Why is it ok for Floyd to box the way he boxes and win a dull decision.Yet Lara boxed the same way and ending up losing a points decision.
ONE WORD....ROBBERY.They had it in the pocket regardless of what anyone says.
This coffee is beautiful.Needs more SUGAR tho.
Who thought Mayweather-Berto All Access episode 2 was good?I thought it was a very good insight....
Surely Floyd doesn't NOT fight on when he commands that amount of money lol aand gets it.
I had it 116-112 for Lara. It was a clear UD for him but Alvarez always has one judge in his pocket and another one in Oscar Pocket so you must either dominate him like Mayweather or KO him to beat him. Even by Mayweather dominating still got vlose scorecards and a draw in one.
^^^^^^^^^^^^that is it...

It was a close fight.
I will rewarch it. But do I need to watch it in slow motion, at a certain angle to the screen, with ine eye closed?
Lara has no one to blame but himself. He was the B side and an underdog coming into the fight. Did he really think he was going to pot shot and run and get a decision against one of the biggest draws in the sport? If he did then he is either dumb or got some bad advise, probably a little of both. The fight was close but Canelo was trying to force the action. Once he landed a few body shots Lara decided he wasn't going to engage and stayed on the outside and got what he deserved.
I thought the first Maidana/Floyd fight was much closer. I had Chino up 4-2 after six but then Floyd took over but the fight was still very close.
another myth, angulo landed far and body shots and didn't bother Lara, most of those "shot" were caught on the elbows, Lara left the door open and should have known better,
How is that a myth when everytime Canelo touched him to the body, you could clearly see Lara didn't like it and it caused to fight more negatively? The tides shifted after the 4th round, a round in which Lara stopped looking like the superior fighter.
Lara uses the ring in a 100% legal manner: Lets ban him from boxing! What a disgrace!
Mayweather illegally hugs his opponent to death: DAT SKILL!
The sad part is Lara is bigger, rangier, younger than Mayweather, yet it was Mayweather standing in the pocket, or within range ready to counter and at times pressing. You can talk about some of the illegal things he does but he fought, for the most part, a clean fight against Canelo.
Thank god Lara didn't get the decision. The last thing we need is more fighters fighting in that horrendous, Mayweather-at-his-worst inflected style. Floyd's got the gimmick of being a great fighter with one of the most valuable "0" ever. What's Lara's excuse?
The truth is, Lara could not cope with the body shot. That, and a pre-determined plan to exploit Canelo's plodding feet, meant Lara was running around the ring. And I mean RUNNING.
F*ck that. That sh*t ain't boxing.another myth, angulo landed far and body shots and didn't bother Lara, most of those "shot" were caught on the elbows, Lara left the door open and should have known better,
One makes you miss then snipers you with countershots. The other one makes you miss then runs around the ring. The difference is in the amount of punches thrown and landed.
Lara does have excellent footwork but he needs to throw more punches. A lot of the Cubans seem to be like that, even Rigondeaux falls into that pattern to a lesser extent.
that is not true, go watch other Cubans like Barrera, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Dorticos, Forestal, collado, santana, Socarras, Neslan, Savigne, Franco, and definitely not Rigondeaux.
I really don't see much of a difference between the styles only difference is one has more political pull then the other, I watched the fight live and I thought Lara made canelo look way worse than Floyd did but there was someone next to me saying yea he's making him look bad but the judges like the fighters who come forward and he was right but Floyd can run from pac man and ppl say he put on a clinic, someone should post a video showing some differences because I don't see much
Mayweather used his feet to create distance usually while setting up a counter he also stands infront of you and makes you miss while countering. Lara's style is literally to move out of the way and nothing else. Once he gets infront of you he just covers up. He also doesn't do much else then jab jab straight left. And if he can't do that he's moving and covering up with out showing any offense.
I think Lara's a good fighter just not similar to mayweather in any way.
Good point. Both guys did next to nothing but Austin out landed him enough to take that. I do believe that decision was biased.
Definitely. Two judges had the fight in the bag for Alvarez after the 8th, when it was clearly dead even at that point.
Come on guys,Lara and Floyd are so much the same fighter you could call Lara Floyd and call Floyd Erislandy, don't you's think.
I mean the way both fighters move around the ring is like poetry.
Roses are red
The grass is green
Open your mouth and i'll give you some cream.

Lara-Williams was a robbery.
1. This was not a robbery. Lara used good defense, offense was poor. Canelo's defense was good too, offense was also off but in the very least he came forward. Two guys with poor offense and good defense, one engaged the other one didn't, one landed telling blows, the other landed a good amount of jabs. Who do you give it to, the jabber or the power puncher? Canelo outlanded Lara in pp by 88 to 52, Lara outlanded Canelo in jabs by 55 to 9. IF you like jabs, give it to Lara, if you prefer telling blows give it to Canelo. I gave it to Canelo. Definitely far from a robbery.
2. Mayweather-Lara vs Canelo comparison: Mayweather outlanded Canelo in every department. Landed almost 50% of all his punches, and kept Canelo at 22%.
I'm a huge Lara supporter btw, one of my favorite active fighters.
I thought the Trout fight was more conclusive that Trout won the fight than Lara winning his fight. If anyone got robbed it was him.
