I just watched one of Elie Seckbach's video's and one of his assistants interviewed Freddie Roach. Freddie made it sound like Rigondeaux to Roc Nation was a done deal. Good for him, you know he's gonna get a nice little payday.
Sorry just to lazy to post link
Roach mentioned Roc Nation in this interview. It's an interview from before the Pacquiao Vs Mayweather fight though..so it's a few months old now :
Boxing Insider: There were reports that stated that you had brought in Guillermo Rigondeaux as a sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao, but were later reported to be untrue. Did you ever consider asking Rigondeaux to be a sparring partner for Manny?
Freddie Roach: That's a lie. Rigondeaux is a good friend of mine, but we're not fighting a southpaw, we're not fighting a counter puncher. . . Rigondeaux is a challenging kid, I trained him for several fights, he's met Manny before. He did want to box with Manny when he came over getting ready for a different type of opponent, but that is completely untrue. I have no idea where that came from. Rigondeaux is a good friend of mine, I told him I would love to train him again last time I saw him and when Roc Nation signed him. Rigondeaux is a great guy, he's just not the right style for this fight.
Oh Ok, so yeah that was probably around the time when Gary Hyde was trying to work out a deal with Roc Nation so I guess the TS wasn't lying but I figured it was OLD

I would post proof but I'm too lazy too post it. :fing26:
WTF was the point to this thread?
That's good I guess, but they shouldn't waste all the money on paying Rigondueax but instead as an incentive for getting him big fights.
If I was a promoter I would steer clear of Rigondeaux.
What...
I highly doubt.
Hyde already tried it and he failed with it because Rigo couldn't get rid of Caribe. How would be it different now?
And Rigo said that big changes coming in Spetember when his contract with Hyde ends. He said Hyde, not Caribe and the only logical answer in this case is Haymon since Haymon isn't a promoter and he works with smaller promoters.
Alos compared to a Haymon move, a R move would be really dumb from Rigo now. Who he can fight then? Quigg, Selby and Lomachenko, that's all...
Otherwise he can fight LSC, Mares, Frampton, Quigg, Gary Russell, Selby...
So twice as much relevant fighters than with RN.

post the link... don't be lazy! lol
If true (and i dont know why Roach would know this) then its a terrible move imo.
For us anyway.
But Hyde has said the major interest has come from Haymon, who has tried to buy out Rigo's contract before.

Link or GTFO.
Roc Nation would be a great situation for him as well! I thought Gary Hyde said he already had a Roc Nation contract setup for him and he turned it down, maybe he is doing it without Gary Hyde :dunno:
Regardless, just want to see him back in the ring! Sadly if this is true that ruins so many potential big match ups for him.
good for Rigo but probably bad for us fans....if Uncle Al and Hov can't resolve whatever issues they have with each other then we won't see Rigo in with the likes of Santa Cruz or Mares after he's done with Loma
