Greater fighters do not get half the respect he gets?
Tyson rips floyd every chance he can get and seems seems to talk down the ability of modern fighters yet he wasnt that great himself.
His only notable wins were against razor ruddock and spinks. He lost every big fight he was in BADLY. HES A CONVICTED RAPIST yet talks with such pride and authority and the boxing community sucks him off wtf.
We show him more respect then floyd and manny yet those two are fare superior to him in every aspect.
The ****er lost against danny williams ffs. I honestly dont get it.
Can someone explain it to me. Hes not great at all. whats the fuss all about?
Mike Tyson is top 5 greatest resume (HW) of all time.
And right up near the top of H2H lists also, no lower than 10 imo and potential GOAT material.
LOOK at him!
All this talk about not fighting great opponents is all hogwash.
Mike Tyson, along with LEnnox and Holyfield and Foreman deserve the utmost respect when they speak of boxing because they mostly have reasoned opinion, free of much bias.
Tyson has really become a great guy later in life and is a magnetic personality.
Respect!
Because Tyson is a cool ass dude.
Because Tyson is a real ass dude.
Because Tyson didnt rape that girl..
Because Tyson owned a tiger.
Because Tyson was a bad ass dude.
Because Tyson was exciting to watch.
Because Tyson fights were not boring and didnt make you sleepy.
Floyds just a bltch.
Floyds a coward.
Floyds a puszy.
Floyd threatened his own kids.
Floyd beats women and condones it.
Floyds a racist.
Floyd is boring to watch.
Boring or not floyd is a way better boxer then him.
That should be what counts
I think Muhammed Ali and Tyson are the biggest icons of American boxing, everyone outside boxing circles, even those who have never watched a single round of boxing know them.
No one Knows/cares about Louis, SRR, SRL,DLH, ..... etc.
You are absolutely right. I live in Europe and everybody knows about Ali and Tyson there. But nobody cares about Floyd, de la Hoya...
they do
well not exactly but similar
it's called Floyd Mayweather's Jab Out
it's badass
frustrating though, every time I get to the end Floyd clinches and jabs me to death to a UD
every f**king time
But what's the point in beating Mr Sandman if Floyd is just gonna cherry pick Don Flamingo?
If Mike Tyson continued to win, with his bad attitude, people would have a low opinion on him. People want to see the arrogant humbled before they change their tune.
Because he was vicious in ring, the only boxer who had no problem to kill you in the ring, and he didn't fake it, it was real himself.
IDK Foreman was a psychotic MoFo in those early days before he became Mr Cuddly selling grills.
Boxing is always a "niche" sport unless the HW division is popping. Tyson was the epitome of what people want in a HW, therefore he will go down as a legend..

When they come out with a "Floyd Mayweather's Punch Out" then you can talk

Im not being funny but... the man is Mike Fuucking Tyson! Imagine a 21yr old Iron Mike in your face telling you where to go..
I bet 99.9% of posters on here would
A. Piss their pants
B. Pass out
C. Both of the above
Your too young to experience how big Tyson was in his prime. He is revered because Mike in his prime didn't just beat guys, he destroyed them. He won most of his fights before he even stepped in the ring because of the intimidation factor. Guys knew what was about to happen. Plus boxing in the 80's and early 90's was a major sport and not a niche sport like it is now. Tyson was known around the world. He fell hard and was never the same but age has made him reflective and he has shown remorse and people respond to that. Maybe once Floyd is broke 10 years from now he will be a sympathetic figure, but not now.
Yh but thats why im asking. I personally dont get it.
If you look at stats and put away the bias Floyd is far better then him.Like on another planet.
I dont get it. i was born in 1993 so i wasnt there for the hysteria.
You answered your own question, you weren't even thought about when Tyson was at his best. His skills In 1988 were every bit as good or better than the two fighters you mentioned.
