Ward is definitely the bigger guy, but it's not an unsurpassable difference.
Do you mean for an individual fight or to move there for good? He comes in 170s, I don't think he's really grown enough to have a run at 168. But he could compete with any 168lber I'm sure if he needed to. I'm hoping for the Ward fight if Ward doesn't move to 175.
I get what you mean, and sure, ward deserved to test out how his body would feel in another weight, but its still an unofficial weight class. It doesn't seem fair that people sh*t on ggg for only proposing a fight at 164,but its perfectly fine for ward to actually fight at 172.
Once again...
GGG NEVER proposed any fight at 164. No one proposed a fight at 164 to anyone. It was a COMMENT MADE DURING A WEB INTERVIEW that people jumped all over. Nothing more, nothing less. People really have to stop giving it more weight than it was meant to have. It's like Ralph Macchio's character in My Cousin Vinny saying "I shot the clerk" and the police trying to say it was a confession.
Ward fans begging for the GGG fight because they know Kovalev would probably kill him on live television is an endless source of comedy on this forum
You just keep typing the word "Kovalev" the herd starts thinning out rapidly
Ward just fought at 172
Why is he refusing to fight until a small middleweight fights him?
Kovalev Kovalev Kovalev
He would end up looking like Arthur Abraham at 168+, having to plod around in a shell waiting for them to get tired then blasting them
I'm not really sure why anyone is dying to see that
Keep it real , Ward had not fought in how long , the dude may have been reduced to nothing after that length of time out of the ring , it takes time in competition to harden your body back to fighting peak .

Well 172 isn't a weight class either, but ward fought at it anyways, right? So I guess ward is more of a coward than ggg for actually fighting at 172.

164 isn't a weight class. We already have 17 in this sport, we don't need another just to accommodate Golovkin's cowardice.

He had no problem with it for a Froch or Chavez fight. You know this.
Next you'll bring up the money excuse.
When it's GGG, money is an excuse. When it's Ward demanding $2 million for a tune up fight, it's a valid reason. Hypocrite.
People have different effects from weight draining, i've never heard of negative effects from not having to drain.
So Golovkin should gain weight to take a meaningless fight only to have to drain himself to get back to his proper division weight and put his career at risk? Just because Ward is delusional and thinks he is still the A side? Yeah, you keep dreaming.
If Ward fans are claiming Ward and Golovkin are so close in size then what's the issue of 164? Golovkin makes 160 easy and walks in at 170.
If Ward wants it, he's gotta give something up to get it. He's not the A-side like Froch/Chavez. In the meantime Ward can keep fighting guys not even in the top 15 at SMW on BET and undercards of more popular fighters.
You mean at 173, don't you?

GGG is 5'10 according to boxrec and in all honesty, looks like a decent height guy but it could be wrong. Fact is, he is quite a muscular man, broad shouldered, big fisted, I think he would make 168lb well. In fact, a lot of guys at that weight have been around 5'9'' or so.
People do wear shoes, you know? Shoes have heels on them which can be of different heights. Even a pair of sneakers can add around an inch to your height, some even more than that.
That's true, Murray could have been wearing high heels when they took his height. You're a genius Barckram.
You really think Martin Murray is 6 foot? Martinez looked taller than him on occasion. Martinez is like 5'10.

Floyd is certified...he doesn't have to fight anybody else....after he fought Pac, his plate was clear...he ate all of the food on his plate....the same can't be said for Lil G and Ward....people wanna see Lil G in with Ward and Ward in with Krusher....those fights MUST happen
The majority don't want to see Ward fight. :lol1:
But serious....if GGG wants to stay at 160 and unify, let him. You as a Hopkins fan should know that. Isn't that one of his biggest accomplishments? Being undisputed?
I'm all for Ward vs GGG if GGG moves up but it is unfair that the standards are much higher for him compared to Ward who according to you guys, is the much better guy.
Murray down as 6 foot on boxrec.

This GGG vs Ward came up as soon as GGG called out Floyd & Cotto. Floyd isn't ducking GGG nor does he have to fight him. Same applies with GGG and Ward.
