You may be misinformed. Ward insisted on 168, Dawson didn't want to but had to oblige. Point is Ward made him come down to his weight not that Dawson wanted to. With this clear - who was Ward when he made Dawson come to his weight (not even in the middle) Ward was at the height of his fame, coming off the Super Six tourney. He was clearly the A-side of the promotion. Bad Chad hasn't been the same since.

He clearly says that he has no plan to go to 168 and stay there. It would be only for the right fight and one time event. He sees it 50:50 in terms of everything including the weight, hence CW 164.. He doesn't want SMW title. He wants the biggest fights and 160 legacy. 164 =|= 160 legacy

Did you guys even watch the Sportsnation video that someone posted on the second page??????? GGG clearly said he wants Ward.... all he said was 50/50 revenue split AND GGG should even get something along the lines of 70/30, he's the A-side. He didn't say anything about a catch weight.

I'm saying the money to fight Ward is the same at 164 or 168. The only reason to want 164 is weaken Ward. Golovkin going back on his word of "no catchweights, i'll fight anyone between 154-168" because he's not the fighter his fans thought him to be. He's afraid of Ward. As the A-side, GGG has the negotiating leverage to request a cw...he's the smaller guy, why shouldnt he tilt the odds a lil in his favor. That's basic gamesmanship and fair play. Yes Froch and Chavez Jr are larger, but less talented fighters. Plus they both would've been crazy money, worth going up to a weight you have no business in for a one off fight. Ward is larger and more talented, for comparative peanuts. We're not talking brain surgery here. A quick google search will prove this to be a lie. GGG's team is asking for a CW from a larger, more experienced, more accomplished, greater fighter in the weight division 8 lbs north of him. Rigo's team is asking for a CW from a larger, less experienced, less accomplished, lesser fighter in the weight division 4 lbs north of him. Totally different doe. Different planets doe.
