I'm not sure I even want to see Kirkland in a boxing ring, and for the record Lara would knock his ass out. It's got nothing to do with whether Lara is a big puncher, he'll land that straight left as early as the first round and one of those will eventually put Kirkland away.
James is punch drunk on a Junma Lopez level it would be a shameless rip off meant only to make Lara look good on the eyes of the casuals, it just seems that is the gameplan with almost every single fighter nowadays.
Put em in with outclassed opposition to hype em up for way too damn long til they have a bloated resume full of bums or past their prime fighters who are no threats.
I would most definitely not give credit to Lara for a W there regardless of how flashy it is. He has never taken the easy route always gone for the toughest fights as soon as he can get em like when he beat Pwilliams ended up looking like he had a grapefruit growing out his head, if he was to start doing the b*tch moves at this point it would be a disappointment.
What the fight do for Lara? He would just be fighting a guy Canelo crushed easily. Lara would win easily too. Kirkland needs a quality win over a top 10 154 pounder before he would be worthy of fighting Lara.
Put him back on the comebck trail then put him in with a good fighter. Kirkland hasn't really been given a breather since 2011. He has fought Angulo, Molina, Tapia, and Canelo in a row. He needs a couple of confidence builders. And I would keep him away from Lara put him in to trash Margarito around for 5-6 rounds. Kirkland vs Andy Lee would also be a good fight.
