While the boxing world awaits Floyd Mayweather's announcement on his opponent for a fight eight weeks from Saturday, his father questioned over the weekend whether he should bother.
Mayweather has a Sept. 12 fight pending but his father, who also trains him, warned that boxing powers may be politically inclined to hasten his fall from the unbeatens, if an opportunity presents itself, after a May 2 win over Manny Pacquiao produced far more profits than action.
"If he don't stop, it's showing — the analysts, everybody, they don't like Floyd. When it goes like this, it's just a matter of time. They're looking for the next guy," Floyd Mayweather Sr. said.
The younger Mayweather has said his September fight could be his last.
He is 38 years old and unbeaten in a brilliant 48-fight, 19-year career.
Mayweather Sr. said, "Floyd told me he just wants to get a couple of easy fights," which would suggest his son intends to fight into 2016.
"My honest opinion, if he feels that way, he should get on out of the game," Mayweather Sr. added.
Mayweather Sr. said he isn't as concerned about the belated fight announcement as his son's clearly fading interest in boxing.
"Anybody's body, 20 years, anybody's body gets tired — and it's been every day of 20 years, and longer, for my son," he said.

I don't get fans. You have the power to not care, not buy it, not discuss it, not watch it, but every time a press clip comes out about the dude farting it blows up to 500 comments.
Personally I'm not paying for anymore Floyd fights. There is nothing left in boxing that he can show me.
yep for some reason they can't ignore it

... Then you wouldn't mind to watch Floyd 'toying' with Lara and his famous 'Cuban style', would you? :)

ya that might of been the case before he literally fought everyone lol
Didn't fight Paul Williams, Winky Wright, Margarito (when they were active), or Khan now, or a Prime Cotto or Prime Pacquiao.
So that's not everyone, lets be real here. Floyd does pick and choose opponents, and even then he usually picks them at the right time for him, when the opponents are no longer at their best. It's no coincidence he only fought Pacquiao after Pac got KOd by Marquez. Had Pac not lost that fight, it's highly unlikely Floyd vs Pac would have happened.
Same amount of time but their bodies went through different things during that time, including Pac getting KTFO. Stupid post imho.
That's Pacquiaos problem, not Floyds. FLoyd didn't manipulate Pacquiao into Marquez's fist. Floyd put his body on the line the same as Pacquiao did in those 5 years.
Floyd is 2 years older than Pacquiao and aged the same amount of time during those 5 years, sir. He ain't Benjamin Button, bro. Deal with the loss. It would have happened 2010 if Pacquiao agreed to testing, but he didnt. Accept it.

Wow. Can't believe they still want to see this boring boxer fight a tough opponent. All he does is survive, run, hug, survive, hug, run, rinse and repeat. Aren't you guys sick of that crap? Is that boxing at all? Give him Diaz. We might enjoy a fight without running and hugging.i have to agree. pac was played like a fiddle and r@ped.

:thinking::thinking::thinking:
So waiting 5years til a fighter declines, then fighting him by taking away his offense with excessive holding and fleeing from get hit is raping.. Smh!

Tough opponent? I got one. Andre Berto. Dudes a killa. You see what he did to Josesito Lopez?
This is no big surprise. Floyds been hand picking opponents his entire career.
Didn't he say he'd keep hand picking his opponents? Think this was media workout for Canelo..

He raped Pacquiao, though

No I think Manny was a legit guy at that time. Which TBE destroyed him but TBE does that to everyone. So I wouldn't say that Manny was a cherry pick. He was #2 in the world at that time. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and we now realize that Manny was extremely overrated.
I will say that if TBE's shoulder wasn't hurt coming into the fight he would've knocked Manny out.the hell did i just read
Mayweather does what he pleases and takes orders from nobody. If he wants to fight a few bums he will do that and nobody can stop him. He will make a ton of money for each bum and laugh all the way to the bank while wearing his TBE hat.
