Paulie and Hunter, who are usually great at their job, did this fight disservice. It was a good fight but they paid all their attention to Kameda, who was getting hit with jabs the entire fight, had no answer for the jab, who was getting pushed back the entire fight and who got out worked by McDonnell.
Because of their commentary we're hearing how Kameda got robbed?
Meanwhile I switched back to the PBS commentary and these guys had McDonnell comfortably ahead I think they had it like 116-111 for McDonnell. So clearly they were watching the same fight the judges were watching and Paulie and Hunter were watching something totally different.
For the record I had a similar score to one of the judges 115-112. It was tough to score because Paulie and Hunter tried to convince me that Kameda won rounds that he didn't deserve. I thought the fight was closer than the other two had it, but the right man won the fight.
Ask yourself, did the commentary influence you?

I watched the Sky broadcast and we had the PBS commentary which was very pro McDonell, even in the first 4 rounds, which for me, could have been all even. I didn't really score the fight and I had McDonnell winning comfortably but nowhere near the margins of the PBS guys. At one stage, one of them had it 8-1 in terms of rounds for McDonnell.
However you see it, you can't see it for Kameda. The Jap got beaten on all accounts.
Only if you don't know sh1t about boxing it does.
While I thought Kameda won I also kept posting "He Is Not Doing Enough To Take It From The Champ" also posted that I did not like how Kameda was finishing that fight and then he got knocked down in the 12th.
Might be time to look into a new Trainer, someone that knows what to do with his Natural Talent and Skills. Thought he looked better in the first half of the first fight than he did this fight. Once again he looked sharp early but then McDonnell relentless pressure got to him an he started landing more and more
Not going to scream "ROBBERY" For Kameda here, you have to Take It From The Champion and I don't think he did that especially with him getting dropped in the 12 which was no question a Knockdown but CBS was trying to butter it up and talk about how he was off balance
I think fans just don't understand what they're watch and how to score a boxing match. It is not about "WHO YOU LIKE" if you can't be Partial then you have no business trying to score a fightI don't agree that you have to take it from the champ. That is something some people say but you won't find it in any fight scoring instruction. The only benefit the champ is supposed to get is they keep their title on a draw. A round is supposed to go to the fighter who won the round even if they just barely won the round. It doesn't matter if they are the champion or not. You don't have to win the round big to get the round from the champion. You only have to win the round. Pascal said when he fought Hopkins that the champion is supposed to win all the close rounds. Pascal was wrong. A round is supposed to go to the guy who won the round, however slightly, and who is champion should have nothing to do with who won a round.
I hear the comments but I never let it influence my scoring of the fight. I watch fights closely and score fights round by round. I agreed with Hunter. While McDonnell came forward all fight I thought Kameda landed more punches and cleaner, harder punches in most of the rounds. I had Kameda winning by 4 points so I respectfully disagree with your scoring and the official scoring. If the punch count is correct it shows Kameda landing more punches. I am not saying the punch count is always accurate. I just don't see any reason the fight callers or punch counters would show favoritism toward one fighter or the other. I think they called the fight the way they saw it and counted the punches to the best of their ability. I agree with them. I thought Kameda clearly won with room to spare.
What was the punch stats? Since PBC doesn't show them. Fight was a lot closer than 117-110, no way around it. Kameda, I'm pretty sure landed more punches.
McDonnell might have been the aggressor, but what do you expect with a huge size difference (height and reach)? Kameda wasn't robbed, but fight was pretty much even.

The commentary on any network is not there to teach you about boxing. They are trying to sell you something.
I just watched the sky coverage with american broadcasters
Pretty much agreed with them that mcdonnell won the fight comfortably
There were a lot of oos and ahs when Kameda winged out punches that didn't land flush.. I could see Paulie who is second only to Teddy Atlas in fake "sweet science expertise" getting fooled by that. Didn't watch it with him talking though.
McDonnell made a very good tactical adjustment in the 3rd to start pressing forward, regardless of what he was getting hit with. It essentially won him the fight.
I thought the match was closer than the actual scorecards. I didn't think it was a clear Kameda win either. I don't know how they thought Kameda won five of the first six rounds.
It's funny that Haymon and co. have tried to take the belt twice and failed both times. Rarely does it happen where Al doesn't get exactly what he wants. It is Pre-determined Boxing Champions, after all.
Wonder if they'll talk McDonnell into a 2nd rematch, again in Texas lol.
I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone because of the s**t you dumb f**ks are saying, :crucified.
Those of us who watched the fight on CBS couldn't even hear the commentary 75% of the time because it was getting muted.
All I saw from McDonnell was 1,000 missed/blocked jabs.
Paulie and Hunter, who are usually great at their job, did this fight disservice.
Why did they back Kameda because he's the Haymon fighter? that would make sense because I believe McDonnell is exclusively with Hearn.

It was a pretty easy fight to score.
Kameda win some rounds, sure, but he lost the fight clearly. McDonnell was doing the more effective work, was dictating the action and pace and for me won it comfortably 116-112.
Paulie and Hunter's scoring credentials need to be questioned if they had Kameda winning wide. Just not possible.
Paulie has become punchy and it's manifesting itself in delusion. Like a little chihuahua that won't stop barking, Paulie gets on an idea and won't let it go, no matter how the fight draws out.
I completely AGree!! I also wondered why they kept showing kamedas highlights and showed nothing of mcdonalds. And Pauli basically never acknowledged when Jamie landed. Jamie won a close fight
I had McDonnell winning a close(ish) fight.
The American commentary on SkySports had McDonnell wining wide. I heard that Paulie and Hunter had it wide for Kameda.
I seen it as a close fight, with the right guy getting the nod from the judges.
