Clearly Ward and his team are not confident of moving up to 175 and facing Kovalev. Lets take a look at the facts:
Ward has no good opponents at 168- he came in at 172 in his last fight.
He continues to call out a 160lber who has a lineal title in his division to go after
He hasn't fought a good opponent in years
Kovalev has 3 titles and has been calling Ward out for some time now
Ward and his teams responses:

(Hmmm so Ward would be willing to move up for a PPV fight but NOT fight Kovalev because it's not PPV, but Golovkin gets crucified because he would move up for Chavez Jr and Froch but not the irrelevant BET fighter Ward?)
"Would you fight Kovalev?"
" I fought two of the best punchers in the world. Edison Miranda. Arthur Abraham. He got bricks in his glove. (keep in mind he also said Kovalev is just a media darling, yet now he has 3 titles and is clearly past the "media hype" stage. What gives, Andre? Gets asked about Kovalev, starts talking about Alan Green.
He fought two power punchers 5 years ago so he shouldn't have to fight one more in Kovalev doe
Now here's the key thing: Golovkin has unfinished business at 160. He can unify with Lemieux but the big one is he's waiting on a fight with the lineal champion Cotto/Canelo... A fight with Canelo has NO barriers. That's an HBO PPV fight. So why would move up to 168 fight the best SMW (a P4P fighter) in the world, then go back down and potentially lose out on that superfight? In fact he even said he WOULD take the fight and say f**k it- at 164. That's a fair enough trade off for the risk he would take in giving up his 160lb championship fight options.
NOW, lets look at Wards situation. 168 is a complete crock of sh*t, he has absolutely NO ELITE fighters to fight there. He just fought Edwin Rodriguez and Paul Smith. So what is he waiting for? He's just waiting around at 168 and content with fighting journeyman the rest of his career? Golovkin offered him a big fight at 164- he says nope, "I'm a SMW" (Keep in mind he said he would move down to 160 for Floyd Mayweather). So what's the next logical step? Move up to 175 and fight another P4P fighter/3 titlist champion......... Oh wait- Ward never fought at that weight, who knows how his body will react, etc. the SAME exact things are going on yet everybody on here is hanging on GGG for some reason.
Literally the same exact situations but NO ONE is calling out Ward who is calling out GGG- in fact this actually looks worse on Ward, due to the actual situations and each fighters circumstance that I mentioned above.
So what's with the Hypocrisy? It must come to the fact that people can't handle the fame and star treatment GGG is getting so they desperately want him to lose, with tunnel vision and fire in their eyes ignoring everything else that's going on, or the Ward situation by just locking into GGG and talking about nothing else.
Kovalev called out Ward again, will we get a single call out from Ward, after tonight? What's he even up to nowadays?
Nope! Ward will keep trying to push GGG to move up and won't even mention Kovalev's name.
Ward wants to pick on smaller guys because he knows he doesn't have the pop to keep good 175 lbers honest. So he calls out smaller dudes. Real brave dude.
Ward and Kov have proven themselves against top tier competition while GGG has not. Part of it is fighters avoiding GGG. Part of it is GGG's choice of opposition when he doesn't get the fight he wants.
The natural progression for Ward would be to fight GGG, win and then fight Kov.
Ward and GGG should be fighting next. Kov and Stevenson should have completed the purse bid and the winning bidder should be choosing the venue.
Anything else is GGG/Kov fans trying to manipulate the natural progression in the hopes GGG never has to fight Ward.
The natural progression for GGG would be - Lemeiux, Canelo, then Ward
I would think that if you were going to jump into a new weight class, you wouldn't fight the best in that weight class first thing. I like both Ward and GGG. But if GGG should fight someone at 168 before Ward, and Ward should fight at light heavy (say Pascal) before Kovalev. Weight classes exist for a reason.
GGG Nation on full damage control :lol1:
Yes they are!!!! :lol1:
But what do you have to say about Ward and the hypocrisy of being in the same exact (and worse) situation?
This isn't about protecting GGG, it's about exposing Ward and the double standards going on.
You seem to dismiss the fact that Ward has been side-lined for almost two years with promotional disputes. And last I checked, Ward recently called Team GGG's bluff and stated publicly that he wants the fight now. Now all of a sudden, Team GGG wants a catch-weight of 164lbs, ignoring the fact that they were willing to fight Froch and Chavez Jr. at 168lbs. What's up with that???
If you want to expose hypocrisy and double-standards, start with Team GGG who seemingly want to talk about a Ward fight, but don't really want the fight to happen.

The reason is on the surface. Cotto/Canelo crew finally got something to divert attention from the fact that their guys are ducking GGG. He is not from the next division from them, Canelo can't make 154, Cotto holds the belt at 160. But they finally have something else to talk about, so they went for it full force.
Like wise the most logical order for GGG is the winner of Canelo/Cotto then Ward.
This right here^^^^
It's what all the hypocrites seem to be ignoring......
Golovkin ducking doe, Ward isn't doe
Duva said that she talked baboutaWard vs Kovalev fight with RN and both parties are interested, the fight will be done. Kovalev also said it and he also said that he respects Ward because he is a great champion and he beat their (Russia) best on the Olympics.
But I know this still means by some NSB users logic that Ward is scared of Kovalev and won't fight with him ever. And that he doesn't deserve respect and etc...
When the ones who know the parts of the talks (Duva, Kovalev) are optimistic and say that it will be done and they say that they respect Ward who is a great champion and then you have people on the internet who are pessimistic about the fight being made and disrespect Ward then you know that's just bitching and hating.
Ward never called out Kovalev.
Duva saying they've been talking is completely irrelevant here. That's Kovalevs promoter

More people want to see Golovkin/Ward than Ward/Kovalev and most want to see both. The logical order is Golovkin before Kovalev for Ward.

LOL,yet you want GGG to fight Mayweather..
your post
Has anybody seen Mancini fight? I have. I consider him a good fighter but absolutely not a legend. Mayweather is never going to fight GGG at 154 pounds. As a huge fan of GGG I would love to see him fight Mayweather at 154 for Mayweather's titles and his middleweight title. I am confident GGG would add Mayweather to his KO streak. But the fight will never happen so why worry about it?
so GGG can move down but not up..fvcking ridiculous
Ward called out Floyd at 160, but won't move down for GGG, and he said he'd fight Klit at HW. Ward moved up to 172 but needs some tuneups to fight at 175?
So where exactly is Ward moving to make those great fights happen?
Ward didn't say he'd fight everyone from 160-175. Ward didn't accept two fights at 175 against other opponents... The hypocrisy is nothing compared to the damage control lol.
Nah Ward just said he'd be fighting at HW by now. :welcome:
Instead he's chasing an inexperienced MW.
Ward is not in the same situation. He is younger than Golovkin and already has a much better career. He hasn't asked to fight Kovalev at any silly catchweights. He wants to beat Golovkin at 168 before moving to 175 and fighting Kovalev.
Boxing fans want to see both fights. Scared GGG fans don't.
Ok dirk that is exactly what GGG wants to do! Fight the Canelo Cotto winner or big money then move up to Ward! How hard is that to understand? So it's ok for Ward to do it but not GGG?
GGG called out anyone from 154-168 at a time where no one wanted to fight him. Now he has some opponents to choose from but bottom line is e wants to face the winner of the Cotto Canelo fight then move up

You really have problems understanding simple arguments man.. I feel a bit sorry for you. Having to explain everything like to a 6 year old gets exhausting after a while, if you cant figure it out yourself that a Mayweather fight is 10 times more desirable than a Ward fight then i am sorry for you.
Spare me your answer please, you're just gonna say "but but but he said anyone doe"
I doubt that Ward is afraid of anyone. He has been fighting since he was 9 years old. He is a fighter and a damn good one and has never ducked anyone in his weight class. If he moves to 175 I think he will be willing to fight Kovalev if a fair offer is on the table. Hunter insisted that he would not have Ward fight 175 pounders unless Ward was a true light heavyweight. He should realize that GGG is a small middleweight and should not be asked to come up to 168 to fight the best 168 pounder in the world. GGG haters make a big deal of him being willing to fight Chavez or Froch at 168 but will only go to 164 for Ward. Is anybody stupid enough to think Chavez or even Froch are as good as Ward. GGG knows damn well Ward is better than those two and that's why he won't go all the way up to Ward's perfect weight. Hunter just said Ward won't do that for Kovalev so why ask GGG to do it for Ward. It is similar to Jones fighting Ruiz for the heavyweight title. He could have fought Lewis for the title but he didn't because Lewis was ten times better than Ruiz. If Ward and GGG never fight it's because they are in different weight classes and it's hard to make a fair fight for both fighters. If they never fight each other they are still great champions and the best fighters in the world in their weight class. I can accept that.
