Trainer John David Jackson says that Andre Ward makes four major mistakes. I curious to know what people think they are, and will Kovalev be able to exploit them. (see link below)
TRAINER JOHN DAVID JACKSON SAYS ANDRE WARD MAKES 4 MAJOR MISTAKES; INSISTS SERGEY KOVALEV KO'S HIM

I don't think Ward makes a lot of mistakes. But neither did Hopkins and Kovalev absolutely dominated him. I was expecting career mistakes, because those he has made. Regardless of how good Ward is, he doesn't pose much of a threat to Kovalev. Kovalev was willing to use his length and beat Hopkins and I think he will do the same to Ward. Sometimes exciting fighters let size and length advantages go to waste in order to make for more exchanges, if Kovalev does not and keeps Ward on the end of his punches I don't see any way he loses. The only problem is, unless Ward gets rocked and taken out, it can be a much more boring fight than what fans are used to and want.
Kovalev was 183 vs Mohammedi and 189 vs Pascal and 188 vs Hopkins. He fluctuates, but that's the thing about unoffical weights, they're not all that legit. Fighters have clothing on, cell phones, jewlery, ect. Additionally who knows if they just ate or drank or how quickly they stepped on/off the scale. Lots of room for variation on those weights. Golovkin just weighed in at 170lbs again vs Monroe, with his high at 173lbs vs Rubio. You see JMW's like Gausha coming in as heavy as Golovkin.
At the same time Ward has only one recorded fight night weight from 3 years ago and people act like that's it for him and yet he needs to have a fight at 172lbs because they wanted to be careful how he cut the weight! If they're at all concerned with how he cuts weight, then he's likely coming down a pretty decent amount, and this is for a guy who keeps himself in good shape year round. Come on!
Basic statistics should tell folks one sample doesn't represent a population...

He'd been out of the ring for over a year and was 174 two and a half weeks before the Smith fight! So obviously he could have made 168 if neccesary
Actually, I think Kovalev was like 183 or 184 at most in his last fight. He was within 10 pounds of his weigh in weight, I remember that much.
But Golovkin and Ward are definitely closer on fight night based off history than Kovalev and Ward.

Ward makes a LOT of mistakes, that's why he keeps ducking Gennady and Kovalev. The coward is disgusting.
Another dumb post from the king of ignorance. You're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts, the coward in the proposed ggg/Ward fight is ggg
Yup, the next boring ass Floyd.
Dude you have an mma fighter as your avi, a female mma fighter nonetheless :lol1:. I don't think you're in a position to call Floyd boring.
If this fight happens,I know 2 things.
1. If ward lands flush on kovalev, the krusher can walk through it.
2. If kovalev lands flush on ward...its lights out.
Nobody gives a **** about this bum ass trainerlots of fighters would love to have jackson as their trainer he's one of the top trainers in boxing. stop trolling
Once Ward beats him they will say Kovalev is slow and flat-footed. Ward is the next Floyd when it comes to getting credit for beating fighters people say he will duck.
Yup, the next boring ass Floyd.
JDJ is spot on. Does anyone think Ward is going 12 without taking a solid punch from Kovalev, and does anyone think he could handle it when it comes? Kovalev has enough skill to land, and when he does it will change the fight.
GGG-Ward would be an interesting fight and I hope to see it happen at some point, but GGG would going to have to contend with a significant size disadvantage.
Ward is the same height as Kovalev and weighed in at 172 for his last fight, there is no question his size matches up more with Kovalev.
172 is much closer to 175 than 160 is to 168. Ward was over the SMW limit for his last fight, technically making him a LHW.
You were talking about fight night weights though.
So is Ward a LHW or should he come down to 164? Golovkin fans seemed to be confused on that particular issue.
Ward will be at the SMW limit for his next fight, he clearly didn't struggle to make weight for Smith.
He can think what he wants. The facts show that Ward and GGG are actually much closer in fight night weights than Ward and Kovalev.

Maybe I'm thinking of the Pascal fight.
Ward has made it clear he will move up to the full LHW limit to fight Kovalev. Whereas Golovkin's people have ruled themselves out of a Ward fight by demanding a puussy catchweight.
Kovalev weighed 189 for his last fight if I recall correctly which is 13lbs more than what Ward weighed on the night against Dawson.
Golovkin and Ward are closer in terms of size.

So what? Doesn't mean anything. Loeffler/Iksowitch had positive discussion just prior to RN/ME having positive discussions. K2/RN agreed on early 2016 and RN/ME agreed on late 2016. Ward's going to stay at 168 fighting Paul Smith's for $2mill per fight at his promoter's expense and then retire when they get sick of him.

What fact(s)?
Ward only has one fight night weight on record, vs Dawson 3 years ago - September 2012 @ 176lbs.
One week earlier Golovkin weighed 168lbs vs Proksa.
On June 2013, Golovkin weighed 170lbs vs Macklin.
On November 2013, Kovalev weighed 181lbs vs Silakh.
Here's your factual math:
176 - 168 = 8lbs
176 - 170 = 6lbs
181 - 176 = 5lbs
Uh oh, there's 3 facts that disprove your statement......

Scared Tactic to keep him from coming up and coming after Kovalev IMO
Trying to put some doubt in his head I'm sure...Make no Mistake Jackson knows and Kovalev himself admits that Ward would be a Tough Fight!
I really don't see many flaws in that ring and vs THE BEST...WARD BRINGS HIS BEST! Look forward to that match up sometime next year!
Ward makes mistakes, everyone does. People act like Ward is the perfect fighter and get offended when it's said. Sergey makes his share of mistakes as well, but he'd take Ward out. Ward can't handle that kind of fighter.
Honestly, i rather see this then GGG vs Ward, to me this is more competitive. GGG i like but i think he would be at a disadvantage with Ward in size and length. Kov and Ward would be same size and Kov imo has alot more foot speed that he uses.
Well seeing as they've already had positive discussions with Kovalev's people, I'd say you were wrong there. And from what Katy Duva said, Ward isn't going to demand any puussy catchweights either.
