If you take a highlight video, Mayweather looks like a prime Duran in comparison to Pep. Significantly more offensive, up until he was in his mid 30's. Even Duran had become a pure counter puncher by that age, and rarely led. Maybe in 60 years that video will still exist and people will be saying "Mayweather was an all action fighter with devastating power" :lol1: That's a good video though to highlight Floyd's offensive side. I think it's stupid that people dismiss the fact or try to pretend that Floyd wasn't exciting as a youngster and was in many entertaining fights. Yeah as an older fighter he's not exciting any more but from 96-2006 (up to probably the Baldomir fight) he put on many exciting offensive displays. That's 10 years hardly a short amount of time.

Compare Willie Peps' ranking on niche ATG lists (very high) To how many people have any clue he exists (you me and 5 other people) Sorry but no matter how you spin it guys who just ride the rules to survive to a decision are never remembered as much as actual fighters. It makes me laugh when idiots say you don't know boxing if you are critical of fighters who are boring like Mayweather and especially Rigondeaux. Well, let me get it out of the way that I've had almost 80 amateur fights and therefore probably know more about boxing than 99.9% of you. Mayweather hasn't always been boring, but he is now. He never goes for the knockout, never throws combinations and - worst of all - he has now become a prolific clincher. Rigondeaux's only redeeming quality is that he doesn't clinch a lot, but other than that he's the most boring fighter ever - he could knock every fighter out but leaves so much to be desired compared to the way he often fought as an amateur. Movement and boxing are fine as long as you focus on offense more than someone like Rigo, but constant clinching is not excusable and is in fact cheating. Holding should be penalised much more. I understand why fighters do it - in fact I do it myself as I'm an intelligent boxer. However, there is less of an onus of responsibility on me to entertain as I'm not paid for what I do.
