I was just thinking how floyd's best weapon is is elusiveness and defense, has there been any of his opponents that have tried to make him chase them instead of the other way around and would u think this would be a good strategy. Just look @ Lara and how he's longer and just as elusive therefore would make Floyd have to come after him and take more risk in order to win the fight?
Time to focus on the rest of the boxing world man,Floyd has bowed out
Why do you keep making Floyd threads then? :lol1: Or making a thread about Virgil Hunter but really it was about Floyd.
It's not a smart approach, Mayweather has the most versatile jab in the game, his timing is unmatched, superb reflexes and he's got a good reach. There is a reason everyone always ends up going after him.
Its over man, doesn't even matter anymore
I would say Judah have the most sustained success with that, although watching Mayweather go into stalker mode and walk him down from round 5 on was a thing of beauty.
Also, Cotto had surprising success in small bursts when he did it too, especially when he was pumping and landing his jab.
Yeah but judah was coming off a loss and a beating by a journeymen.
That won't work. He won't chase. You have to pressure and smother him without him smothering you. Which is what I thought Canelo was going to do but he went full potato and tried to box him. JLC was the closest to beating him

How can you possibly be the first reply on every floyd thread. ???
Do you have a real job?
Is every thread with floyds name automatically direct messaged to you. Its crazy.
Larry you post so much it leads me to believe you collect welfare checks and on the front line of mayweathers groupie defense team.
Its been 10 yrs and your still not on the payroll.

I think his greatest weapon was his ability to adapt, which makes it very hard to beat him with 1 strategy. Usually after a few rounds he will adapt. The mere fact that Floyd defends well, does not implicate that he can't attack.
Lara's not going to fight inside
He wouldnt want to of course. But Floyd would operate inside of his reach effectively where Lara would keep having to back up and reset

I think Pacquiao gave him the most trouble with sneaking into range where Floyd had trouble reading his movements. Not a lot of great light feet guys fought Floyd. Oscar and Shane prime would be very very interesting, Floyd was making a name for himself at lightweight at the time though. Judah isnt that elusive when he starts getting worked over. Lara is great and all but having that much length could play against him if Floyd shells up and fights inside
Lara's not going to fight inside
People who've tried this tactic just get pot-shotted.
Personally I don't understand why nobody ever tried to bulldoze him, seriously rough him up whilst combining it with a Joe Calzaghe-like punch output.
Maidana did and I thought canelo would

You're right about that but all I can think of are come forward fighters that he's fought and the reason I mention Lara is because he's not the typical fighter I'm not saying he would win or lose I'm asking would making him chase u be a good strategy
Distance control is everything when you're fighting Floyd Mayweather, if you can't use distance deception against him you won't be in range to hit him, once u get in range and he sees it he's out cuz of foot speed and reflexes, you have to subtley close the distance by going in behind feints and by changing levels, things I've never seen Lara do on a high level. I just don't see how lara can put together good enough offense in a fight like this.
Floyd will definitley come forward more in this fight, his straight right is very quick, accurate and long especially against southpaws, and this would make the difference in the fight.
You can come in and try any tactic, you'll end up fighting his fight and chasing him by the end. It really doesn't matter.
There's a reason every guy ends up doing the same thing and afterwards regretting their tactics. They all say the same things about where they went wrong, they shouldn't regret trying to chase him and taking his head off, it's not their fault, he just has ways of making everyone fall into the same trap. Put them back in the ring the next day with the knowledge of where they went wrong and they will be back in the trap within a few rounds. Berto should take some pride in that he did all he could ever do and didn't do worse than a lot of fighters considered above him, probably did better than some.
It is what it is, nobody around those weight classes stand any chance of beating him. Put any of them in the ring and most fights will be a carbon copy of each other, them chasing him around the ring trying to land a big shot. It makes no difference. Put them in the ring for 120 rounds and they still won't land it.

Why take the time comment in a thread and don't answer the question u might née to get a life outside of this
