I've noticed boxing ain't as popular as it used to be in Mexico. My little cousins from Mexico don't like boxing at all....boxing is still a popular sport among Mexicans but it is slowly decreasing...I've also noticed boxing is way more popular among Chicanos born in the USA compared to 'real' Mexicans living in Mexico....
they probably sick of seing they brawslers getting took to school by slick americans,
Going by that logic shouldn't boxing be more popular in the US then? Those "slick americans" have actually made boxing a lot less popular in the US.
This has been a bit of an interesting read, because for me, someone who has always heard and read about Mexico's proud boxing heritage and the popularity of guys like Barrera and Morales, it's difficult to imagine a Mexico where boxing isn't so popular.
Is that really true?

ratings in mexico are still 10 times better than the usa, but you got a valid point, we have less popular fighters today than we had in previous eras, but still very popular, canelos ratings are bigger than barreras, morales, lopez, marquez, etc....

Mexico has very limited gyms compared to USA Mexico is a poor nation compared to the USA a person has to work from a young age to support themselves. A person here does not have to work if the parents are poor they can collect welfare, food stamps and Obamacare. You see the difference ?
The only really popular Boxers in Mexico are Pacquiao,Mayweather,Marquez,Chavez Jr, and Canelo....the rest are almost unknown in Mexico...
Cotto is really popular there too
Negative....not true, I live next to Tijuana and they're Allways showing boxing in there bars, as a matter of fact I might go today because I don't have the Chanel that's showing the Estrada vs Marquez fight and to prove you wrong I will also be able to watch the Wilder fight...
