This fight makes a sizable profit on PPV than on regular HBO. There's literally no way it shouldn't be a PPV fight in that case. People get caught up too much in "prestige".
I have spiketv and they werent showing it in Canada.
The free TV channels in the United States, depending on the market you're in, are NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, KQED, CW, Univision, and Telemundo.
SpikeTV is not a free channel in the United States.
HBO should just let Kovalev to have one fight off HBO vs Stevenson. He'd knock him out, raise his profile and return to HBO a bigger star while hurting their competition in the long run.
it's easy to talk like that about somebody else's money.

i'm of the school of thought that says "i'll pay for a good fight on PPV if it's the only way to make the fight."
in the past, this fight wouldn't be on PPV. starts / "A side" matchmaking has inflated the purses of top fighters.
networks don't sell fights any longer. they sell fighters. it's causing these favored guys to earn purses that cost too much to get a decent opponent.
if you wantt o wtach ward - golovkin
ward - kovalev
stevenson - kovalev
get ready to watch it on PPV.
i am voting yes, btu that's only because i hardly watch boxing any longer with all of these terrible fights and promotor wars.
Main events made a Twitter offer to Stevenson 50/50 on ppv $65. Worth it?
Will be entirely dependent on what the entire show ended up looking like, tbh.
Stevenson vs Kovalev, for the undisputed/unified light heavyweight championship of the world, is a gigantic fight and arguably one of the five biggest fights that could be made in the sport. As a standalone fight, I wouldn't be bothered with paying $45sd for the fight (assuming I was hosting; otherwise, I'd probably be out at a bar somewhere).
Beyond that, any other dollar value needs to be added to the show, either by undercard or by spectacle. Main Events, as a company, doesn't have the depth of the roster to stack the bill, therefore:
-fight opens up the new MGM arena in Vegas: ($5 more for PPV)
Not sure how they'd get to $65.
Did HBO say it would cost $65?
You whats crazy? I live in Canada and the ****ty fight we just witnessed from Stevenson was on PPV here lol Yvon Michel is one POS. On free tv in US but try to sell us that sh*t fight here. :canada:

I don't ever buy fights because I am too cheap to pay 50 bucks or more to watch a fight I can watch free on direct tv in a week. This is a super fight and if a fight should be pfv this is one of them.
:haha::haha::haha:
This is about as big a super fight as Khan vs Garcia was. Yeah it's two champions unifying and the #1 & #2 in the division but that's not always PPV material.

I don't recall this with Kovalev though aven't heard much news about him in a while. I know this was being brought up for Wilder though.
I think she recently had a meeting with some Russians and she said that lol. Clearly not the case though cause of those guys were behind her they would do the purse bid and just pay whatever

PPV? What happened to her Russian big spenders that could buy out Haymon 10 times over?
