He could unify 160, face the winner of Cotto vs Canelo which COULD transcend him into a super star before moving up to 168 and fighting Ward. Why would he move up for a weaker fight, publicity and money wise, to then come back down to 160? Makes no sense. Some fans don't give fighters enough time to prove and build themselves.
*facepalm* floyd was a lineal champ after just over 1 year if I'm not mistaken. Manny beat ledwaba in about the sane time to win his first title. Both guys were already well on their way to being ATGs by the time they reached 30 fights or about a decade in the sport
And if Sturm had balls, GGG would have been a champion back in Germany and if Sergio had balls, GGG would have been WBC and lineal champion in 2012. Well before he had fought 30 fights. If Cotto had a spine, GGG would be lineal and WBC champion today. But I guess it is Golovkin's fault that these gutless fighters who have the nerve to call themselves 'champions' have no balls.
He really doesn't have to, I don't know why Abel Sanchez and GGG fans decided to start mentioning Andre Ward to begin with.
Now that Ward is back I see fans wanting to turn into Victims and they want Ward to "Move Up" now but when Ward was away with Promotional Issues it was "GGG Would Destroy Ward!" "GGG Would Knock Out Ward In 6 Rounds!". However, not that Ward is back and he is pushing for that fight, people are not as confident or bold as they once was and they want him to move up to 175
I think it would be best of GGG Team would just be honest and say "Let Me Clean Up At 160 First And Once He Is Finish At 160 He Hopes To Fight Ward At 168 In The Near Future!" But I understand people have their PRIDE and they want to maintain this Boogyman IMAGE!
I guess you really do not pay much attention to anything Golovkin says because he has been saying exactly what I highlighted in your post for the past two years. He has always stated that his primary goal is to unify all the middleweight titles and any fight outside his division would have to be for a major PPV fight. Somehow that continues to be ignored and you are ignoring it yourself. Now all of a sudden, GGG is supposed to drop his career goal, pass up a title unification fight and another one early next year, and maybe even a third with Lee down the line, and move up to 168 to fight Ward in Oakland on BET for peanuts. Good luck with that.
As for who started this pile of steaming crap in the first place... I seem to remember Ward's lawyer sending an email to Lampley that was read on air after a GGG fight. An email that Ward never followed up on because he had other things to deal with, like losing in court, and which he and his team later denied any responsibility for.
To compare what Floyd and Manny did be the time they were 33 to what GGG did by age 33 is unfair and stupid. They turned pro as teenagers. A fair and intelligent comparison would be how much GGG has accomplished in the number of years he has been a pro compared to what Floyd and Manny accomplished in the SAME number of years from when they first turned pro. This irrational hate you have for GGG who is an excellent fighter and a nice guy is what is embarrassing.

What Floyd and Manny accomplished in 9 years in the pros still ****s on anything GGG has done in 9 years, so I'm not sure what your point is.
Who cares if they turned pro earlier, we can go by number of fights. Floyd and Cotto have done more in the number of fights than GGG did. We can play this game all day and I'll win because GGG's resume is sh*t. Because MW is sh*t. Someone said he fought top 10 MW's... And? Who gives a sh*t if they suck? Why would we compare the number of years they've been pro's? Why don't we compare the number of years Floyd and Cotto were amateurs then since your so big on that number. It's irrelevant. Forget age, forget years in the game just go by number of pro fights and compare resumes. GGG gets SH*T ON.
Stop with "he had promoter issues..." "He started late..." That's his problem, not mine. It's excuses for something you were just trying to defend. So which is it? Has done well at MW or is it not as good because of promotional issues?
Also, not a Ward fan at all to whoever the idiot said I was. I just hold a guy to his word when he runs his mouth. I think he's a good fighter but he's been guided very well to look good, all he has to do is fight Ward to prove he's got the goods. That's all it takes and he had the fight right there and didn't take it. Why does he have to move up? He doesn't, neither did Cotto he can make 154 just fine. Neither did Floyd when he moves up to 154 he can make 147 just fine and goes back down.
They did it for LEGACY and money. Fighting Ward means more money and GGG's first real shot a big name win and if he were to win he'd get instant credibility. And again, I don't even like Ward. But he's a good fighter, the best fighter GGG would have faced by a mile and that's all I'm asking of him. Everyone knows he beats Cotto and Canelo, he beats anyone at 160 and under. I've seen him beat the sh*t out of people, let's see him challanged in a fair fight. The fact that GGG fans have a problem with that is the sad part. Defending a clear duck while begging to fight guys in their 4th weightclass and GGG "doesn't have to move up." Because he's little doe.
Okay man, you're really spazzing out for whatever reason and it looks retarded, if you want to compare them, I have no problem with that, just do it at the same point in their careers.
If you wanna compare Floyd, Pac and Cotto at 33 fights versus GGG, I've no problem with that....
(That was my entire point)
Andy Lee, Quillin, Lemiux were in GGG's division for years. He's just barely now fighting one of them. Reason? Promoter issues. I don't see any difference.
just to clarify, Andy Lee vs GGG was a done deal, but GGG fathers died, so that's why they didn't fight.
Peter Quilin, we all know he didn't want the fight.
Lemiuex, He is fighting him just for the title. Good fight, but thats all.
Carl Froch is/was the biggest draw of boxers the only guys maybe above him is who... pfft not many!
So what has that to do with anything? If you are prepared to fight Froch at 168 then you are prepared to move up period!
Oh I don't know. Maybe because Manny and Floyd have been in the same division for how many years?

OMFG you can't be serious on the size. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother responding to you. 10 minutes on Box Rec and Google Images shows just how wrong you are.
As far as legacy goes. Who gives a flying **** about SMW historicaly? Middleweight is where you want to cement legacy. He actually has a clear path to try and clean up the division and unify. Why the **** would he move up to a **** division for one fight when he is a middleweight attempting to unify his division? If he was'nt unifying I would agree, but he is.
I'll say this again. Becoming undisputed middleweight champion and possibly making a run at B-Hops title defense record absolutely takes an elephant size **** on a Ward fight, as far as legacy goes.
Wow, beating Andre Ward does nothing?
You have the old view on boxing, that one weightclass is something special to do nowadays. It fits with your view of brushing off a Ward win. Potentially of course. MW is sh*t do you not realize it? MW was sh*t when Bhop was there. He didn't become a name either until he was beating up on smaller guys too. GGG wants the same padded record, but at least Bhop moved up.
Beating Ward would have been more money, more prestige, more legacy points and most importantly RESPECT. Respect from fans and fighters like Cotto who say "Who has he fought?" Why, why are GGG fans opposed to this? Oh that's right, he doesn't HAVE to move up because he's small. Well then why can't he move up and back down like Floyd? He doesn't have to weigh 168. Cotto doesn't weight 160... GGG is in his normal weightclass. These other great fighters are moving around in weight to make big fights....
I'm over the excuses. They guy not only accepted 2 fights at 168 with other fighters, he asked for... just look at the sig. I can only imagine if Ward agreed to fight Stevenson and Pascal, the fights didn't get made for whatever reason, Kovalev comes asking for the fight. I can only IMAGINE the sh*t storm GGG fans would have with that situation and yet... that's not the situation at all.
GGG called out 168 and ran, straight up RAN when Ward came knocking. GGG fans are class acts lol.
I'm not black, I just call it like I see it. Not even from Oakland or a Ward fan. GGG is getting passes like promoter issues for not fighting guys... Floyd got BLASTED for not fighting Manny for that reason. Tell me what is the difference?
Oh I don't know. Maybe because Manny and Floyd have been in the same division for how many years?
I wondered how long before the race card was played.
End of discussion.

Ward was saying he needed a couple of tune-ups before fighting GGG.
Then suddenly, weeks after Loeffler said he was negotiating with GGG's next opponent, and just 2 days before he announced GGG vs Lemieux, Andre pipes up and says he wants to fight Golovkin next.
Are you naive enough to think those 2 events are not connected?
Andre and his team would have known that GGG/Lemieux was close to being finalised and saw a chance to get some good publicity for Ward with people too stupid to spot the connection. Aka GGG haters, the dumbest and most biased clique in the whole of boxing.
So Ward had to know GGG's plans on top of his plans, all AFTER a fight he already had scheduled? Maybe he needed 2 tune ups with DiBella, maybe he felt ready to go after one tune-up because RocNation is trying to get paid as well... Lots of reasons why.
Right before the Lemieux deal was made something came out saying GGG wasn't fighting Ward because of weight. GGG simply had two negotiations going and he took the fight he is a 14-1 favorite in, instead of one that would have been 50/50 or him an underdog possibly. I don't see what's so humble or rewarding about that.

He's been visibly bigger than everyone but Murray and that was only because Murray was taller. You don't have to be taller to make it mean bigger. He was massive compared to Proshka or however you spell it, his first HBO fight. He was bigger than Geale obviously... That poor Japanese guy he killed was bigger? Just stop. Regardless of weight GGG has never been the smaller man in a fight.
And all this is moot. You're saying GGG is a small MW and Cotto isn't even a MW. He moved up for respect and legacy, why is that too much to ask for GGG? Especially after he was the one who said 168 better look out... The only thing GGG is small for is his mouth, he can't back it up.

When? And... he never accepted 2 other fights with guys at 175 either lol. Keep reaching. I can only imagine if Ward said yes to Stevenson and Pascal then when Kov came up he was like no thanks. Oh how the BS would have the haters in full force there especially because Andre is black. He's not getting the white foreign guy, who can't speak English very well with shaddy promoters excuse like GGG gets.
I wondered how long before the race card was played.

No he's running. He was down to unify but would move up for Chavez and Froch. Ward comes calling and "Well, I really want to unify." Any more excuses? Hell, the first title he even went to unify was after Ward came calling LMFAO!!!

Yet I've never seen you ripping Ward because he isn't fighting Kovalev next or calling out Wlad.
He talked about doing both.

Ward is the bigger joke, at the end of the day.
And if you're a real boxing fan you would prefer Kovalev vs Ward, which to me is a 50/50 fight. As opposed to a predictable outcome of a GGG fight where Ward would clinch all day, thus a guaranteed loss for GGG.
And I don't think clinching would work on a bigger guy like Kovalev. Even then Ward's speed will neutralize Kovalev's power.
Also, not a Ward fan at all to whoever the idiot said I was. I just hold a guy to his word when he runs his mouth.

Unify at 160, then move up was what he said he would do, ant that's exactly what he is trying to do now.
