I think he has done well for the talent that he has. He will probably soon be a champion in his 4th weight class of 140 pounds so that's good. He won't be the best 140 pounder but he will hold an alphabet title. He can punch hard with either hand and he has decent hand speed and a solid chin. He lacks stamina and has a very low punch output per round so maybe he could improve in that area with better training. He has a poor defense against guys like Maidana and Porter who come at him hard with fast combinations. His main defense in those fights was a bear hug clinch. Defense against a hard fast attack and increasing his work rate are where I think he could improve the most.
he needs to let his hands go, thats when he shines
for some reason he has fought his past few fights thinking he could win in points by using defense. its a shame cause i think most people see it there, but he just doesnt want to tap into it.
also not sure who tags this thread but the racist **** is lame
Nope he achieve about as much as anyone who could judge a fighter well thought he would(so far). Others where just band-wagoners hopping on him in the hopes for a Mayweather replacement for after the real deal was gone. They where sorely mistaken.
He overachived on paper thanks to that patented Haymon cherrypicking and buying off judges....I mean, a guy who really should've lost to Quintero and Ponce De Leon at 130 has been maneuvered into a possible 4 weight paper titlist.....Haymon gets the most out of the limited cavemen he promotes.
no. never had a good workrate. wannabe floyd shoulder roll that got him hit often. lost fights that would've derailed him sooner if not for his name. he's made the most out of his ability
Broner would be no more than a face-first brawler if he had any heart. That's why I have far more respect for someone like Rios, who when overmatched, brings it; Broner, when overmatched, clinches.
He's a boiler who feasted on smaller guys Some of whom he barely scraped by. Now that he's stepped up you see how ordinary he is at top level. Should have been apparent before.
