The sport is so bad now. Haymon is building up PBC cards with mismatches, theres tons of quality fights that could be made, but no one will ****ing fight each other !
Ward-Kovalev
GGG-Cotto
Khan-Brook
are some of the best fights in boxing, but theres just no sign of them happening....its pathetic af.
I dont see how anyone can be happy at the state of things right now...its just retarded. Such a boring sport to follow. We get a few 4-5 good top level fights per year and thats it...if even that.
Theres good fighters, in their prime, at the same ****ing weight, who won't even consider fighting each other...while they fight continual mismatches.
I love this sport and always will, but I'm going back to mainly watching football and mma. This sport just isn't providing any incentive to want to watch it.
also i don't know where the **** all this money is coming from...especially the money haymon is paying his guys . that **** is gonna dry up real ****ing soon.
Well, you can see why there's very few old timers sticking around. Even the ones that do, you can tell they aren't really fans of the sport and have to dig down and find something positive to say about a fighter they're asked about. Some of it is sour grapes, but most of it comes down to the sport bending over backwards for the "A side".
for ****s sake people spend WAY more time on these boards talking about promoters, al haymon, tv ratings, ppv buys etc, than about actual match ups.
This is true. lol. You know it's bad when you are making threads about fantasy fights with active fighters in the same weight class.
good reply back watching boxing since 1974 and still train but professional boxing is garbarge, seriously how can a guy who lost to ricky hatton still be revelant in boxing. Yet he nearly caused an upset, Thurman going down from a body shot nearly!
I stopped watch sky sports has remind of the days when Barry Hearns was in charge and putting on pure bullsh*t fights each week bored the public to deah

You say that and you're doing the same thing. The first name you mentioned wasn't even a fighter.
I've been watching boxing since I was a little kid, almost 30 years now and I'm still interested. I'm interested this week! Carl Frampton fights in a few days. There's a weird Shobox card on Friday with like six undefeated fighters on it. I get to see Cesar Cuenca fight. Nonito Donaire is coming back and McJoe Arroyo fights for a title. I'm enjoying it and still damn interested!

Unfortunately true. There are many amazing match ups that can be made but most fighters today do not want 50/50 fights. They want a near-guarantee that they will win. Only solid fight coming up is Cotto - Canelo which is a real 50/50 fight.
what's annoying, is in divisions where there is a money man, the top contenders are skirting around each other and rarely fight, fights that could really make headlines and stars. Plus earn these young guys experience.

I hear you bro, not enough people wanting to be legends too much about making money, now days there is a real lack of 50-50 fights and it sucks BIGTIME
see like...you guys are just okay with following this boring ass mess of a sport.
i love boxing, i boxed amateur as a kid. but it just is not delivering. and we as fans should not be ok with that.
