I hope Zerafa is fine. However, just because you are alert and talking won't rule out a blood clot and brain hemorrhage. Unfortunately, we've seen examples where people are talking as usual and moments later collapse.
The cat-scan should give answers if he suffered only a concussion. Marv Albert did bring up the issue about boxers coming in the ring way over the limit. I think that issue should be debated, yet i think the bigger problem was allowing such a mismatch be sanctioned.
Magomedov and McClellan come to mind. Joey Gamache as well. Only difference is Zerafa didn't take a barrage of punches, one and done is a little safer.

It's Waddell and Reed. I am sure their end game is profit like it is for any other part of their portfolios so eventually PBC will have to do the best things to make a profit. It is true that if you held a gun to someone's head they couldn't tell you the funds in their 401k, bonds, iras, etc
Hopefully since Waddell and Reed's end goal is to make a profit I hope that means competitive fights that attract lots and lots of old and new fans alike as well as sponsors.
Here's to hopin.
:boxing:
You go right ahead and keep on hopin. I hope that PBC goes belly up and Haymon ends up in prison.

Big fvcking surprise! Of course he suffered a concussion, he was knocked out! Whenever you get knocked out, you have suffered a concussion. Genius statement from PBC.

Great, tell them Zerafa will see them in court. He signed a contract to fight a fellow middle weight, not a light heavy weight
I think there is a limit to the attraction of a mismatch. Garcia/Salka was excessive.
Tyson's biggest monetary successes were against great fighters. Spinks, Holyfield, Lewis...
And at any rate matches that had back and forth success between the fighters have generally been held higher even in the minds of casuals. I mean, think about how much money rematches of great matches made and think about how bad Garcia/Salka II esque rematches would do.
Perfect example...Pac-Floyd, breaks records while Berto-Mayweather is detested by nearly everyone.

Golovkin is HBOs "star" by doing just that. Tyson was huge for beating bums. It's no secret. Garcia vs salsa was one of show times top shows that year. Casuals don't care as long as the main guy is getting hype
Oh comon, even Willie Monroe Jr was not as bad as Zerafa. I'll cut Stevenson a break over Karpency, as he at least had a win over Dawson.

How do the investors get a return on their investment? Is this part the branding for later?
I was thinking that eventually they would need sponsors to make a profit which is why people invest.
So far they have yet to see any return on their investment. The advertising they do have, as limited as it is, is nowhere close to enough to pay the purses for the fighters much less the production and air time costs. And 'people' are not investing in PBC, it is a large investment firm and the majority of people who do have money in PBC probably do not even realize it.
You are just a straight up low class bum.
He is speaking the truth. Most people watch car racing for the crashes, not to see who wins. Most of the audience probably couldn't give the names of more than two drivers or teams even while watching a race. It's the same thing with casuals and boxing. They want to be able to say they were watching when some boxer died in the ring.
The biggest selling videos on hockey are Don Cherry's Rock and Sock 'em series on fights in hockey. The most viewed YouTube vids on any sports focus on the best hits or the best fights and in boxing on the best KOs.
Anyone here remember the VHS videos that were all the rage back in the day... FACES OF DEATH! These were videos of people getting killed in the most gruesome ways, eaten by alligators, snakes, stomped on by elephants, you name it.
We like to think we have advanced from the Romans and their gladiators but we really haven't at all.
They took boxing off regular tv after a boxer got killed back in the 80's.
But I don't think you attract casuals with mismatches. In any sport people watch, they want to see a competition, not a 56-0 football game or 134-32 basketball game or a stripper getting pummelled.

It might take something like this for the networks to question what exactly they're putting on their airwaves obviously PBC doesn't have to answer or have it's matches critiqued by anyone
Boxers are made from mismatches lol. Casuals don't care about some can getting brutally kod. People don't watch ufc to watch them roll around on the ground. They want blood and to see the guy get punched a few more times after being kod lol
algieri manny was a mismatch too, but he didn't outweigh chris by 20 lbs or something. i think the weight is the central issue here. remember gatti/gamache?
