He made some fundamental mistakes today and I saw him get hit with more punches than he should get hit with because he unloads his combinations and he leaves himself open, he can't fight big punchers like he fought tonight, he's gonna have to use more footwork, angles and head movement.
I think his power is good at 147, his stamina was great tonight and he's pretty quick as well.
What do you guys think? Maybe it's because he was fighting a southpaw?
He looked very green and unconfident. Also he has not very good defence, not very good legs, he's not slick also.
Right now I think he will lose to every top welter.
Thurman is a mover. Khan can be at times. Crawford too if he moves up. They aren't floyd. **** they aren't even pacquiao type movers but they can get in and out at times.
Yeah, but I don't think any of them, except Floyd (but that fight will probably never happen), have the type of footwork to really trouble Spence.
Spence will be able to get to everyone of them imo.
In a few more fights Spence should be ready to take on the Porters, Thurmans. Brook would be a tougher fight, so maybe wait a little more for that.
I see Spence beating most if not all of them tbh now that Floyd and Pac are almost gone.
Crawford, Thurman and Imam fights will be very interesting though.
Definitely Brook who is physically a strong dude.
Nobody really. I said it before on this site, Spence is fortunate that there really isn't any movers at 147.
Still exciting fighter and I can't wait to watch his future fights against Thurman, Brook, Imam (once he moves up) and Crawford (hoping by that time TR and Haymon can resolve their issues, mainly TR who are acting immature imo).

I think he's a tit for tat guy. He's either offense or defense. Doesn't mesh them both well. Very predictable but he's definitely a machine. Looks to have great conditioning. Needs to develop his IQ more though. He fights but it doesn't appear like he's thinking in there. He just trys to pummel you and break you down. Also wish he knew how to fight going backwards. He simply shells up most of the time.
Called being affected by the amateur style where there's no time to think, u have to unload everything and land more punches in 3 rounds, u don't have time to think and set stuff up so much, can't take rounds off either, just continous all out attack for 3 rounds, I feel like the major adjustments he made after he turned pro is improving his stamina so that he can do that for 12 rounds not only for 3, and if course his superb body attack, he just needs to step aside after them body combinations, he waits a bit too long for the back fire
Spence is not ready for a legit top 10.
He can fight a Robert Guerrero, Devon Alexander or one of those guys on the fringe top 10, or ex champions.
Throw him in with a legit top 10 and he'll take an unnecessary loss imo.
I'd back him to beat Porter, Garcia, Rios etc.
His head movement needs a bit of work but he catches punches well.

I still agree with that. I also think he'll still give Khan the bidness probably.
But just by seeing the fight yesterday, I mean he was really pounding on this guy who was just slow and sloppy. He had sharp shots, but his feet were a little slow and he's winging his punches a little too much for me. Fight someone with a good jab and he'll be eating it right now.
Awesome fighter, but top 5-7 guys right now? Why risk it?
I think he fought that way because of the opponent he was facing. If he was facing a faster, harder puncher I think he would have been more careful. I can't help it if I am a big Spence fan. I am getting on the Spence band wagon early. I don't think any welterweight is going to beat him.

Dude needs to step up the competition tho. He's not getting better fighting the dudes he's currently facing. This is building an inflated recorded at its finest.
That is the chances you only take vs Weaker Competition because you know you can get away with it. Better competition you tighten things up.
Anybody remember when people was talking about how Rigondeaux gets caught and how Donaire was going to catch him and knock him out because when Rigo fought against Weaker competition he tends to take more chances and yes by opening up vs weaker competition he gets caught.
Spence Jr is a very smart fighter, he knows when to get out, he knows when to reset, he knows when to work off of his backfoot a bit and he is a absolute beast on the INSIDE!
No need to convince anybody of Spence Jr, just keep watching and you will see for yourself. He will be World Champion and one of the best Welterweights In boxing and people will still be on here talking about his "FLAWS" and how he gets "HIT".
It is fuking boxing you idiots, punches are going to get through it is all about limiting the punches that gets through. I also see him do well at catching and Parrying Punches and then coming back and landing his own punches when he gets caught.
Do you want Defensive Genius or do you want someone that will come forward and bang out and is not afraid to get into a fight. Some of you really have to make up your mind. :lol1:

Spence-Imam would be a great fight.
Yeah but who in the weight class can do that other than Brook?

dude looks like he would have a problem with movers and counter punchers with decent speed. He is good tho. He will own the division in a couple years.
Chris Algieri?
i wonder who these spence fans will back when he runs into a clincher. the clinchers that they normally defend or spence.
Since he isn't fighting Ward anytime soon, I don't see it being an issue with me.
