Mayweather didn't look impressive in the first fight against Maidana for the first 4 rounds. Tell me how that fight progressed?
Golovkin didn't look impressive against Ouma in the first 4 rounds. Tell me how that fight progressed?
Golovkin dominated the last 3 rounds. He also put Ouma in the hospital. He won AT LEAST 7 out of the 10 rounds before the TKO.
Doesn't sound like much of a struggle.
Are you really comparing that version of Ouma to Maidana?
The haters don't consider GGG to have any talent but if he takes more than two rounds to KTFO his opponent it means he is 'struggling'. But for some reason they never seem to care that their favorite fighters rarely stop their opponents and usually go the distance. Hypocrites much?
No one questions GGG's skill set. His resume is questioned and posters wonder if he will be able to employ his skills in with a great opponent like Ward.
His diehards keep using the excuse that other guys wouldn't fight him. That is PART of it. the other part is the choice of easy opponents over harder ones when Sergio/cotto/chavez/froch fights didn't materialize.

He DID struggle with Ouma and looked unimpressive. Get over it bro.

Struggled with Ouma? You do realize that Golovkin had been bed ridden for a week and was told to cancel that fight don't you? He got out of a sick bed where most of us would not even manage to do that to go to our regular job, got in the ring and beat the guy. He may have been struggling with the Flu, but he was not struggling with Ouma. Or any other fighter he has met in the ring for that matter.
But of course, you know better than anyone else in the world, especially the people who were involved directly. You must be a god or something. Or Andre Ward's father. Should we all bow down to you?

Sadly that's almost a step up for him. It would be the 1st "name" opponent on his resume. Sadly I think his team wouldn't go for either since GGG struggled the last time he fought a former champ that was bloated up in weight and shot to shit(Kassim Ouma lol).

... Then it's Lemieux... But Sanchez turned Lara down ,doe!!! It seems that Haymon approved the fight but they turned him down!...
There is no indication that Haymon approved anything or that HBO approved anything. Loeffler made the very first step by offering names to Sanchez, two of which were refused outright. That puts an stop to even beginning negotiations. If Sanchez approved Lara, then Loeffler would take the next step by getting approval from HBO and then attempting to contact Lara's people.
... Then it's Lemieux... But Sanchez turned Lara down ,doe!!! It seems that Haymon approved the fight but they turned him down!...
Can this be substantiated ?
I wouldn't be happy with Lara yet if it went some way to exposing Haymon fighters to HBO I'd be happy with it, it won't happen though.
Lemieux vs Canelo is a much more appealing fight, in fact the entire division (top 15) excluding GGG versus each other is exciting, GGG should move up if he wants to be respected for taking challenging fights.
Ward already inferred it's not happening in 2015. I think it'll be Lemieux, exciting match-up on paper.

My bad. I completely missed that somehow. Still, that goes to show he cares more about the money than the glory though, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'd just rather not hear the "Ward is ducking" comments in that case.
The glory comes from becoming the second man in history to unify all the titles at middleweight. There is no glory in moving up for one fight and moving back down, that is and always will be nothing but a money fight. Let GGG unify at 160 and Ward do the same at 168 and THEN they can have a superfight for true GLORY of becoming the first unified undisputed dual division champion of the world.
did you literally only read the first sentence of my post? he was willing to take that risk for them because they brought money to the table. plus he could probably beat them without actually becoming a full super middleweight (i.e. he could just cut less weight rather than gaining muscle). to beat andre ward he would probably have to fully acclimatise to the weight (i.e. gain muscle), which would make it impossible to come back down to 160 lbs and finish his business there. he offered the catchweight i suppose because it's easier to gain and subsequently lose 4 lbs of muscle than it is 8 lbs, so if ward wanted the fight before golovkin was ready to move up, then compromises would have to be made

it's going to be david lemieux.
lemiuex isn't a horrible choice, in spite of his losses to rubio and alcine
wins over rosado and ndam rejuvied his career some. he does have talent. you don't teach people how to punch hard. lemieux might hit harder than golovkin does.
while he's now world beater, and lemieux will provide golovkin a hard punching oppontn. detractors who say "what happens when he fights a puncher" will have to take notice. i thought curtis stevens was a solid puncher, but he doesn't hit like lemieux by any stretch, and is really more of a one handed fighter anyway.
you can't get on golovkin too mcuhf or martinez avoiding him. cotto and alvarez used cotto's status as current champion to avoid him as well.
What are the chances it's Lara? Lara seems like the best available opponent out there right now
Lara? Haymon has to speak up... Give him a break for HBO... Did you hear anything in this sense?
Yo-yoing wasn't an issue when Froch and Chavez Jr were on the line though...
