Hello everyone, Since Cesar Rene Cuenca isn't fighting at the moment I decided to make a thread about the PBC and their upcoming schedule...here it is!
I will rank the fights from 1 star to 5 stars based on quality of fight, excitement factor, etc...
Sept 8: Austin Trout vs Joey Twinklefingers Hernandez: 1 star fight
This seems like a joke fight. Trout headlining a card....and against this guy come on Al "the garbage man" Haymon
Sep 11: Adonis Stevenson vs Karpency: 1 star fight
Karpency's best win is a SD over shot dawson, fonfara, beterbiev, alvarez, chilemba anyone else please?
Sep 12: Quillin vs Zerafa: 1 star fight
The thing that makes this fight interesting is...

Fights should be judged on their own merit.
If the first thing you think of when judging a match-up is the promoter or network, then you're a bit of a f@g.
This thread shows which posters like boxing and which posters just like watching big or established names in boxing.
A fan of the sport doesn't always base watching fights on the names of the people involved like the TS. For example toe to toe Tuesdays and the Friday TR cards on Spike-not big names but cards I watch and enjoy.
How can you possibly enjoy or know anything about the sport when your viewing of it is limited to one promoter, one network and one night?
ok guys wilder vs duahappas is on tap? who's excited? if you aren't excited about that what about fortuna vs velasquez? julius jackson vs uzcatequi? gerald washington vs amir mansour? devon alexander vs aron martinez? montiel vs selby?
my schedule for the next month is set how about you?

Im in Toronto and looking for FREE Karpency Vs Stevenson tickets. Am I excited about the fight? Nope but it's in my city, so I want to go.
^^^ stuff like this is why folks simply trolling this site are hilarious.
Toronto is getting what appears to be their first big fight in a while, the card is stacked with undercard fights that have meaning in Toronto (with the PBC TV fights being interesting), you have some interest in actually enjoying a big fight night in your city (regardless of how hard you try to hide it), the actual tickets for the fight don't look to be priced all that high, yet you're on BoxingScene, trolling for free tickets.
lol. May as well just sit home and watch it on TV; you can get the fight at your own cost from your house.
Only two of those under cards are any good, you didn't actually disprove him did you. I mean goddamn how is Figueroa fighting Demarco next. Let's be real the PBC/Haymon schedule looks like garbage for the next few months, hopefully they pick it by the end of the year. I heard talks of Thurman vs Porter, that would be a great fight.
Williams-Savigne and Williams-Cuello, on their respective shows, are both good competitive fights. Beyond that, I like watching Deontay Wilder fight (and Wilder is the prototypical American heavyweight that the public rallies behind if he proves to be the goods).
Not every PBC card is a barnburner, but of the 9 PBC cards scheduled for September, 6 of the shows look to be good fight nights, with none of the other shows looking flat out terrible (ie Guerrero-Truax isn't a fight, or card, that I'm looking forward to, but both guys are at about the same level, both guys fight with leaky defenses, and that clash should make for fireworks).
Not to muddle the topic by going to far off topic but, as a fight fan, if the PBC slate is so terrible, where else are you planning to go to get your fight fix?
HBO has the Golovkin PPV, Cotto-Alvarez PPV, and the Klitschko-Fury split-site doubleheader. You can possibly add a non-title fight between Bradley and Rios, and Terrence Crawford stepping back into the ring, but there's not much else, especially when it comes to "non-garbage matchups".
you are right this was unfair i should have listed all the great fights coming up on the other networks
devon alexander vs aaron martinez
wilder vs duhapus
julian williams vs luciano cuello
eric crumble vs.....

also i forgot to add that because the fights are free that gives them 4 additional stars so actually every fight is a 5 star fight.
:haha::haha:
I'm a boxing fans So YES while I'm not overly excited about some of the match ups, no question I will watch. Why Not? You have anything better? I see the same people who bash people also turn around and suck up to HBO...Well HBO is not show boxing for awhile, now Imagine if every promotion was on HBO waiting around for Dates and fighters only fighting twice a year fans would cry and complain about that as well
I'm pissed that Crawford, Lomachenko, Sadam Ali and a lot of the other young talent will only fight twice this year unfortunately because of HBO "Budget"
So yes I will take these match ups for now but yes they will have to get better and I think they will
still no one has answered the actual question. are you excited about the upcoming pbc schedule? as far as I can tell bundrage-charlo is the best fight for the next couple months. let's let that sink in for a minute...bundrage-charlo
so if i may ask another question what makes you excited about the pbc when they keep delivering this type of quality? are you just really optimistic and think in the future better things will come?
Nah you're raising a fair point; they could put MUCH better fights on for FAR less money if they were putting smaller names in competitive fights against each other. ****, they could be having these "name" guys face each other for what theyre paying them to fight tuneups. But PBC has a long term plan, and right now shamelessly playing the star-building game, just like Golden Boy was doing super hard from like 2011 until Richard left.
I dont love it, but what do I know? At least they have some sort of plan to TRY to get the American public interested in boxing again. I like the idea of the PBC belt a lot. We'll see where things are sitting a few or two from now.

pretty wack schedule indeed. all the non-ppv fights that are on hbo/showtime/nbc/espn etc are crappy so they can justify showing any decent fight on ppv.
regarding "fights on free tv", arent they pretty much doing the same numbers as hbo/showtime? which means all the people watching the "free" fights are the same people who already subscribe to premium channels to watch boxing. not sure why everyone is so excited about "free" fights when they're gonna subscribe to hbo/showtime anyway.
