Vargas wasn't a face first Brawler but he did absorb some punishment that I thought he never was able to recover from unfortunately the Oscar fight finished what Tito started. He's already at or slightly above 155 now 154.5 in his last fight, i think he could make 154 with no problem for the right title(wbc or ring)..

They are both excellent fighters and they have similarities but they are different fighters and different people. Both of them were good at a young age and both of them were fearless aggressive boxer-punchers. Vargas had the bad fortune to be a 154 pound champion when Trinidad also won a 154 pound title. Vargas of course accepted the challenge of Trinidad. He put up a brave fight but he took a beating and was KOed in the last round. Vargas had never been down before fighting Trinidad. After the Trinidad fight Vargas could never take a punch as good as he could before it. I think if Vargas had fought Oscar before he fought Trinidad he would have beat Oscar. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to Canelo in a future fight with GGG. As of now Canelo has never been knocked down. I am a big fan of both fighters but I think Canelo is smarter and more dedicated to boxing, and trains harder than Vargas did.

the oscar fight did more to hurt nando than the tito fight. the tito fight was a really good scrap he got the worst of, but fernando was still a really good fighter. taking steroids, getting outboxed and knocked out by oscar after all the **** he talked did more to ruin him than anything else.

fernando vargas was 21 and they put him in there with felix trinidad. you cant compare canelo to vargas. Or cotto to trinidad :rofl: ...cause thats what i think hes trying to do here...... :rofl:
