Roc Nation Sports, Cotto's promoter, continues to work on hammering out a deal that would see super middleweight champion Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs) appear in the co-feature in a light heavyweight fight. If the deal is finalized, it will mark the start of a three-fight contract between Ward and HBO. Two other world title bouts are agreed to for the undercard. According to Golden Boy, Alvarez's promoter and co-promoter of the card, contracts have been sent out and Golden Boy is waiting for them to be signed and returned before the fights can be officially announced. Ward made it perfectly clear that he didn't want to fight Bute in the post fight interview. Bute even offered to go to Oakland and Ward still didn't want it. Ward and Froch BOTH said that the winner should fight Bute. Listen to what he says in the youtube video, then he turns into a complete f@ggot in the post fight interview. Bute could have waited until Ward healed then called him out. Instead he lost to Froch, how is that Ward's fault? Ward gave his honest opinion stating he thought Bute was overrated and didn't deserve a shot at the title after Ward had just completed the tournament against a tough opponent in Froch. Doesn't make a difference if you agree with Ward, that was his opinion. I'm guessing Ward felt Bute was protected, the gift he received from the ref during the first Andrade fight might have had something to do with that perception. Right Ward wanted no part of a guy who has never been tested instead he went on to fight Froch and Kessler "Went on to" f*ck. Ward fought Froch and Kessler DURING the Super 6 tournament. Before the final, Ward and Froch both said the winner should fight Bute and clean out the division. In the post fight interview after the final, Ward talked his way out of that fight. After the super 6 final...AFTER the Super 6 final. AFTER THE SUPER 6 FINAL Ward talked his way out of fighting Bute. Why is this timeline so hard to understand? Which way are you going to go now? "Why did Bute duck the Super6 tournament then?" or "Well we seen what Froch did to Bute, so Ward didn't have to fight him anyways."

If you had been in Montreal, you would have read about it in the press here quite often. Sports reporters here were quite upset that Bute was being kept out of the tournament when he was one of the hottest fighters at the time. Fair enough. Sure there are lots of behind the scene things that most fans aren't privy to. For the record though, Ward still couldn't have fought Bute for the aforementioned reasons. Would have been an interesting fight though.

I've followed every fight in the tournament and never hear this about Ward and Bute. Kinda hard to believe that Ward would care so much about Bute when Kessler and Froch were the clear favorites of the tournament. Doesn't really matter though. The truth is that Ward was hurt so Froch stepped up and Ko'd Bute. Why is this such a big deal? Little G ducked Ward, that stain isn't ever going away. :wave: Can't duck someone who fights in a different division. If Ward was serious about fighting Golovkin, he would have offered to drop to 160 and fight the people's champion at his own weight class. :skull:

Bute was going to be added to the Super 6 as a replacement after he signed a contract with Showtime. Dan Goossen threw a sh*t fit and threatened to pull Ward out of the tournament. They never wanted any part of Bute. I've followed every fight in the tournament and never hear this about Ward and Bute. Beterbiev right now would be a cakewalk for Ward. Maybe that's different in a year or so. Not sure how long Beterbiev can continue to make LHW, but he's not going to be a "cakewalk" for anybody while he's there. Dude probably would've been a HW gold medalist if it weren't for Usyk, even their fight was close.

As far as the timeline with Ward and Bute, Ward broke his hand in the Froch fight, was on the shelf, then Bute got Cobra'd 5 months after that. I've been known to be wrong, just how I remember it.

nope, GGG still ducked ward. Then Ward ducked Bute and Stevenson - Stevenson twice, at 168 and 175, and will probably duck Beterbiev and Kovalev.

Bute beat Bika easier more impressively than Ward or Calzaghe. Better performances vs common opponents is probably one of the reasons Ward didn't want any part of Bute, despite Ward saying he would fight Bute after the Super6.

Why 164? Ward already ducked that challenge. He'll get huge respect from me if he beats Kovalev, Stevenson or Beterbiev. I can guarantee you there won't be anything easy about any of them. Beterbiev right now would be a cakewalk for Ward. Maybe that's different in a year or so.

I disagree I can't see anyone beating ward at 164-175. I think he beats kov and beterbiev easy Why 164? Ward already ducked that challenge. He'll get huge respect from me if he beats Kovalev, Stevenson or Beterbiev. I can guarantee you there won't be anything easy about any of them.
