Quillin drops his title, avoids a career high payday, and ultimately can't win his title back receiving a draw with Lee. Lee is reported to be fighting in Ireland against Billy Joe Saunders possibly later this year. Is Golovkin-Quillin still a top priority fight in the Middleweight division?
Quillin has been on PBC before and I think Golovkin-Quillin would do fantastic numbers on PBC primetime with an undercard with maybe Josesito Lopez (I believe Haymon still manages him) or even Leo Santa Cruz.
First of all...
Golovkin will never fight on PBC. Not happening.
Second...
Quillin would not last three rounds. After watching the Lee fight, I doubt Quillin would even try to engage and it would take GGG a round or two to catch him and knock him senseless. Not even a good sparring session for Golovkin.
No footwork, terrible balance, no head movement or jab, an utterly pathetic workrate, can't string together a combination if his life depended on it.
He has a fair left hook with some pop apart from that the guy has seriously minimal skills.
Who the hell even pays to watch him 'fight'? All he does is stand posing with some gormless bug eyed expression feinting.
Good job he didn't fight LeMule he'd of got put in a bodybag. As for GGG :lol1: he has no chance, zero. GGG knocks that pretender clean out within a few rounds, presuming he could be bothered carrying him for that long.
He is straight up the most garbage 'world class' fighter out.
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
Precisely.
Not even reporters are asking about this fight.... After he dropped his belt no1 cared about quillin anymore. Hes irrelevant without his belt and his best wins are ndam and rosado (cut stoppage).
I think right now, Lemieux is more relevant than Quillin.
Didn't Quillin make a million excuses? Plus now the Haymon-HBO beef. Dropping the belt. Fighting to a draw with Lee...
Eh, whatever. I'm fine with this not happening. Kid Quack-a-lot hurt his rep too much for me to care about this fight.
I think Quillin has regressed as a fighter. How he fought against Lee tells it all. Both guys were absolutely frightened of each other's punching power and barely threw any punches.
Golovkin destroys both of those guys, very early.
I don't think they will ever fight. I would like to see it happen, but the skeptic in me just cannot see it. I think either of them vs Lemieux is more obtainable. Frankly I would like to see how they handle David "Bull In A China Shop" Lemieux. It would be fun.
I would love for this fight to happen, Quillin is still considered by most the #2 at least number #4 MW. But every interview Quillin does on Golovkin, he says it needs to be more money and that Golovkin needs to fight off HBO, that Golovkin should move up in weight and fight Ward. His stock has been dropping with his inactivity and unwillingness to take tough fights (like Konecny over Macklin & Mora).
Not so long a go i wanted to see the fight..when Quillin held a title.
I'm not so sure now. He was very hesitant to throw against Lee..i can imagine he would be very gun shy against Golovkin.
As i watched the fight against Lee, I kind of read between the lines and came to the conclusion that Quillin was gun shy because he had some type of injury. Or atleast that is what it seemed like he was telling his corner.
i'd love to see it just because it'd be sweet to see quillin put on his back, but i don't see how it can be made any more. if quillin wanted the fight he had offers before the haymon-hbo beef, but he was full of excuses and now that pbc exists it's not possible any more.
I don't care about Quillin. If he ever decides he wants to fight Golovkin, whatever, another easy win. If not, he can spend his career struggling to beat anyone worth a damn.

Quillin has not looked good in recent performances, has no title and is no longer relevant until he can get his title back. No need for GGG v Quillin.
That guy has been so poorly managed.

First, HBO would never go along with the fight (They've put too much time and effort into trying to turn Golovkin into something to take that chance; a la Kovalev).
Beyond that, the parameters for such a fight have kind of settled on themselves; Quillin would be Golovkin's hell on Earth for the first 4-5 rounds, and after that Quillin being mentally weak will leave him possibly open for something.
Golovkin has been hit clean, dead on the face, in too many fights to see otherwise.

I thought we were talking about Broner for a second.
I think it's a fantastic fight and wondered why people stopped talking about it. Would be the step up Golovkin needs and also a chance for Pete to show where he stands. It favors Golovkin but Quillin is really sleept on around here with all the hate. He has some true talent, just a big mental block.
Precisely.
I don't want Golovkin fighting anyone out of the top 10 Ring Middleweights at this point. Quillin, Saunders, Eubank Jr., Lee, Lemieux, and Cotto are all fights Golovkin can win and allow him to become an Undisputed Middleweight Champion.
