliver on all of the words from Sanchez, and the only big fight for him is, tbh, a PPV fight with Ward (Cotto isn't going to fight him, Canelo is literally a month away from being Golden Boy's only marketable fighter, and HBO isn't going to put up the big payday for Golovkin-Johnson or Golovkin-Heiland).
For a guy who was as decorated an amateur as Golovkin was, who ended up getting to Abel Sanchez as basically a completed pro fighter, the fact that he's still can crushing, three years into an HBO megapush, is embarrassing.

I don't necessarily agree with how Abel has gone around saying the things he has, but it's part of his job to sell his fighter, especially that Golovkin isn't the type to go around saying anything of the sort. But, despite whether you believe Sanchez to be a/an (insert negative epithet), he has done a great job of getting Gennady where he is today, in terms of exposure. Knock him all you want, but they had to do something to get this unknown commodity become a risk worth taking for other fighters. His resume obviouly is lacking, but to do what they've done in 3 years to get to this point, you gotta tip your hat for that at least. So hopefully soon, the money will be there for big fights to get made.

You people need to forget about this fight. Ward can't even show interest in 3G without looking fake, let alone Kovalev.
You just have to focus on Ward vs 3G, and let's put pressure on them making the fight next year. Believe me, 3G vs Cotto/Canelo winner won't happen right away.
Ward vs Golovkin in 2016. Let's make it happen!
ward's people have been in talks with kovalev's for several months. they're looking at that fight on PPV in '16. both sides.
the fight is 100% possible if fans are willing to pay for it on PPV. both guys get "a side" money that HBO can't pay to both sides. neither will take a paycut for the biggest fight of his career, obviously.
call for this fight., don't block it.
just don't be shy about paying the 60-70 american for it.

Abel Sanchez was the one, running around and talking crazy, yet Golovkin nor anyone else in the camp felt the need to quell him. Was even talking about how Golovkin was wrecking Kovalev in sparring, to the point of embarrassing him.
If you're camp is that out front, you either cut down the nonsense, or you stand by the camp and deal with whatever comes of it. To expect that, as a middleweight, a fighter's camp can talk down three entire weight classes, be happy to go to the full weight to take on two other fighters in the top 10 of said weight, yet turn ***** once the kingpin comes knocking about said open challenge, without any repercussions, is a bit much.

kovalev's schedule is pretty full at present, but both parties are looking at that fight at some point in '16. there's a dan rafael article on it, but nobody is going to read it if i post it :lol1:
ward - kovalev at 175 is the best fight in boxing. i'd like to see andre ward fight one top or two 10ers at 175 lbs and get ready to take this fight on ppv in the spring or next fall.
Lol. Undercards never put anyone on the cusp of stardom. This ppv will sell like 15% of what Floyd PAC did, and no casual remembers or gives a sh1t who fought on the undercard.
How fcuking deluded do you have to be to claim that a guy whose best option is an undercard is in a better spot than the guy headlining hbo ppv and selling out msg?
Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthysse, as the co-feature to Mayweather-Alvarez, brought both guys to the cusp of stardom; Danny Garcia being held back a bit after the shaky Herrera performance (and hanging at 140 for too long, tbh), with Lucas Matthysse having a bit longer path as he rebuilt from the defeat.
Both guys went from co-featuring on Mayweather's PPV, to headlining their on shows (with sizable budgets being put behind them). You likely wouldn't be hearing Danny Garcia's name coming up in general sports conversation, were it not for the Mayweather co-feature (and his continued winning, once people, beyond the core boxing audience, got a chance to really see him fight).
The price for the Cotto-Alvarez PPV has yet to be disclosed, but Ward's fight is likely going to be seen by more than twice the number of folks who see Golovkin's fight, at a likely higher price point.
A quick check of Ticketmaster shows that you can still buy a row of 10 tickets for Golovkin-Lemeiux (so it's likely to be a near sellout); even with that, the show that Ward is co-feature on will likely end up doing 3-4 times Golovkin's business at the gate.
Golovkin's got near all of an orange; Ward is getting a piece of a watermelon. Ward wins, lol
You quote "easy work" as if it was something I said. If you go back and read what I ****ing said, it would say "easier." Almost everyone agrees that Ward is the more difficult fight, which is why I have the problem of people saying Golovkin has to immediately fight the best at 168 while not allowing to fight anyone else before Ward. Seriously, ****ing read and don't put **** I didn't say and proceed to go off that.

You have some pretty flawed logic there. If 700k people see him fight,700k people are going to be bored out of their minds, and never want to see him again. The card will be watched by mostly Mexican and Puerto Ricans, which will expect action and excitement,of which ward brings neither. And the thought that ward being on the undercard will put him into a superstar position doesn't make any sense either. That would be like saying that lomanchenko is one of the biggest superstars now, because 4.4 million people saw him on the may-pac undercard.
You've obviously never seen Ward fight.
Ward-Paul Smith wasn't a boring fight, Ward-Rodriguez wasn't a boring fight (up until Rodriguez ran out of gas and was simply fighting to not get stopped), and Ward-Froch, though rough on the inside, wasn't a boring fight either. Again, people have spent so much time listening to HBO spin, over actually seeing the fights, that their ideas of what's what have been warped.
700k PPV homes/parties watching Ward systematically crush an opponent (where Ward delivers all of the punishment, while not letting even a stray shot get throug on him), piques the interest even more. You add the sport's world re-hashing his standing as America's last boxing Olympic gold medalist, with the added caveat that neither Cotto or "Canelo" are all that comfortable working the US sports press in English, and Ward gets positioned even better.
Add a February/March return date, hopefully marketed by HBO, and he's off to the races.
Outside of possible Julio Cesar Chavez, there's never been a US superstar boxer who couldn't market the fight in English, and I doubt that that changes.
Vasyl Lomachenko, for all of his boxing talent, is still a 126lb fighter, with all of five fights to his name, light on regular fights due to his promoter, who doesn't interview with a lick of English. Simply being put on a Mayweather stage isn't going to just transfer Mayweather's acclaim to you, just for showing up.
The Mexican/Puerto Rican US PPV audience is unlikely to be over 400k-500k PPV buys, tbh; anything beyond that will come from "American"/casual boxing audience, largely folks who have seen Cotto and Alvarez fight Mayweather and getting drawn into the fight by way of HBO's marketing efforts.
Having America's last Olympic gold medalist, and arguably the sport's top p4p fighter on the bill (with about as marketable a persona as anything that exists in the sport, if they push it) will goose the potential draw from the US/casual boxing audience.
I know what GGG wants to do and he appeared to not be worrying too much about cleaning his division out when he called out Froch , GGG went at Froch real hard so that kinda tells me GGG is burning the candle at both ends , Im just trying to figure out why his fans dont want him to fight Ward at 168 .
Hype jobs always bring money you should know that , Ward GGG is a big fight and it would definitely be a case of somebody wins and the other is told to sit down where you belong .
His profile has grown so much that unifications are now possible, esp now that he's HBO ppv and selling out Msg. At the time Froch was his best option for money and exposure, and a mouthwatering bout to boot. And he probably felt he could handle Froch, Wards best win, without bulking up much since Froch is not much of a grappler
Nothing wrong, but by the same token Ggg wants Canelo/Cotto before going up to fight Ward. And it makes more sense to go for a fellow champ in your own division, lineal no less and a legit superstar, than to wait for an unproven hypejob to move up

Whats wrong with Ward GGG at 168 then Ward Kov at 175 , it cant happen the other way around because of the weight .
People are so scared of GGG fighting Ward at 168 its crazy fan protection .

Ward being the co-feature on a show that is likely to have over 700k PPV homes/parties will leverage him back into the "on the cusp of stardom" position that he was before the layoffs, at just the time when Golovkin is likely to be faced with a pair of **** fights to follow up the rushed PPV push.
No idea how the money is going to end up being split, but Golovkin going from a US/Canadian PPV fight back to a fight like Golovkin-Heiland on HBO, likely cuts that follow-up payday by 4.
Laugh off my statement if you want; when Cotto and Alvarez line up their immediate rematch, and Andy Lee goes with the Jacobs-Quillin winner, I'd hope you'd have the decency to stand by your words.

Carl Froch was the #2 fighter at 168; to try and pawn him off as some bum that would've been "easy work" perfectly illustrates how far Golovkin fans have gone to try and justify their warped logic for ducking Ward so furiously. lol.
If Ward started calling out light heavyweights, with his camp running about how he'd trounce them all, he better be ready to fight Kovalev.

Scipio you are pathetic. I don't even have to read your posts to know they are all retarded brainfarts.
Building their company around Ward? Yeah since Ward has so many fans and so much appeal. I hope all you 5 Ward fans here on NSB buy a couple tickets each or Ward won't be selling out his own backyard.
Nobody even cares to see Ward on the Canelo undercard, or who is asking for Ward? Where are the Ward fans? That guy lives off GGGs name right now, the Super 6 was 4 years ago.
