That at the time of fight u could honestly put in a top 50 p4p list?
I was thinking about taking it to top 100 but that's too extreme and would force me to really dig in and think.
Anyone?
Murray and Geale.
I swear......people love to pick on this dude and I admit, he doesn't have the biggest names on his resume but most of the guys that he beat were all ranked in the top 10 at MW when he fought them. Guys like Quillin, Cotto, N'Dam, have all ducked him. The dude is wrecking guys that have hardly ever even been dropped or never been dropped before.
Meanwhile, a dude like Floyd gets credit for hugging and elbowing guys to decision victories that he should be knocking out if he was the best ever like he claims to be.
GGG is working on a fight with the hardest punching guy in his division besides himself, a guy who is also a champion as well. Even after this fight, he still is the mandatory for the Cotto-Canelo winner so there is plenty for him at 160.
Ward is sitting there fighting 168 pound scrubs at 172, claiming to be the man in a division that is as dead as a cemetery. Too afraid to move up and too afraid to move down but Ward is the man according to many on here and GGG is the "duck".
I have to spread more green around before I can green you. Spot on.
P4P are opinionated based but is a needed apparatus. if you are one of the best in boxing, there needs to be a list to distinguish the elite from the cab drivers.
If we had no check and balances, we would see fighters like rod Salka fighting a fighter like Terrence Crawford and we would be calling it a elite fights.
No, thanks to P4P list, we know that Salka is a garbage fighter because he will never be on that list. Yes P4P are opinionated based but universally if a fighter belong on the list but more so the order.
We all agree whether you hate him or not that Floyd Mayweather belong on a P4p list just like we all agree whether you hate him or not that Rod Salka doesn't belong on any P4P list.
Is Gennedy fought any P4P fighters yet?
Thank god for P4P lists. Without it, i'd have never known Salka wasn't a worth Garcia opponent. Divisional ratings and resumes certainly don't help
Its not always who you beat, but how you beat them. Canelo hadn't fought anyone so wasn't a p4p then. Yet Floyd fought him and its supposed to be a good win for Floyd even with the CW.
But we know GGG is more feared than Canelo ever was or will be.
Floyd hasn't a resume full of top p4p fighters. JMM wasn't a p4p WW. Corrales was drained.
Floyd just hasnt an abundance of p4p fighters on his resume when he fought them. Yes he has Pac. SSM was supposed to be but clearly wasn't.
Martin Murray.

But GGG is a coward for wanting to fight #1 p4p and current linear, WBA and WBC 154 lb champ at 154.
You can't make this stuff up.
Too small doe,too old doe,not a real 154 lb fighter doe, deserves to fight berto doe.
im not saying hes scared but it is strange hes not willing to fight the ones who are willing like ward and lara
Gennedy may not want any pound for pound fighters on his boxing resume.
Pound for pound list rely too much on popularity and a lot of time writers use them as a way to hype fighters.
Ring ranked Broner for some off reason and Crawford is ranked now based on a win over lightly regarded Beltran and a featherweight.
Most time they don't truly represent the sport and most time refuse to move a fighter from #1 even when there clearly not the best fighter in the world.

Boxrec uses a points system, opinion doesn't come into it.
Points systems do not work with P4P lists. There are simply too many variables to take into consideration and certain areas are given more weight than others because that is what the person creating the system personally feels is important. Some people, for instance, believe that heavyweights do not belong on any P4P list and others believe that a person cannot be properly considered if he has only fought at one weight class.
They can be fun as a discussion topic but people tend to take them WAY TOO SERIOUSLY.
He's talking P4P, Murray, Geale, Macklin were nowhere near top 10-15 even on boxrec.
P4P lists are completely irrelevant in determining the quality of a fighter. They are totally subjective lists and no two of them are the same as they are too dependant on the opinion of the person putting the list together. People tend to find a site that has a list that fits with their own preferences and will defend that list to the death while dismissing all other lists that do not feature their favorite fighter in as high a position or that fighter is not on the list at all.
Basically, P4P lists are totally useless.
I've been through this thread so far and no one can give me a top 50 pound for pound fighter that Gennedy has faced?
I wonder if his hype is warranted when it easy to look good when you are not fighting a fighter who is not on your level.
I'm keeping hope open to see if someone can give me a top 50. I made it 50 instead of 10 to allow as provide as much hope as possible.
GGG has been facing guys in the top 15 maybe up to top 25 but definitely in the top 50... His last 5 opponents were probably top 25 in boxrec.
Murray, Geale, and Macklin were all probably top 10 guys at the time too.
The thing is GGG is levels above these guys, hell I bet Nobuhiro Ishida was top 50 and Ishida KO'd Kirkland faster than Canelo did.
Ishida was coming off 2 losses to Pirog and Williams, nothing to be proud of really.
Before the Super Six, is there any opponent on Ward's resume who you would put on the top 100 P4P? Shelby Pudwill or Poo Bear Buchanan perhaps?
This was BE FORE the super six, at the Super six he beat fighters that would sh1t all over GGG's 33 opponents, and u didn't't see Ward get tgat kinda hype before or even after the super six, and this is why a lot of people are critical of GGG, it's the unearned hype.
I'm willing to bet that boxrec had Geale top 50 and Murray around 50 or a bit lower based on how their boxrec scores going into their fights with GGG compare to those of the current top 50 p4p.

What does that have to do with anything?
But the Super Six did happened so Ward is not the topic of discussion here, Golovkin resume is.
Can someone provide us with a p4p fighter on Golovkin boxing resume?
