So, I was recently in Vegas and got a chance to see Mayweather train like 5 ft. in front from me at his gym, crazy; and then I saw Marco Huck at a Magic Shop inside Planet Hollywood resort, talked to him for a bit, was drunk as f*ck, but he was cool.
Anyway, just saw that article on Ortiz, and am assuming someone disrespected him regarding his boxing career.
So, my question have any of you guys ever trash talked a pro fighter, face to face? And I mean a top dude, not necessarily any pro fighter.
Only documented one I can think of is when this dude is trying to get Oscar's signature, but then he's like "Marquez is gonna win, he's not gonna quit like De La Hoya," pretty brutal.
nah but if i done even seen leo santra cruz im gone tell his ass to shave that weak ass mustache he got going, aint nobody got time for that
The moustache and hipster ear stretcher studs make him look like a child abusing comic-book enthusiast.
Don't want to give the identity of the boxer but I was sparring a fairly well known boxer that trained out of a gym in the same city as me back when I was 16 about five years ago. I was at that particular gym because I was going to be meeting up with a friend of mine a little older than me that was going to be a sparring partner for him throughout his training camp and wanted me to help guide him through the sparring for tipsand pointers.
During warmups I'm also doing light drills and they approach me about doing some sparring work otherwise I have to go which was kind of rude but I agreed to spar after my friend. So after two rounds I go in to spar and hold my own for the most part kind of just refusing to engage on my part. Next round starts and were both pulling back on our punches in a sort of silent agreement way and are just lightly making contact for the most part until I feel about three hard rights trying to go around my guard but luckily I caught the first one partially so it didn't really land flush.
And he grins as if to show off. Anyways right after he grins I guess he expected me to just back pedal for the rest of the sparring like my friend did previously. But right after he did that he lowered his guard a little while in my range so I hit him with a four punch combo that made him back up for a second. I pointed at him and mouthed off something about I'm going hit back the same way you are. So he pressures me for the next 20 or so seconds really trying to hit me with everything not even really boxing just mindless brawling until I break away and he does the same thing and lowers his guard and I just jab him one time right on the forehead. He starts to say something and I jab him again in the same spot and he gets fired up.
And then the trainer tells us to switch out with the 3rd sparring partner. And he starts going on about how I just got saved and I say some smartass comment about his last fight. At that point in time he was obviously a better boxer than me due to age and experience but I guess he got embarrassed because he got caught twice by a 16 y.o. while trying to showboat and he couldn't just keep composure. So after that I never really cared to root for him anymore it just left a bad impression on me. Left right away and never went back to that gym again either.
At the stub hub for the porter vs brook fight
I seen santa cruz in the stand and i walked up to him drunk af and i told him whats up and i like your fighting style but why not fight rigo like canelo took on lara ... And i told him i was putting cherrys on his ig just as pressure to get him to fight.. I told him even if he loses he will get mad respect... He just blamed it on haymon and the promoters... But hes a real cool person any other fighter would of probably knocked me out
I wouldn't call disrespect but shortly after the Floyd-Maidana II weigh in, on my way outta the MGM I ran into J'Leon Love....fans was taking pics with him so one of my homies decided to ask for a pic with him as well then asked me if I wanted one...I was standing in Love's face looked down on him right in his eyes (I'm much taller than him) and said NO!!!...I don't take pics with clowns and told Love to his face that Rosado whooped his ass and got robbed....he just calmly walked off without a reply :lol1:
then I acknowledged Pascal with a fist bump and walked off...I can tell Pascal liked how I ****ted on Love though :lol1:...Pascal is cool dude
You wouldn't call that disrespect  :lol1:
i once knocked out Ike Ibeabuchi because i didnt like how he signed his autograph...he apologized when he woke up and signed it the way i wanted
:haha::haha:
I mean clearly this didn't happen but it's a funny story nonetheless....
So here I am walking out from a bar at the beach in Fajardo, PR. I am walking behind a line of cars parked on the side of the road when this Mitsubishi Montero starts backing up and almost hit me. I reacted by slapping the spare tire mounted on the back of the SUV and shouted something(can't remember). The SUV comes to a halt and out comes John John Molina looking somewhere between confused and pissed. I immediately recognized him as I was a huge fan of his and even trained with him a few times. Now, if he was looking confused, i can't imagine the look in my face but I know I got nervous pretty quick. He apologized and got back in the car as I resumed breathing and picked it up going to mind my bussiness.
True story!
Edit: I didn't train with him but in the same gym.

Come on man are you joking? Ibeabuchi hits pretty hard and if you ko'd ike I just dont see him signing anything for you when he woke up. If im wrong im wrong.
The Macho man was my main fighter back in '86-'87, the guy was lightning fast, liked to cut his hands loose and was defensively pretty sound, especially while on his bike. Rosario kinda beat the slickness out of Camacho though in their bout, Hector was never the same fighter after that bout in my opinion.
I fought out of Detroit way back when. Jesse Paul worked with me for a bout while my trainer was in the hospital. Jesses one cool cat as a person and slick with his style in the ring. You could see the results in Imari, that kid worked his ass off while I was around him. Good people, the Pauls.
I've never met James before but did have a bout with Oba way back when. The kid was always a little killer, I really wish that he could have gotten a belt to his name though. He was a lifer and one tough fighter.
Detroit boxing is coming alive real soon.
If you're near Detroit come to Jackie Kallens pro show coming up. The first one that she threw featured some well matched and exciting bouts.
Long Live Detroit Boxing!!!
I gotta dolla on Bernard in this one.
One love brother! I found out me and jesse are family by marriage. Your right jesse is 1 cool dude. Imari showtime paul is a good kid. He was always so respectful. Please send me the info about jackie's pro show. Im going to start enjoying my self and getting out more. I work too much and this pro show will be a great start. You must let me buy you a drink. Im still in the area. Still love detroit bro. You never know who you will meet on nsb. Thanks in advance bro!
No. I can't imagine doing such a thing. I don't disrespect anyone unless they disrespect me. There are lots of fighters I don't like. That doesn't give me the right to disrespect them in person. The closest I have come to disrespecting a boxer in person is booing them at their fights that I attend.
One time I was sitting ringside for Rahman-barrett in 2005.. It was a don King card so alotmof his fighters were sitting ringside including lamon brewster and chris byrd, both paper champs at the time.. Brewster was cool as hell and when we asked when he was going to fight klitchko, brewster just smiled laughed and did the johnny manziel money gesture with his hand.. Shortly afterwards chris byrd walked right past us, and being boxing fans we were all excited and yelling "chris Byrd, chris BYRD, CHRIS BYRD" and dude gave us the cold shoulder and literally walked right past us,,, I had to keep it real and shout "that's why you ain't got no fans chris Byrd". This did get his attention and he turned back smiled and gave us a thumbs up,seemingly feeling like an idiot for being a prick to us.. True story
hahaha awesome
I was hitting on a chick in a nightclub on St.Patrick's day earlier this year, and Tyson Fury turned up. We were all really wasted and at some point her and Tyson struck up a conversation and began dancing together...
A while later i managed to drag this girl away from him, and things were going well until him and his buddy approached us. Initially i thought i'd made a grave error, but he shook my hand and said "i could get any girl in here i wanted... So i'll leave this one to you". We had a bit of a chat about Hughie's recovery from his illness etc. , then parted ways. Really nice guy.
Tysons a top bloke,a lot of people take him the wrong way as they think he's like what he's like in his interviews.
I punked ortiz hard back in the day, made him and his bitch ass crew bounce lol they wanted to get rowdy but their ***** asses didnt want to get stomped out

Odd Chris Byrd is supposedly such a devout christian.
Na, it's all fun and games when you call professional athletes bums on the internet but in real life I'd hope most people respect guys that get punched in the head to put food on their families plates. Especially if you've ever boxed before.

Nope but If I ever see Bernard Hopkins, I'm violating him.
Talked to Khan at a David Lloyds in Bolton, he was getting ready to go swimming this was a few months before Garcia, he was there for an announcement about running with the Olympic torch.
I spoke to him for a minute and thought about asking him about his chin but I felt a bit weird since we were both in our swimming shorts, I did take a sneaky photo later on when he was doing sit ups in the gym (he was in normal clothes at this point!)
